Likewise, they're just names now! Ghosts of a past that seems a more distant than it possibly can have been. Sod a Worst XI, we could easily make a 'first team' and reserves from the misfits we've had to put up with.
-
Falque's stats on FIFA 12 overshadowed everybody in our first team until a more recent update. Mind you EA do work on the basis that every Prem player is better than every Championship one.
-
Well that's ironic. Yesterday I tweeted this: "I've now entered so many competitions to play at St. Mary's, one of them has to pay off sooner or later!" Dane Russo retweeted it.

I suppose the main benefit of that is keeping Saints Player. Though it's true that most games will be televised I prefer the All Angles Covered highlights to re-watching full games I was at. Plus it's nice having all of the interviews uploaded and the odd little extra e.g. from pre-season and the promotion vids of the past couple of seasons.

If bold images and large, legible headings aren't aesthetically pleasing then what is?! The rotating banner carousel grabs your initial attention and gives the headline articles the important they deserve (up to 15 stories no more than 2 clicks away). Important parts of the page are well highlighted and the modular design means that all other information is consistently well segregated. Yes, there's quite a bit of info on that homepage, but the headings on each box are pretty prominent which enables you to skim through and pick out which you require (not to mention the fact that you can add/remove sections as you please). The navigation is a simple, single-line and so all held in one place (well, if you ignore the floating 'shop' and 'tickets' quicklinks at the very top). There's a prominent search bar that actually churns up relevant results. Good social media integration... The list goes on. Just thought that was a bit of a bizarre comment to come out with given you followed it up by accepting our own as OK - one of the most unnecessarily cluttered sites you'll see!

Yep, the City site is a class act. Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and delivers a sound user experience, the likes of which the templated, sterile Perform Group ones could never attain. As a web designer by trade I'd love to have a dig at working on an upgrade but I'm not confident that my tender few years of experience could fully do it justice. Might be fun to put together a mock-up though

Likewise. I can recall it all (mostly with dread), but not necessarily the chronology. Such a rollercoaster, really puts into perspective how good things have been since Markus invested.
-
I thought the quote on the BBC site sounded like something Cortese would've written.

Just a few of the ones my girlfriend snapped. Going... ...going... ... gone! The Saints are promoted with style and flare (sic) Saint Markus Liebherr We Did It 4 U (indeed!) Fair little group shot of the lads (shame about the head in the corner). Will be getting a lot of mileage out of this one, absolutely elated: I know they're not the best around but if anybody fancies any at original quality then give me a shout.

Their fans were utterly fantastic and I took great pleasure in clapping their convoy of buses as it went down Northam Road. I was sat in Block 44 which seemed entirely full of plastics (wouldn't even join in with "Oh When The Saints" FFS!) but the Coventry lot chanted with persistence and good humour - a credit to their club. We certainly dodged a bullet with SISU.
-
What can you say? There's so much gratitude that I want to convey, but a simple "thank you" seems the way Markus would've best liked to receive it. Such a shame that we didn't get to see his infectious grin yesterday.

Had a sneaky one in Varsity (most of London Road wasn't letting people in as it was so packed!) then shared a bottle of champagne with my better half on the train to Fratton of all places! We went to see Blood Red Shoes at the Wedgewood Rooms, felt a little odd to leave the city but had an immense day all-round. Best of all was a skate trying to kick off at Southampton Central because a group of us were singing and chanting! He was being held back with his presumed partner giving it the "It's not worth it!" Of all the days to pitch up in Southampton if you're that over-sensitive...
-
[EDIT] My ticket's gone. I'll repost if that changes at any point.
-
Try Block 44.
-
It is, middle of Block 42 (Northam).
-
Sounds like a lot of operators to me, just got through and bought 4 together at the back of Block 44. That does mean my season ticket is available now if anybody's interested.

Exactly this, noticed the pattern around Christmas when we had an extended period of unconvential fixtures. Saturday 3pm and Tuesday 7.45pm games almost always seem to go our way. Whether that has a root cause in our preparations or is purely a coincidence I have no idea. But yes, there's still more than enough chance to put this to bed.

Which pub would you recommend in Southampton to watch the match?

Always The Alex for me too. Ooh, I've probably 'met' some of you without realising, how very exciting. NickG, try Wahoo on the high street. Normally have a pretty big projector on in there or there's a ton of screens if not. -
Sky have covered a lot of our games recently, before we start talking about big screens it depends whether they plump for us in the currently vacant last-day Championship slot.
-
The Alex, hands down. Actually it gets busy enough as it is, stick to Varsity
-
Gah, I was in Egypt when they went on general sale and the online system went into meltdown effectively scuppering my chances. If anybody has two or three tickets together in the Kingsland or Northam I'd be anxious to buy them. I'm a season ticket holder so my normal seat (Northam) would be available if that sweetens the deal.

Ta, gives me some hope. We'll be in pure tourist territory (Sharm el-Sheikh) so I'm not sure if that makes much difference. Planning to visit Cairo at some point but probably better doing that on a day when my mind's not entirely consumed by football
-
Likewise, except I'm going to Egypt. Much chance that there'll be places broadcasting al Jazeera there?
-
It's OK dear, I'm sure the nation won't linger on it as much as you will. Blackpool fans: now THERE was some ridiculous attire. Anyway I wasn't embarassed either (despite dragging some neutrals to watch the game), only thing I felt was frustration that we spurned the chance to stick one foot in the Prem.

Christ, how fickle are football fans? I hope some self-righteous so-and-so gets the chance to dig this thread up in 12 or 24 months time and we can all laugh at the posts within as per the Lallana/Schneiderlin threads etc. etc. He will come good given the chance (and I certainly wouldn't call 5 starting appearances 'a chance').
