  1. I get the point he was trying to make, it's just that on this occasion he was completely wrong, at least I hope so.
  2. Not really, people can sing when they want. Just think all this "well done us" stuff is bull****.
  3. Not at all. The atmosphere is entirely dictated by what happens on the pitch. Beat Man City, atmosphere = amazing. Lose to Wigan, atmosphere = crap. I just find all this self congratulatory stuff a bit pathetic when the atmosphere is driven by whether we are winning or not. Yeah, well done, you sang a bit when we were beating the reigning champions. Shame you all sat on your ****ing hands when we were one nil down against Sunderland.
  4. Clyne on the left and Dickson on the right. That can't be what you meant to write.
  5. Riise's was sheer class, but you could at least see how it happened, air wasn't an easy ball to deal with. I still have no idea what Barry was actually attempting, and why.
  6. Seriously though, MLT, would you take Dickson over Fox? I certainly would.
  7. Shame we let Dickson go too.
  8. Perhaps a petition to resign Harding? What number did he wear, we could all clap for a minute at that time in the next match, to show the transfer committee how we feel?
  9. He can fit into this system. Just needs to work on certain areas of his game.
  10. Would you swap Harding for Fox if offered the chance? I know I would.
  11. Well done to the players for creating an excellent atmosphere. Sure as hell isn't much to do with the fans. Sing when we are winning.
  12. Personally I think Dan Harding is the better player.
  13. How close do you sit?
  14. Clyne was excellent at the start of the season, was just being left too exposed by our midfield. If you think he was hopeless you're an absolute nutter.
  15. 15000 more at least. That much is clear.
  16. Love Jos. Even the way he waves his arms when trying to turn, like he's swimming.
  17. Those hordes of people trying to get tickets for todays match but failing, they will be delighted by the stadium expansion.
  18. Haha, amazing. Yeah you're right, competing with Milan for multi million pound signings is definitely not something we should be at all concerned about. Where is the money coming from? When do they want it back?
  19. Lambert will continue to play until we can find somebody who is as good on the ball, in the air and in front of goal but also more mobile. That's not going to be cheap because lambert is an astonishingly good footballer.
  20. I do think the reaction to this is interesting, not just from saints fans but many others. It's clearly about a lot more than just Adkins. People are becoming very unhappy with the way football is heading... Football now is ridiculous ticket prices, it's being told there's a £1.50 booking fee per ticket when you're asking for 5 to the same address, it's players on incomprehensible wages, players coming through the youth system and leaving after a few games when Arsenal wave a few quid under their noses, its being told to sit down, it's games being moved left right and centre, and it's stupid unrealistic expectations from foreign club owners, it's fans being treated as "customers". Through all of that, fans are still looking for something to help them connect with their club, we had Nigel Adkins, a talented manager and a bloody nice bloke. Fans could connect to the club because of him, but that connection has been removed with little justification and what are we left with? All the other stuff. Feels like Cortese has drawn a line in the sand and said "this is modern football, how dare you expect to have a connection with anybody at the club, like it or lump it".
  21. I think a lot of the feeling on this stems from people's unhappiness with how football is going. Ridiculous ticket prices, ticket tax, games moved all over the place, players on incomprehensible money, owners treating clubs like their personal play things, heavy handed stewards forcing you to sit, mercenary managers... But through all of that, we had Nigel Adkins, a very talented manager but also a bloody good bloke, and despite all the other stuff, here was somebody the fans could connect with, it made us feel more in touch with our club. So to sack him just when things were on the up brings all that other stuff into sharp focus, we are no different, just another club with stupid prices and fans being treated like ****.
  22. Honestly Alpine I just don't understand. We scored 3 more points than Villa, 2 more than Wigan, QPR & Newcastle, and we prevented Reading gaining on us. We picked up a confidence boosting win with an injury affected side. We could have scored 3 less than Villa and Reading, and 1 less than Wigan, QPR and Newcastle. We could have taken a confidence denting defeat and be sat in the bottom 3. How can you not see much cheer in that?
