  1. Where's quite near Gatwick? Crawley? Three Bridges? You're having a laugh if you think you're going to get £500 a month for renting a room out there. £300's more realistic. You'd have to pay me £500 a month to live in Crawley.
  2. Still can't decide if Grizzly Man is just an amazing hoax. The family and friends in the film are just ****ing weird - too weird in fact. Either way it's a fantastic film. Mr Chocolate indeed. Lunacy.
  3. I've been in a Turkish prison. It wasn't nice. I met some lads from Mansfield in there.
  4. As with most of your opinions on here TDD you start off with a point of view and then when challenged on it start being obtuse instead of admitting your argument is flawed. What you've written above makes no sense. I can't work out if you're really thick or on an eternal wind up.
  5. And where do you think that money comes from in the long run? Not from rich Arabs or Russians but from the man/woman on the street who can no longer afford to go religiously. The money paid for people like Kaka inflates the market for everyone else (all the way down to clubs in the CCC and lower) - the clubs without the big money backers have to try (fruitlessly) to compete and that means high ticket prices. Yet another boneheaded DDD argument.
  6. How are they bringing new money into the English game? The £100 million or whatever it is is going to Milan, with a significant amount to Kaka and his father.
  7. The Lady in the Lake - Raymond Chandler He's the best.

Actually, you're right. He/she is just a very angry person.
  10. The East terrace was carnage for that goal. Joyful. Probably MLT's 2nd v Newcastle. Nonchalant. Was also my 21st so couldn't have been any better.
  11. If Holmes hasn't been (and isn't going to be) picked for another position then surely it has to be him. Local lad, playing over 500 games (including 2 cup finals) for the team he loved it'd be a travesty if he wasn't included. Having said that Armstrong was pretty darn good too.
  12. saint stevo = clueless 20 year old who doesn't know his arse from his elbow and will probably end up doing some boring dead end job for the rest of his life but it's ok cos some stupid idiot will marry him and he'll be happy earning 30k a year and think that that's what life is all about Merry Christmas, btw.
  13. How do you know our break even point is about 19K? The people staying away aren't costing the club money - a series of **** decisions at board level are costing the club money. Football's too ****ing expensive to justify spending stupid money on it week in week out when you're, to all intents and purposes, being fleeced. Fair enough to those who have got season tickets but you're being taken for a ride. Going to football is a hard and painful habit to break but when you realise you're being ****ed over and that you're no longer a supporter but a customer it makes it a bit easier.
  14. I watched the first 20 minutes for the 1,432nd time the other day. Makes me cum every time. Words can't express how good 'that' scene is.
  15. 4 stand out gigs: Yeasayer@King Tuts - Glasgow Holy F*ck@Digital - Brighton White Denim@Audio - Brighton Duffy@Komedia - Brighton (no stage presence but cracking voice) Disappointment: MGMT@Pressure Point - Brighton (believed their own hype)
  16. Scary (for me) I saw them in May 1990 at the Kilburn National Ballroom supporting Jesus Jones. That makes me old.
  17. Touring in January if you didn't already know. Shouldn't somebody start a Gigs of the Year thread?
  18. Are you drunk? I thought at first you had it in for Darwin (being the bicentennial and everything) and then I realised you must mean Alistair Darling. 'Quite good' - doesn't do it justice mate. Go and spend some time in a country less fortunate than ours. Seriously do it, it'll change your opinion on life (for the better I might add) As for being wealthy...no chance. Money just isn't that important to me. Doing a challenging and satisfying job is though. Money aint everything (it's not even half of it) despite what most people think.
  19. Grouper - Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill An exquisite album.
  20. Rubbish. Those who are staying away because of Lowe, I imagine, are those who had been going for years anyway. The prospect of seeing us play United 3/4 years after we were relegated and had been playing them season in season out for nearly 30 years is probably not that enticing to them. The stadium will be full of the type of people who fell in love with Sky's glamour football and ****ed off when we went down. They'll be the ones who are crawling out of the woodwork. Personally, I couldn't give a **** about seeing United. As long as we make some money out of it.
  21. You're absolutely right. Millions died so we could moan. Jesus. People need to get a sense of perspective sometimes - nothing patronising about that.
  22. Boo****inghoo. Have any of you moaning bastards lived in another country? And I don't mean western Europe or the US. I mean somewhere where you really haven't got a ****ing chance, where the odds are so heavily stacked against you you're ****ed for life. Get a ****ing grip. Selfish ******s. You've got it so good in this country it's unbelievable. Can't buy a new telly - so ****ing what. You're alive. Your life expectancy is amongst the highest in the world. You have friends and family that love you. You can do literally whatever you want. Wake up and stop being ****s. The weather's ****, mind.
  23. ****ing lovely. My g/f not too happy about being woken up with me shouting 'get in there you ****' very loudly.
  24. Are JayetAl playing Brighton? Might pop along given that it's free and stuff.
