Plus interest and repayments on a large overdraft and a huge wage bill (Rasiak, Saga, Rudi, etc.) I would imagine 12-13k would be a more realistic break even figure now, possibly less.

Excellent!!

I actually thought AP might have tried something like this (but with Seaborne alongside Jaidi in defence) for the Brentford match. I think, in hindsight, he believes he should have done this too.
-
144, just let me know where to send the cheque. It really would be funny as fook to do this!

Cheers Pancake!

I thought this as well. I am certain that in the past we have loaned players to 2 or even 3 different clubs in a season and had them play for us as well.

21 years old and has scored 14 goals in 91 starts (11 sub appearances) including 1 against Celtic this season. So I guess he could fit into the catagory of being the AM to replace Mellis? I was going to make a smart arse comment along the lines of all I know about him is that he is Scottish but looking on soccerbase he is English.

How many players should we off load now or in the summer?

I believe you will find that Lancashire was on the bench ahead of Martin because the latter was cup-tied. There is no way AP will off-load a CB in the summer who he has only just signed. That is something reserved for the other end of the M27. -

We've got two players on our books called Ryan Tafazolli? I could understand it they were both called something like John Smith but very strange with such an unusual name. Also, I don't think we can really count the academy guys. There is a set amount of academy players which wouldn't change no matter how many other players were on our books. -
Mrs Minsk lost her mum to cancer many years ago (way before we met each other). So, from us both: Fantastic news Mr and Mr Hamster; we are very pleased for you. And, depest condolences to MB and his family.

Spot on!!

I've been to New orleans a few times, including doing a whole Mardi Gras week (which was a totally amazing experience). New Orleans is a great place to visit and I wish them all the best at the Superbowl! (I even used to have a black and gold N.O. Saints shirt, but don't know what happened to it )

You make it sound as if that defence got torn apart and conceeded loads. It kept a clean sheet until virtually the last kick of the game, simply because half the team switched off thinking we had just scored the winning goal. I doubt they will make that mistake again!! Personally, I am very happy with this starting 11. I would have preferred Thomas at RB, but I guess AP is playing safe with him given the fluid on his knee reported yesterday; and I would prefer Jaidi to Seaborne alongside Fonte, but we all know he is not up 2 games in a few days, hence why AP signed TWO new CBs,
-
I had the same thought, given that AP said he may well rest Wotton for this one. It's quite possible he will go 4-5-1 and may even rest Rickie (from the starting 11) but I doubt it: ------------------Kelvin------------------ Thomas----Jaidi----------Seaborne-----Harding/Mills ------------------Fonte------------------- -----------James----------Lallana--------- Antonio/Papa------------------------Holmes --------------Rickie/Barney----------------- So many options available to AP, even with Hammond and Morgan missing. Then there are players such as Bart, Ostemebor, Gillett, Gobern, Perry, Wotton, Connolly, Saga, etc, who could all be called upon. What a lovely position to be in.

I haven't read any of this thread so far, but my initial thoughts..... It would be oh so funny if they were put out of business on the 10th and we got a bye into the quarter finals.... BUT...... It would be soooo much better for us to give them a good beating and THEN they go out of business!!!!! COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very good

I have, in the past, made this exact point when being told I had to pay excess baggage. Also a child under 2 goes free, sitting on parent's lap, but you get zero baggage allowance for them. This is crazy as you need loads for babies on flights; not least nappies, change of clothes, food, etc. On a similar note: I wonder if the fatties who have to buy 2 seats get double the baggae allowance?
-
We don't need to recall Gillett, he is already back with us. (You can see him training in the background of AP's interview pre the Millwall game.) I would imagine, if he is not sold by then, that he will be on the bench for Saturday. I think AP rates Gobern above him for a CM slot.
-
I was thinking about this as soon as Morgan was sent off tonight. I would expect the back 4 on Saturday to be: James Thomas Perry Harding (or Mills if he is still ill) I also think we will see Connolly start alongside Rickie, hence his not featuring today. This would see a flat 4 in midfield of: Antonio Wotton Gobern Lallana or, possibly, Lallana in the cenntre with Holmes on the left. Either way, we are going to be thin on the ground for Saturday as anyone worth buying (for those advocating that route) would also be cup-tied.
-
That is a very good point! P.S. I would imagine the 'away goal rule' would stand as of the end of normal time in the 2nd leg. i.e. We lose 2-1 tonight and win 1-0 after 90 mins at SMS we go through. We lose 2-1 tonight and win 2-1 after 90 mins at SMS, it goes to penalties. The above is just a guess though.
-
It's because most people are simply to lazy to ask the full question: Do away goals count as double IN THE EVENT OF A DRAW OVER THE TWO LEGS? i.e. the team who scores most goals away from home win. Does that make it easier for you to understand?
-
Nope, I don't agree. SHOULD WE GET THERE, I would much rather we played Carlisle in the final.
-
I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere today that they do. I can't remember where I read it though.

I think the line-up will be: -----------------Kelvin--------------- Thomas----Fonte-------Perry----Harding (Mills if still ill) -----------------Wotton-------------- ---------James-------------Morgan---- Waigo--------------------------Holmes ---------------Rickie---------------- Subs: Bart, Gobern, Antonio, Lallana, Connolly As it's a first leg, away from home, I will be more than happy with my predicted 1-1 draw (I think AP would be happy with this too, hence the expected 4-5-1 formation).
