Chris Perry - 5'09'' Jack Cork - 5'10'' Alex Pearce - 6'00'' I agree that Cork got skinned in those games, but I still think he is a better RB than James.
-
Cork Pearce Robertson in that order, but there is more chance of me winning the Euro Millions than this happening (and I cannot even buy a ticket for it).

Hmmm, whilst I am a firm believer of the old addage 'never change a winning team' I think I would make one for tonight's match. Despite him setting up the goal on Saturday I would drop Lloyd James to the bench, move Jack Cork to RB and would recall Alex Pearce to play at CB alongside Chris Perry. Reasons being: whilst Cork and Perry both played well on Saturday they do lack height (Rory Fallon is a good 3-4 inches taller than both of them); as well as his good defensive qualities Pearce scores goals from set-pieces; James was at fault for Reading's goal and he does seem to make a number of very dangerous 'errors' during a match. Just my thoughts.

Drinking loads of water before going to bed is the best way to avoid a hangover. However, when I forget to do this drinking Irn Bru (which I can get over here) or Lucozade (which I can't) and going for a Big Mac always help me to feel better.

I concur 100% with this post. BZ

I had a similar problem, for 30 mins or so, a few days ago but all is fine now.

I left the RN in 2004. I remember the majority of sailors in uproar when it was announced that women would serve on ships. It happened, and the navy is still going strong. There are many jobs which women can do equally as well as men and, from personal experience of training them, I found that on average the female sailors were intelligent than their male counterparts. Of course, what they do lack (in general) is physical strength. I don't see how physical strength is an issue for someone who spends 98% of their time at sea sat in an Ops/Control Room, in a Galley, Store Room, etc. Then there is the 'hot-bunking' issue on subs. Providing 'girls' hot-bunk with other 'girls' in a 'girl' only mess I don't see a problem here either. However, if it was my call I would probably put wrens on Trident subs but not on attack subs. After all the entire crew of Trident subs are known to be nothing but 'Bomber Queens'.

The Kursk was an Oscar class sub which are SSGNs not attack subs (SSNs). The role of an SSGN is to trail and destroy carriers, hence why they armed to the teeth. However, back the original theme of this thread: On Russian TV they said that this Akula II (probably the best type of sub in the world) was due to be accepted into the Russian Pacific Fleet at the end of this year. They also said that the cause of deaths was that the firefighting system was accidentaly trigured, which released Freon gas into a compartment. As others have mentioned, Halon gas is what we use but I guess the Russians do still use Freon. N.B. Halon will also kill quite quickly as it removes oxygen from the compartment. There was also some mention about India taking some Akulas, but they didn't say this was one of them.

The reason I don't go is because I live abroad, but I feel whilst many of the reasons above are valid the primary is the results on the pitch. I seriously believe that if we had won every game and were sat at the top of the table the crowds would be much better than they are right now. I even expect many of those who state Lowe and Wilde for their reasons of non-attendance would be back if we were storming the league/reached a cup final.

I agree. Jan P was complaining that there were no decent balls in from the wings on Saturday, yet he doesn't even put our best crosser in the squad. Rudi is the best LW/LM at the club (especially with Holmes out injured). IMO he is also the best LB at the club. If Lallana is to be played wide right, Rudi is the next best player to play at AM. He needs to be in the team if we want to win matches. And if anybody says he is not being picked because he does not want to be here/does not want to play for Saints can you please back this up with some hard evidence (i.e. a recent quote from Rudi himself saying this). Otherwise it is simply your opinion.

Why are so many having a go at Burley on this thread? Dexter wanted to leave as he wanted guaranteed first team football. Best refused to sign a new contract. DMG HAS signed a new contract here, so for me he gets the vote. I would rather have a player who wants to be here than one who doesn't. Oh, and I firmly believe that when DMG has as much first team experience as Dex currently has he will be far better than Dex is now.

Davis Cork Wotton Perry Mills Gillett Surman DMG Lallana Skacel Pekhart Subs: Bart, Hatch, Thomson, BWP, John

Of course you do. As the saying goes, it takes one to know one.
-
It will be a bit different in that scenario. It is a high profile event so a lot of slack will be cut to the England fans. When the Jocks 'invaded' Minsk for a World Cup qualifier a fews years back there was not an ounce of trouble.

I have to agree, that one does look very camp!

I think it would be good for stag do's, but there are definitely better options in Eastern Europe. The women here are very hot, there are plenty of bars, pubs, nightclubs and strip-clubs, and a night out is relatively cheap. However, coming to Belarus you would have the problem of all requiring a visa. At, currently, 63 quid a pop (without all the extra agro, and expense, of actually getting said visa) I would see this a VERY BIG negative. Also, the police do not take kindly to drunken guys roaming the streets and will find you (very uncomfortable) alternative accomodation for the night if you do not immediately go home when they tell you to.

I know I am, but why do you think so???
-
At first sight I thought it should have only been a yellow, and then I saw a slow-mo replay. As others have said, if that had been done by one of their players on one of ours everyone would have been saying it was a red card offence.

I previously had requests about getting tickets and possibly accomodation for the England here in Minsk next month. However those who had made these requests (you know who you are) have not paid a fiver to join this site so I am unable to pm you. If tickets and/or accomodation are still required by anyone please let me know asap (either by paying to join and, therefore, by pm or by posting details here). Tickets go on sale here tomorrow and are priced from a tenner (behind the goals) to 20 pounds (on half-way line). I can book apartments from as little as 10 pounds per night (total, not per person) for a (basic) 3 bedroom flat (a lot cheaper than the hotel rate). I will, of course, need to work out to meet anyone who wants any of the above. I will be over there from 24 September until 01 October (staying in Bishopstoke) and will be attending the Norwich match. Also, if anyone coming over wants to ask anything about Minsk in general (best drinking holes, public transport, etc) please feel free to do so. Over to you..........
-
Killer or Thomas........oh!! (But at least they want to be here and didn't ask to leave, and both are as fit and able to play atm as AD).
-
Agree. We need an experienced spine. For the Ipswich game I would go with: ----------------------Kelvin--------------------- James---------Cork---------Perry-------Drew ---------------Wotton-------Spiderman------ ----------------------Lallana-------------------- Dyer----------------------------------------Rudi ------------------------John--------------------- Subs: Bart, Gillett, Thomson, DMG, Pekhart
-
As ever Bailey and thevman are spot on with their team news. Both Olly and Jack starting at CB today. Wotton and Gillett holding, Spiderman pushed up, and Adam on the right.
-
and what about against Brum in the cup?
-
That would be my guess to given those 11. I am very surprised that Perry isn't starting. Seeing Olly and Jack at CB does make me a bit nervous.
