You may think so; I may think so - but there are numerous bed-wetting numpties on here who would disagree. They are the modern day lynch mob; the 21st century witch burners. The slightest rumour and they are there like a shot wanting the board sacked, or burned at the stake, or to at least make an official statement the second any new rumour has its first whispered beginnings. No matter that an official statement may have been given in that regard less than 24 hours previously! I read the entire RL thread yesterday evening and couldn't even brig myself to argue with the rabid, foaming at the mouth, majority on there. This place did momentarily get a bit better when Glasgow and Barry were banned. At least one of those is now firmly back and posting like mad again - makes a bit of a mockery of his being banned in the first place, but there you go; at least the admins earned another fiver from his resurrection. Nowadays I try not to get too worked up over any rumour, or any of the numerous over-zealous posters spouting their diatribe on here.

Pochettino showed what sort of a guy he is by stabbing Adkins in the back to walk in the door. He openly admitted that he had been watching us and waiting for the best time for him to take over, which was just as Adkins had turned the corner with our form. Anyone shocked by him now not showing any loyalty needs to have a word with themselves. Yes, he had us playing great football but I never really liked the guy; hence my Falkland Island flag avatar. That said, wouldn't have minded him to stay so long as the football stayed good. Similarly, I am certain there are other good managers out there who would like to work with an amazing crop of young English talent coming through. We will see what will be; and I will continue supporting Saints regardless.

I would prefer Stekelenburg, or Ruddy, or Forster, but wouldn't complain if we did bring Marshall in.

I would like to see Clyne make the squad, but really don't think he will. Johnson is first choice anyway and Roy will go with Smalling and Jones for their 'perceived' flexibility.

For me, he has been the second best Saints player on the pitch in just about every single game he has played in. He also comes in second as payer of the season for me, just behind Adam Lallana. We are a far better team when he is on the pitch than we are when he is off it. Great work rate, great team play.

I don't think there is any 'battle of wills' at all. It's just that many, on here, want everything done NOW!! Both Reed and Pochetino have said they are happy to wait until the season has finished before working on his new contract. After all, it's not as if his contract runs out in July; it still has a year to run. Reed has also stated: any player MP wants to keep will be kept; no player will be sold without MP's approval; no player will be brought in without MP's approval; and, that MP has already identified the players he would like to bring in. However, there are those who like to ignore all of the above and stomp their feet because it hasn't all been sorted already.

I have said it before and I will say it again: I honestly think Shaw will still be a Saints player at the end of the summer window.

I think you are confusing 'wanting' with 'expecting to happen', which kind of makes you what didn't want to be. I absolutely WANT us to win the league, and the FA Cup, and the Champions League, etc. I don't 'expect' us to win any of them though. No, not even the FA Cup, although it would be nice. Having said that, look at Liverpool this season? Who would have predicted them to be top with 2 matches to go? How far from them are we? Arguably, if we swapped Gaston and Osvaldo for Saurez and Sturridge (and with a bit more luck with injuries - i.e. Boruc, Lovren, Wanyama and JRod being fit ALL season) that could be us.....

I'm pretty sure you said a while back that you were changing your name to Tiger_Tony as you had switched teams to Hull. I have no contacts at all, but I really do think that Pochettino will sign a new contract and both Lallana and Shaw will be at Saints next season.
