I know it was an away match, but I was very impressed with Boruc today. He went an entire 94 minutes (96 if you include the extra 2 minutes at the end of the first half) without throwing a water bottle at Saints fans. Do you think he can maintain this?

I know he wasn't on the pitch all that long, but do you think he looked as effective as he was last season?

It should be a team one, red and white with a bit of black; but ANYTHING other than blue.... bulldog, Mickey Mouse, ANYTHING, just not blue..... very unprofessional, imo

I think it is disgusting that he is wearing a blue tie. We are Saints; we are red (and sometimes white too).

Opening day win, away from home, clean sheet, another goal from SRL. Completely outplayed the Baggies. Great by Boruc towards the end. Excellent debuts by Wanyama and Lovren, but even better performances from JWP and MoM Luke Shaw. What's not to like?

I'm not feeling confident about a win today. I never am on the first day of a season, especially against a side who recently did the double over us. Hoping for the draw - 2-2.

Exactly, communication and consistency. That's just the problem though, this rarely happens. Usually, a thread is locked without any warning and often without reason. I suppose if I were to start a thread on 'how many hot dogs have you eaten at SMS' that would be allowed to run on the main board as it is Saints related. But the recently locked ones discussing Saints and football are deemed inappropriate. Madness!!!!!!

If there are long, low, flat balls going over his head then he is probably on his arse and, therefore, unable to turn quickly. I think Maya is the most agile of our CBs. He is also the best, imo, at reading the game, making interceptions, goal-line clearances and tackles. He is probably the poorest in the air. For these reasons, I think he and Lovren will make a good partnership.

I agree, the first half it wasn't diplomatic. It wasn't meant to be! Yet, the other half was on topic and still it was deleted - unlike hundreds of others all over this site that are left alone!! So, you wouldn't have locked last night's thread? Who locked the subsequent one on the same topic this morning? No mod admitted to doing so and no reason was given for its locking. Why would you have moved it to general sport? We were discussing which of those players we would have liked to have signed for Saints, therefore, those threads were SAINTS RELATED. Nice of you to admit that each mod interprets things their own way and, without exactly saying so, that us PAYING members just have to accept each one's decisions - like it or lump it, as it were.

And was it you who also deleted my (at least half) on topic reply to that thread? If it was because, in your opinion, part of it was off topic why weren't all the posts re Fox's abilities or lack thereof (and 100s of others) deleted from the HCDAJFU thread? Could you, or any other mod, please explain why a thread about players signed by other prem teams and their suitability or not had they joined us instead is not allowed? How is that thread the same as one suggesting (in our opinions) players who CDAJFU? Similarly, how is a thread about 'who do want us to sign before the end of the transfer window' different from HCDAJFU? Do you, and other mods, see the inconsistencies? Have a look back through this thread. It is not just me getting ****ed off by this. I shall not hold my breath for any full explanation!!
