  1. To be fair, it was an excellent tackle!!
  2. Thought Clyne was going to bury that. Soooo close!!
  3. Yay!!! They are still showing the match here!!!!!!! (I might not be as happy about that decision in 90 minutes time......)
  4. Not at all, we're up to 11th as it stands.
  5. Bugger!! This was due to be the live match here. They probably won't bother showing one now; can't see them messing with the entire evening schedule. Looks like I will have to watch a stream, as usual.
  6. Hate may be a strong word, but you certainly never liked him and you have always seemed to be fixated on slagging him off. Even now he is gone 90% of your posts on here are to do with him. This was my favourite thread of yours: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?31648-Apprehension-for-the-coming-season&highlight=Adkins
  7. What an utterly ironic post when in your second post on that thread you said that you didn't believe Pearce either.
  8. But they've still got all those PPs to come, and it's not as if they have been ear-marked for anything else.........
  9. It's a 4 day weekend here next week. I can pop over the border to 'offer my services' if you like? (Not with the wedding planning!)
  10. I can only conclude that FMDP has been complaining again!!
  11. Cheers Craig! P.S. When did Chappers come back from his loan Millwall?
  12. Thank feck for that!!
  13. With Fox now being banned for the remainder of the season and some doubt over Shaw, due to the knock he picked up last week, who would you go with in the fullback positions against Spuds on Saturday? Some possible options: 1. LB Targett; RB Clyne 2. LB Yoshida; RB Clyne 3. LB Forren; RB Clyne 4. LB Jos; RB Clyne 5. LB Clyne; RB Richardson 6. LB Clyne; RB Cork 7. LB Clyne; RB Yoshida Any other possibilities? (Apart from Burleyesque ones like: LB Guly; RB Rickie). Personally, I would like to see 1 - Targett given his debut but also wouldn't mind 5 or 6, although the latter would weaken our midfield. In another thread Monk said in training MP was working with a CB pairing of Forren and Yoshida. One would think this was with this weekend in my mind, not for next season. Whilst this would give no indication as to his choice of LB I hope it isn't Jos, who he moved there for the last few minutes against WBA. Mods, maybe a poll?
  14. This. Cheers for the info Monk. Please just ignore the saps like GCS.
  15. I don't think it just being English that sets the premium, I think it is the 'home grown' tag; which Morgan carries.
  16. As expected, AlpineTroll refuses to: state why the QPR transfer policy of last summer was so much better than the Saints one; name the players (with prem experience who aren't journeymen and are realistically within our reach to sign) that we should go for; acknowledge my offer of a donation to Saints in the Community should we be relegated this season; admit that actually our transfer policy of the past three seasons has been spot on as we have met all targets set (2 promotions and maintaining our premier league place).
  17. I'll do you a deal Alps; I will promise to pay a grand to Saints in the Community if we get relegated, provided you promise to pay a grand to them if we stay up. What do you think?
  18. You did not use the word 'journeymen' but you state that you want us to buy 'players with prem experience' - to my mind this is the same thing. Unless you think we can successfully bid for the likes of Vidic, Kompany, etc? Come on, put names to your '3 or possibly 4 defenders' who would not be journeymen and whom we could realistically sign. (I will wager you do not do this!!) Oh, and the difference between our lists is that you think we need 3 or 4 defenders; I think we need 1 or 2. By saying 3 or 4 it implies that you are not happy with any of our first choice defenders.
  19. So you believe we should have a transfer policy akin to that of QPR last season? Buy lots of prem experienced journeymen early; which, of course, also includes paying their over-valued wages. Personally, I would rather we stuck to buying promising younger players who will improve. Also, I really don't think we need 3 new defenders. For me it should be: 1 quality CB 1 quality holding MF (to compete with Morgan/Cork or to give the option of using Cork in defence) 1 quality winger 1 promising striker to understudy Rickie Plus, maybe, a versatile defender/midfield player to cover a number of positions (a modern day Nick Holmes)
  20. A minor, but significant, adjustment........
  21. We should play a Champions League team. Away to Bate would be nice! (They would also be mid-season so good for the fitness too.)

    Forren for u21s

I must admit this statement did me fill me with confidence in Forren's ability, or lack thereof. However, given the highlighted bit, I am going to write him off or say he is a waste of money just yet. My main problem though is the fact that we were crying out for a CB in January. Not one for the future, but one who could fit straight into the team. Fortunately, we managed to get away without signing one.
