  2. Which is a huge surprise what with him being South American and all that.
  3. I posted this on my Facebook the day gabiadini signed I'd love us to get this going, sounds great in that
  4. Really? Fonte puts in a transfer request and les says he won't be allowed to leave unless it suits us and we have a replacement lined up. Fonte leaves despite being linked with numerous players we don't sign anyone. What we end up with is a footballing equivalent of the last, most p*ssed girls in the club at the end of the night when all of he fit ones had alrady pulled. Regardless of if Careces luckily becomes a great signing we were left scrabbling round at the end of the night trying to bag who was left available because we'd f*cked up Pulling a decent bit of snatch. No kudos at all, it shouldn't have come to this.
  5. You do yes, another impact of brexit in afraid. Thanks leavers, if the delays costs us the cup they only have themselves to blame. ?
  6. The only case people have made against home games only counting is that the club don't make money from away tickets. So that tells us that all fans are is ultimately a stack of pound notes. However, for those that know how away games get sold that doesn't stack up as if no one went away then the club would still have to pay for the tickets, so whilst they might not make money from away games they'd definitely lose some. Cup finals should be about rewarding the most loyal fans, which is why it should have been season ticket holders first, then total games in descending order. As it is there is a good chance someone with 2-3 home games will get one over someone with 7 aways, how is that fair?
  7. The fact that its going to go down to members who have only been to a couple of games tells us more about our fan base than we'd like to admit.
  8. We had this a few years back when we played away at West Ham on valentines day. You can basically categorise the blokes at games n this night into three types. 1. The Alpha men (AM) who would go to the game with the lads and their women don't question this as they know it's what their chap wants. Why would they want them to spend time with them paying for an overpriced meal when they know they'd both be much happier with him at the football and her watching Emmerdale? For these types of guys it's not even a question that the women would ask, they know their place and respect their AMs for letting them know why they stand. the AM goes to the game, has a few beers and relaxes as any hardworking AM should do. Meanwhile the the women will be at home, freshly bathed, perfumed and in new underwear waiting for her partner to return from the match to either satisfy him sexually on his homecoming or prepare him a nice snack and drink should he not require these services. Both parties in the relationship are happy as there is a mutual respect and understanding between them. 2. Soppy lemons (the SL) who would take their girlfriend to the game. The SL go with their wives or girlfriends all the time as they are henpecked and not allowed to enjoy themselves without their insecure female partner ever leaving side. They also want their women with them, not because they want their company because they are frightened if they're out of their sight they'd be getting nailed by someone else. The women in a relationship with an SL will spend the whole time either nagging their pathetic excuse for a man not to drink too much or swear or worse still try to be one of the lads by drinking too much and swearing and behaving in a generally vulgar fashion. These "men" look on at the AMs wishing they were more like them and not tied into a long term relationship with a woman they resent but are too pathetic to end it with. The women also look on at the AMs wishing their embarrassment of a man was more like them and would no doubt jump at the chance to have a fling with them and know what it feels like to be with a man who didn't just want cuddles. these relationships are doomed to failure, whilst in the short term they may pretend to have a common interest as the SL will become increasingly bitter about the henpecking/vulgar behaviour and the women will become increasingly bored with her soppy, wet lettuce of a partner she'll end up looking elsewhere. 3. Ugly and single.
  9. Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday or Huddersfield would suit me
  10. You can't afford to keep your best players by paying them £100k a week and expect to keep progressing.
  11. I don't want to stamp on your dream jimmy but you sure you were there? We wore red and white stripes when we won at Wembley, the sash kit didn't come out until the season after. As for the game, Its also my 40th on cup final day and a watching us win our second major trophy in our history would be amazing. By coincidence the day when I was born we had an FA cup fifth round tie at the Dell, our opposition? Man united.
  12. Which is exactly why they should have made games count equally, home or away. If they had then it would have probably sold out by now and avoided the potential scenario we'll have if it gets down to 2 or 3 homes games counting whereby you could easily have people who just bought tickets to see a game or to see the team they actually support playing. If all games had counted it would have rewarded members who went to stoke, hull, Burnley etc, there weren't too many neutrals who just want to see a game at any of those in either end. Just to be clear his isn't about me either, I've got a ticket, this is about rewarding the most loyal fans regardless of where they live, which means the ones that have been to most games rather ones who can only bother going to st Mary's.
  13. Are you really that dopey? No one has said that at all, what many people have said is that home and away games should be treated equally. Your laughable arguement that away fans don't matter is completely nullified because you don't understand how buying away tickets work, ie if no one went away the club would still have to foot the bill for the tickets. So tell me dopey old boy, why is a "fan" who has been to 3 home games more deserving than one who has been to 6 or 7 aways? If it does go down to 2 or 3 games then there is also a chance that a non saints fan might get a ticket if they've just bought a membership to see a bit of premier league football now again. Still, I guess you'd rather that than a saints fan who can only make away games, what with the neutral paying into the club and all that.
  14. Of course they do, SMS for me is a 10 hour, 600 mile round trip, the closet game to me (Burnley) is 100 miles, 3 hour round trip. Which one I am I going to go to if I can only go to one game a month? Why were only home games counted? If someone goes to 4 home games a season why should they be prioritised over an away fan who has been to 4 aways? They should have counted each game equally, but they didn't and here's why, we are customers and away tickets don't bring the club any income, which is all they care about.
  15. Here's an idea, how about they open it up to fans who don't live a stones throw of St Marys but have been to more games than the qualifying criteria? You know, like fans who live 300 miles away and cant make it to St Marys every weekend but still go away. How is someone who has been 3 homes games more deserving than someone who has been to 7 aways? Club clearly don't give a sh*t about away supporters.
  16. Here's an idea. How about they open it up to fans who have been to 6 or 7 games an are members but don't like in a stones throw
  17. Unfortunately you are right. If he's a great success it'll be more luck than due to our self lauded great planning. The whole things has been a farce, the club knew for months Fonte wanted to leave, i read somewhere that once he did our top targets price went up by £5m. Well whose fault it that? Other clubs knew we were desperate and were trying to get a bit more cash out of us and who could blame them. They had us over a barrel particularly as only a few days later we lost our only decent centre half to a long term injury. Then because we try to do things on the cheap we're left scrambling around after the window shuts trying to sign players who haven't played for a year. The whole thing has been an absolute shambles and not a business in control. I have a lot of respect for les Reed for what he's done for the club since he's been here but the last year or so it's seems like he's lost his way, two poor transfer Windows, a poor choice of manager and now clearly not in control or so great at planning as he tells everyone he is.
  18. Wait for it. "Martin is player we've tracked for a long time, he was someone we looked it before Claude was here. He is a quality international player and we had the opportunity to sign him. Players of this quality don't often become available so we've had to work incredibly hard to bring him to the club. With martin on board with have centre back options as good as anyone in the premier league and he is the a tremendous addition to the quality we already have at the club"
  19. I'm in the same boat as you mate, went week in week out at the Dell, SMS, the crap times on the way down to league one, I remember going to away games In the 90s when we'd have a couple of hundred fans there and be glad just to see a shot on target. Had a season ticket for years. 4 years ago I moved up north for family reasons and now a home game is a 10 hour, 600 mile round trip, with a young family not something I can do very often, especially as work takes me away from home regularly during the week. I still go away though and still a member, would have qualified for the top level of membership applications if they'd counted all games but as they only count homes I'm miles away. I didn't even qualify via northern saints as haven't always used them for tickets, booking them myself. Luckily for me a mate has managed to sort me out a ticket in club Wembley so I will be going but that's due to him calling in a few favours. I do feel let down by the club that they haven't given a second thought to fans that don't live in an SO postcode. It's to like they even gave northern saints a slightly bigger allocation, it was just the small amount they usually get. I've no problem with season ticket holders getting first dips but outside of that its not been a fair way of allocating tickets.
  20. Why would saintsweb stuff appear in the media? It's a forum full of helmets who don't know what they are talking about (with a handful of exceptions)
  21. I see Brexit has left us short of courgettes and lettuces FFS
  22. Fortunately for me I've managed to secure tickets in club Wembley away from all the riff raff. Imagine my delight when I saw on the list of things banned were replica shirts, badges, foam hands, hats and face paints. Just normal people not desperately trying to prove how crazy they are, that they're not as boring as they look. I'll leave the superfan mongfest to the wallies in the cheap seats and sneer at them from a position of superiority like I always do. Still doesn't remove the fact that the club have shown they don't care about fans that go to away games. #awayfansmatter
  23. Completely agree, I don't buy all the nonsense about his wage demands are too high. Lets not be naïve, clubs and agents talk all the time, Saints will know exactly what wage demands a player will want before they even approach the clubs they are playing for. It's not like they do all the hard work and then when they're sitting round the table thrashing out the deal the player then says "I want £110k a week" saints then reply "sorry we can only go to £60k a week, adios" We've known Fonte wanted out for six months, we have all these claims that we know who we want replace out going players long before they leave, we've always got stacks of players lined up etc, will this has been proven to be utter bo*llocks. The reality is that because we didn't have anyone lined up we were over a barrel and you cant blame agents for trying to squeeze a few extra quid out if they cant, that's their jobs. The reality was the summer window and the January one have been terrible. I like the sound of Gabbiandi but once Fonte decided to go then our absolute priority should have been an experienced defender and the failure to land one even on loan is shambolic.
  24. How about offering it to some fans who go to lots of away games but it isn't feasible to be a season ticket holder, like ones who live miles away and went through all the bad times as well as the good. The ones who the club in discriminating against by only counting attendance at home games. These fans put more miles and spend more than a season ticket holder who never goes away. #awayfansmatter
