Sky Sports - No 'top' players leaving Southampton this summer.
Turkish replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
I have always maintained the dwarf did a good job until 2/3rd of the way through our championship season then it all went to sh*t. His ego ran away with him. I warned time and time again on here what he was doing and was shouted down for being a troll, having an agenda against Cortese etc. Some of the things like the spoon incident, getting banned from a city centre restaurant and his own, private toilet were funny but also a measure of what the crazy dwarf was like. Then there were his transfer dealing as well as treatment of existing players, the decreasing commercial revenues despite two promotions, the revolving door of senior back office staff who just couldn't work under him and of course the debt and the loans the list goes on. Yet people wouldn't have it. -
I'm genuinely intrigued as to why someone who has spent much of their life researching the club, writing books about the club and they are very good books, whilst presumably making a reaonable income along the way appears to hate absolutely everything about it.

Going to have to find something else to Moan about now, sure it won't take long although this has Been a hobby horse of yours for a few years now.

Matthew, think about it. We claim to track managers for years, we know exactly who we want to replace an outgoing manager. What an amazing coincidence the the last 3 managers we've tracked for years were all out of work right at the time we needed them. Funnily enough so was everyone else linked with the job, what a coincidence, every single manager we've been tracking for years were all unemployed when we interviewed them.
-
Another manager who is unemployed. What a coincidence that that every time we need a manager the one we appoint who we have been tracking for years and our top target all along is out of work. I wonder if the black box will start throwing up players from the Spanish league or Argentina now we've got one who has worked there, just like it started spitting out names from holland and French by coincidence when koeman and Puel were here. Welcome Mauricio, I hope you do interesting interviews or fans will be on your back before we've played a game.
-
You mean a 90% of a manager who doesn't speak English, has no plan b, isn't interested in the cups, only makes like for like substitutions, his tactics don't work when we go a goal down. Yeah sounds great.

Why the hell not? It's just an amazing coincidence that when we had a Dutch manager who had previously worked in the Dutch league we signed a lot of Dutch players or players from the Dutch league and when we got a French manager we started signing players for the French league. We've been tracking all these players for ages don't you know. Much like whenever we need a new manager the one we hire is by coincidence currently out of work.

Love it. A shirt for all seasons. Winter it'll look amazing over my hooded top with Ill fitting boot cut jeans about 3 inches too long crunched up at the ankle over my crap trainers. Summer it'll nicely frame my pot belly, worn with awesome 3/4 length shorts. Can't wait to wear it whilst I'm stand in pubs, gut hanging out, singing generic football songs at the TV. Well done saints, I'll definitely get my £50s worth.

WIll he still be drinking real ale, wearing tight jeans with turn ups, a cheque shirt, new balance trainers with a beard discussing left wing politics?
-
I wonder if Dwight Yorke will apply then play the race card when he doesn't get it.

What about the book of hilarious one liners for the media to keep the dribbling, fat messes that call themselves fans entertained?
-
Probably the right decision in the end. Feel a bit sorry for him, poor summer transfer window, injuries to key players, had to play half a season without a striker who could score regularly then the other half with one of the worst centre back parings in the league. He may not have been the right fit for us but some of our pot bellied, dinlow fans wanted him out since the end of August because he didn't crack jokes in the media. The whole thing about him being boring is pathetic, I'd rather have someone like Puel than a slimy cockroach like Klopp playing up to his wacky character image he likes to portray. Whoever our new manager is he better make sure he's got a book on one liners to keep our knob head fan base LOLing.

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t

one thing is for sure, whatever the nationality or country the new manager had previously been working in, the black box, will be throwing out names of players who have been playing in that country like confetti, by an amazing coincidence all of them will be long term targets that we've been monitoring closely for years. -
Hate to admit it but it would appear you're right. We've seen all this before several times now and as Eric B posted a couple of weeks ago to expect to see well brief articles regarding Liverpool in the media, well look at what we have here. Pretty obvious that we want to make it look like we've done all we can to keep him, demanded a big fee (which will be undisclosed) but at the end of the day the player wanted the move and forced it through yadda yadda. Same pattern time after time.

So not joining Saints then.

One thing we do have in our favour is that Tuchel will be use to large passionate home ends having been manager of Dortmund. He will no doubt be better equipped than most managers for the passion that cascades down the terrace of the chapel Kop. Although nothing can quite prepare you for the electric atmosphere inside the St Marys cauldron of bantz, Tuchel of all the managers in Europe he will probably be one who would be most used to it having experienced a more dumbed down version in the Westfalenstadion.

Your words. "I expect Southampton to announce either an expansion of St Mary's or a relocation to a new stadium relatively soon." "Southampton won't be able to do any major work during the summer of 2015 as it hosting Rugby World Cup games. So given the planning application length and the length of construction we might see work over 2013 and 2014 perhaps?" Cortese was still here during 2013 and nothing happened.

Why do all the must hipster must appointment managers end up doing spectacularly badly? yakin in the Swiss league 2 and last years favourite Paco Jemez sacked after a handful of games in his next job and now managing in mexico somewhere

Good thoughts, i agree with a lot of what you say and I agree that we have moved on as a society where racism practically doesn't exist anymore. A lot of these comes down to education from our parents like you say. I always felt I was fortunate to have two white, English parents. I always remember when the first black family moved onto our estate in the early 80s my parents encouraged us to be friendly towards them as some of them are nice people, to talk to them like they were our friends and when we learnt to trust them they could play football with us and that the black lad would probably make a really good winger but don't let him go in goal as they aren't very good there. We also should not expect him to come and play with us on a February morning as they don't like the cold weather. We became really good mates and even had nicknames for him like Sambo and milky and you knew what? he absolutely loved it! Having white, English parents was a great benefit for me because it really helped me appreciate their way of life and understand their strengths and weaknesses and what a great people they are.

Did this ever start? https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?37346-St-Mary-s-What-we-might-expect-to-see-happen-(and-possibly-announced-soon)

if only MLG would start a stadium expansion thread and I might be tempted to stump up a fiver again

I've said before and i'll say it again, he did a decent job in L1 but his ego ran away with him once we got into the championship and he was out of control. He was an absolute c*nt as a bloke too, could be charming when he needed to be but an unhinged bully a lot of the time. As Eric B says, a few on here, myself included knew fair bit about what was going on behind the scenes when he was there and it wasn't pretty. He had to be got shot of before he did any more damaged. As for it's alright him running up debt to get us into the Premier league, well that isn't what he said he was going to do... "Clubs spend money they do not have; they spend next year’s income. They spend money that will not arrive for two years and say, "But we'll have some success and bring in more cash to cover the shortfall". It cannot be sustained. In good times you need to be saving money for the bad times. If we reach the Premier League, I would like to be in a position where we did not need parachute payments. In good years you should put money away for the bad years" Nicola Cortese March 2010 - The Times
