Anyway good to see we have gone back to 4-4-2 as I advocated in the Brazil squad thread. Once we call up Shawcross, Cattermole, Nolan, Noble and Carroll we'll be almost there.

Smalling is pretty average but other than that it's probably our strongest team We could put out isn't it.

Fair comment, he might not be good enough. He's untried at this level before so no one knows if he is god enough for it or not .

Yep, most people are far more knowledgable on football on there and the **** taking is good, particularly the SturomseySaint baiting who regularly gets rinsed on there. Half of the threads would be locked or have people whinging about people ruining them if they were on here.

Frances 0-2 defeat in the Ukraine certainly puts into perspective injury hit England's draw there a couple of months ago. Lots of whining on here about negative tactics and how crap we were they night. Just goes to show they aren't the cannon fodder some on here made out at the time.

Cleverly actually reminds me a little bit of Lallana when he first broke into our team, people said the same thing about him. They said he was light weight, not quick enough, no one knew his best position and so on. He's no where near as bad as a lot of people make out and as has been said he's actually technically very good, just doesn't really do enough or impose himself on games and as with a young Lallana no one really seems to find a positon for him. Of course the big diffence is Cleverly is 24 and playing for Man United so should be coming into his prime in the next year or so so really needs to kick on, Lallana was 21 and just starting his career in a championship club and has developed into an excellent player, if we're all honest with ourselves probably better than we expected.

What's wrong with Micheal Carrick?

Classic example, Jason Puncheon seems to have had his best games with us since he left and one we really should have kept hold of because he offers something different yet were turning their nose up at Scott Sinclair.

Then there are others who dont have the mental capacity to beleive that any player anywhere might be better than a player playing in the team they support.

Not quite sure why some are laughing at Henderson. As others have said he's become a pretty decent players and having a good season. And also dont forget he has that all important quality of being young and hungry so therefore guarenteed to improve which applies to all Saints players under 25. Still i suppose admitting he is a decent player now would mean actually watching the game and understanding what is going on rather than simply jumping on whichever bangwagon is rolling at the moment.

So we agree on most FACTS pal. As for the first FACT, who would you rather have in your team pal. Cazorla, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Podolski or Cameron Jermone, Geoff Cameron, Steve N'ZOnzi and Michael Kightly? 11 v 11 pal, England v Germany/Spain/Brazil which 11 would you say is the most gifted pal? Did people enjoy playing against the Wimbledon team of the late 80s pal? They woz aggressive weren't they pal? Do you think Liverpool enjoyed playing against them in the 88 cup final? better players but lost pal. I get your point pal. You're just not making sense pal.

Answer these questions pal. Did Stoke over achieve reaching the FA cup final, play in Europe and top half finishes with the players they had pal? Are England players technically as good as Spanish, German and Brazilians pal? Have England constantly achieved or failed in tournaments pal? Do people like playing against 'Orrible aggressive, some might say dirty players, pal? If England played a full strength Spain, Germany or Brazil tomorrow and tried to beat them at their own game would they win or lose pal? If a team doesn't have as good a player as their opponents do they do the same things that have failed them in the past or try something different pal? Over to you pal....

You may recall a few weeks back I posted a copy of the email I sent to tellrupert@saintsfc.co.uk recommending a young French midfielder called Morgan Schniderlin to the club after seeing him play whilst holidaying in France.
