okay, Schinderlin is worth £35m and not a penny less. Ings is being quoted at £8m he has a year left on his contract so he must be worth £15m if he had longer.
-
when he moved from Stuttgart to Madrid 4 years ago (yes i know it was 4 years ago) he was still a German international and "only" cost 14m Euros.
-
Surely we'd do our due dilligence before making a bid. Sound his agent out if he'd be open to a move, what fee would they want, how much he'd want, speak to people at the selling club when we make an enquiry so we dont waste time on a player whose wages/fee is well beyond what we are willing to go to. I would be amazed and very disapointed if this didn't happen and we plucked a figure of the sky and hoped they'd accept it.

He's an excellent player but Khaderia who plays in a simliar positon, plays for Real Madrid and has a world cup winners medal was being touted around at just below £20m.
-
I get the whole thing of not offering what people want first but it seems a pretty pointless excercise to make a bid you know full well isn't going to be accepted. It's not like FM where you click a button and if they say no click a couple more and make a new bid with 20 seconds. Also Celtic are well within their rights to demand top whack for him. Good young keeper who is a key player for them.

"Dorkish" called this one a long time ago. It's a farce when you can have Chelsea loaning players to Everton and Liverpool. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?46651-The-Loan-system

That's the reality. The alternative that they live by is that if they want to win the league and champions league they support someone else.
-
I really dont know where people get their figures from. How on earth is he worht £35M??
-
Hope nothing bad has happened to him He's probably just taking a break from here I do miss him, he's a nice bloke and loves an emoticon I'm sure he's fine and will be back posting soon Say hi to him from me

I get the whole thing about opening bids and so on, but there is no way on earth they'd accept that, in fact it's a p*ss take if true.
-
Still think they're a centre back and DM away from being genuine contenders.
-
please stop calling him RoKo. FFS.
-
so you were talking utter boll*cks whilst managing to let everyone know you were going to spend tomorrow on a plane, no doubt off to somewhere very exciting, then slipping in a golf story. Just a typical golfing phil post then. good work.
-
He was supplying rickie van wolfswinkle.
-
And was playing in a dreadful team last season
-
Shame really, I was looking forward to the film Nick Nack and the great glass elevator being available on DVD in the club shop.
-
Interesting stuff. Pretty strange that Koeman would find a player doing extra training as a negative thing, surely it'd be a good thing that a player would want technique and physical strength.
-
True. We could have has £15m worth of training ground improvements for £15m, rather than £30m

It'd been worth it if we had something to show for it. A good cup run, a semi final, a final, bo*locks, who knows, even winning the damn thing. But no, that isn't what the management of SFC wanted and some of the fans were duped into believing that it was all about building for the next season where we take our rightful place in the top 4. It's a real shame that arugably the best team we've had in 30 years has got nothing to show for it but it's an even bigger shame that the management and some of our fans were too arrogant to think that the time to push for some silverware was then and that given the way the draw opened up in the FA Cup it'd be a long time before we'd get a better chance of winning a trophy.
-
Typical that it's fashionable now for Jos to be the forum whipping boy. No he isn't good enough to start and should ideally be used as little as possible but wil we get a better 4th choice? Hoolveld really struggled when we first came up, but so did everyone and he didn't help having Davis behind him and Fox to his left. Lets not forget Hoolveld played in two of our best performances towards the end of the first season when we beat Liverpool and Chelsea.

As someone that writes a football blog i'd expect you to know abit about football, this comment proves not. You seriously think Gazzaniga and Boruc are much of a muchness?
-
You've done well, used to the forum hardman and now a far more amiable character.
-
That's what I thought. Were picture of him in Belgium weren't there?
-
Rumour on TUI that he has been sacked for breach of contract, refusing to train. Means we retain his contract and registration but don't have to pay him. Seen on the UI so no idea if true or not.

The Cortese junkies were absolutely indignant that our unstoppable march up the table would ultimately result in us taking our rightful place in the champions league in our 50,000 capacity stadium with or team full of academy graduates all ignoring Man United and £100k a week because they loved the chairman. It hasn't quite panned out like that as those of us who had a realistic view said it wouldn't. The league cup was beneath us as we saved our players for the push for 7th, the FA cup, the Europa cup, well who needs it, we're better than that. So as the best players do what some of us always said they would and go and play for the top clubs earning the top money and we need to replace them, the cortese junkies are currently experiencing something similar to the scenario to the one in Trainspotting where Renton was locked in his room trying to get off the smack. They'll get over it, but its a long and difficult road.
