Another good one was in the last world cup qualifers when Ireland played Sweden "is Richard Dunne v Zlatan Ibrahovic the biggest mismatch in history" It gets people phoning in though and that is Talksports Raison D'etre

Talksport is troll/mong radio. I went through a stage of listening to it a while back and they really do talk utter sh*te. A classic case was when Rooney was left out of the Manchester United side against Real Madrd. This is what happened... Paul McGrath gives an interview where he says he wonders if Alex Ferguson trusts Rooney in big games Alan Brazil follows this up and says - Rooney out of the side, is this the end for Rooney at Man U? A 20 minute or so discussion follows then A reporter from the Mancheter Gazette or whatever it's called is on the phone says it's unlikely he'd leave but if he did only PSG and Chelsea could afford him Alan Brazil comes back on, So lots of people saying Rooney might be on his way out of Old Trafford with PSG and Chelsea already linked This started a day of people phoning in and discussing this with a large number of ex pros and mong fans calling in saying why he will/wont leave. The next day day the red tops were running a "Rooney being forced out of Old Trafford" story In many ways it's brillaint radio as it get's what they want and people talking about them and phoning in. Unfortuantely 90% of the people that ring in are utter clowns and bite at all the stuff said, I expect they all post on their clubs forums too.

it'll be down south so the Kent one might work, quality idea, love it!!

Got to come up with something a bit different, everyone does football grounds and golf days these days. What are popular ideas, a room full of 80% blokes aged 30-50? Got to incoporate a couple of hours partner training on our products. Ideas i've had so far are Casino Night Burlesque Night Wine/Beer tasting Multi activity day - clay pigeon shooting, archery etc Been told the budget is relatively unlimited, within reason so obviously taking everyone to Vegas for a week expenses paid if off limits.
-
wasn't it the skate marketing bloke that took the contract off them and gave it Bishops? I got told Cedar wrote off some debt to help the club out when we were heading into/in admin. Nice way to repay them for loyalty if true.
-
It doesn't usually stop you.
-
Isn't that like most modern football fans of any club?
-
And look how badly it's gone! Cortese hasn't for much wrong has he! Maybe he knows what we want better than we do!
-
I suppose aome of you would like us to return to a5 size programmes we had under Lowe, the programmes that took us into administration.

THe fact that we are 6th and everyone thinks we have made a fantastic start shows how difficult it is going to be to crack into the top 6. There is a lot of talk about champions league and misty eyed enthusiasm spreading through the fan base but the reality is we've played teams mainly in the bottom half and are 6 with Man United and City performing well below par. The start has been fantastic and better than most of us expected however it shows how much work there is to be done if we are going to challenge for the top 6 slot some seem to believe is our destiny.

More insults, oh dear oh dear. You really have let yourself down on this thread. I'd have thought you'd have leartn a bit of self control at your age.
-
More patronsing. Good to see. Before i could answer, which i would have you started stamping your feet, bashing your keyboard and throwing around insults. On another note, another "friend" story. If the government introduced a scheme that if you fill out a form they'll give you a £1m you'd no doubt have "a friend" who would find it impossible to do such a thing as they didn't have a pen that worked and it was a disgrace that they should be asked to use their own pen on a government form for one of their schemes.

there was a suggestion the ankle problem, as it's not the first time its happened, might be gout. The strains are a real pain, especially today when i was feeling really good, just came with no warning. Obviously some issue as it's the same leg everytime, which is the opposite one to the ankle.
-
This sounds like a good idea. When a mate looked for trainers for the GNR they told him his running style was all wrong and it helped him.
-
Only stopping drinking during the week!! I'm 36, when i was 21 i got a bad ankle injury that ultimately led to my retirement from football, got my studs caught on a muddy pitch, went over on my ankle and tore the ligaments badly, couldn't play for about 5 months and i never really got back into it properly after that, always had a weakness there since then and from time to time that does flare up, so wonder if its related to that. As for pulls and strains, no never had a problem with them at all.
-
ha ha ha!! I'm glad you've turned up on this thread. Every now and again you think that BTF is the most idiotic person ever to have an internet connection and then you turn up to remind us she'll only ever be second.
-
You asked a question, one which was a preventative measure to the "work for benefits" campaign. I came up with a viable solution and then you got all arsey about it!! Saying i cant debate and i should reread my "stupid diatribe" You may not like the solution or think its workable but the hilarious assertation that people cant debate follows you throwing around insults, absolutely brilliant stuff!!

Been getting out runnning a bit lately found a nice little circuit, first two or three weeks were fine, then for no reason my ankle swelled right up, it happened on saturday night when i'd been for a run that morning, no pain, no sign of anything untoward, woke up in pain with it on the sunday morning, this has happened on 3 or 4 occasions. Since then it's been one thing after another, that cleared up after a week or so, so went out again, second run, calf strain, cleared up again after a weeks rest and just went out for another run, streached properly and felt really good, when 18 minutes in, ping, calf goes again, hobbled home. No warning, no pain and as i say today felt really good and was running absolutely fine. Any advice chaps?
-
Like people who get all shirty because their view was challenged and the only response they could come back with was to throw around insults.
-
Oh look, now she gets all insulting, bless. BTF coming up with all sorts of excuses and reasons why people cant make an effort to get a job, Wail wail wail "Who will pay their bus fares?" - Wail, wail, wail "it wont suit everyone" If it was me out of work i'd do anything i could to earn money and make every effort to get a job, if that means i have to make a bit of extra effort then sobeit. Certainly wouldnt be a proffesional apologist like you try to be.
-
and certainly is "the Southampton way"
-
With 1.4m people claiming JSA how many of them live more than 2 miles froma job centre? I would put money on a fraction of them. What's a bus pass, £30-£40 a month? So with people claiming c£200 a month JSA plus other benefits if this scheme gets them back into work the bus pass will pay for itself very quickly, you do the maths rather than being so quick to be outraged and wail about how tough it is that out of work people should make an effort to get a job.
-
Good idea, or how about we rent a private Jet, all the season ticket holders go into a draw and the winner gets to fly to that game with Cortese?
-
If they live within a certain distance, say 2 miles, then they can walk. It takes 30 minutes maximum to walk that distance. Over that then they should be given a bus pass. Why do you think they wouldn't take things like that into account? Would he? got an insight into his finances have you? Dont schools to after school clubs these days? There will always be some people who it doesn't suit 100% or will wail "IT'S NOT FAIR!!" but if people want a job they'll do what they can to get one. Glad to see youre doing your usual and being outraged and objecting for everyone else.

Went to Egypt in October 2 years ago and it was 35 degrees. Didn't like Egypt though, great snorkelling by Sharm is sh*thole. Also been to Morrocco in October and November and it was high 20's. Agadir is decent and cheap.
