  1. its probably best you don't go if you're one of those blokes that has to buy the missus a present everytime you leave the house without her.
  2. Well they better get used to it as if we achieve our stated aims then Sunday kick offs will be the norm.
  3. 2nd in L1 2nd in the championship 2nd in the best defence in Europe table Nicola Cortese, the perennial runner up.
  4. What about our bread and butter of league football? We are top 4 now and getting low crowds for attractive games. Of people can't afford it now surely this would only have a negative impact on attendances if fans were asked to stump up for at 3 more midweek games too.
  5. People are already whinging the cost is too high and the kick off times don't suit them. What will they say when we are playing European football and most kick off times are moved to Sundays together with regular midweek games and the additional cost associated with this? If we make the champions league and people have to stump up £45 for Napoli followed by £40 for Swansea at 1.30 on a Sunday in 2016 would we expect both games to sell out as they should do for a top 4 club playing champions league football?
  6. Set up a Facebook group to protest but go anyway.
  7. So why are the club charging £35 a game? Surely if the revenue didn't matter then they'd let people on for a tenner.
  8. You better get used to them, if we make it into Europe 3pm Saturday kick offs will be as regular as striped shirts.
  9. I don't buy this Sunday lunch time excuse. This is the premier league, 3pm Saturday kick offs every week are a thing of the past. Are attendances going to go down if we achieve our stated aims of European football?
  10. Well 3 games in our average is lower than last season despite us doing much better.
  11. Do you think it's a good business model to spend say £18m on expanding a stadium and then reducing prices? Why would this make any sense?
  12. Sundays low crowd seem to suggest so. This one had all the ingredients of the matches we were assured we'd need an expanded stadium for. £35m invested in the summer, a team full of internationals challenging at the top of the table and attractive opposition. Indeed the various radio pundits were raving about how much they were looking forward to the game. This wasn't the view of saints fans though as we only sold 4,000 tickets to casual fans with the same amount of seats remaining empty. This was one of the games we were assured we'd need a bigger stadium for yet we got a crowd only sightly higher than our championship average. People have said it's too expensive on here in the past so perhaps the cost is now starting to see attendances dip and talk of expanding the stadium which we were told was desperately needed a year or so ago was premature.
  13. And to think some on here wanted him thrown out of the club........
  14. You need to look up what the word supporter is. HTH
  15. Here's an idea, how about you back the team and who picks the team whilst you're at the game and berate their performance after it, in the pub, on here of wherever you want away from the ground.
  16. In my house you're know as Scotty off the mongboard :-)
  17. What does your 6 year old say about him? He must have been devastated when Guly came on.
  18. I Was going to post something similar but decided not too. He was an utter c*ck when he was a player here, used to see him in the Rhino a fair bit c2000-2002 and was really full of himself and playing the big i am all the time.
  19. Ironically our first goal came about due in part to an error by Swanseas left back. Not tracking Lallanas run. ALso no one has mentioned Fontes underhit backpass which almost led to a penalty and cost Lovern a booking, if that had been Fox people would have been in meltdown.
  20. it was the same with Guly last season and the second half of the championship season. He'd give the ball away and be lamblasted for it, then one of our golden boys would do the same thing and be given a round of applause for a great effort or good idea. I'd hate to see what our fans would be like these days if we were crap or struggling. Imagine what they'd be like if we were watching some of the crap that was served up in the mid 90s when we were generally awful until around March time.

Agreed and if you did ever you'd know what you were getting. An at best microwave heated burger or pie thats been sweating under lights for hours. Quite why people expect anything more than that is beyond me. I find it astonishing the amount of people who seem to determined to eat as much as possible as soon as they set foot inside a football stadium.
  22. Quite right, we won a difficult game against a good side 2-0 and are doing better than most of us expected at this stage, yet still people get on the backs of the players. Just like the abuse Guly got in the championship when we were top of the league and going for promotion.

There is a subtle difference between Southampton FC and Burger King or McDonalds, can you guess what it might be?

The bitterness on here is hilarious, win 3-0 away at a top 6 side and score 3 good goals and still they cant bring themselves to give the team and manager who are supposedly so terrible a bit of praise.

So if we'd just won 3-0 away at spurs and scored those goals I'm sure you'd say that was just a lucky result too, yes?
