  1. My view exactly. If I could only go to one game a season it'd be one which I thought saints would win, or at least had a good chance of. I go to see saints to see us score, win and play well, I've no interest in watching the other team or players or being gallant losers against a big club. One of the things that really got under my skin was the excitement of so called saints fans before we played Man United in the FA cup when we were in l1. The amount of people who claimed to be saints fans but never go to games who were badgering me to get tickets for them and updating their Facebook status with how exited they were to have got Man United tickets drove me mad.
  2. What people going to do if get in the champions league? The ground willl be virtually empty for those games wont it?
  3. Being a wacky kind of guy i love to keep people guessing!! Although we all know the answer to this, selling beer at £3.10 a pint means they will usually fill 90% of the available space on a weekend, however if they cut prices to £1 then they'd easily get another 200 punters through the door and would need to expand. Or maybe they could introduce the briliant dynamic pricing module of changing the price of beer depending on how busy it is, for example 50p a pint if it's quite and if it gets busy put the prices up, if it's full punters could expect to pay up to £38 a pint.
  4. It looks like its us that's in for a major form of torture instead then.
  5. I saw Gaston in Yates, every time he ordered a drink he gave it away. PMSL
  6. I saw Guly trying to get into Flares but he kept on missing the entrance PMSL.
  7. I had him down as a joiners sort of guy.
  8. I've heard it all now.
  9. So if the crowd is around 30,000 again is suggests the club have actually got the price spot on, doesn't it?
  10. So we spend more on players, more on wages, do better than any of us had hoped and you expect it to be cheaper?
  11. If results go our way, we can't catch Arsenal whatever happens but if WBA win at Anfield and we win we will be second, if we win we will be at least 3rd which is an incredible achievement and far more than we could have hoped for, yet still we aren't selling out. Isn't this what we were told the bigger stadium was needed for? Serious investment in the side and a team playing well challenging at the top of the table. I'm not really sure what saints have to do to get the fans to put their hand in their pockets.
  12. Another thing I don't get is those fans who go depending on who we play. Why? You aren't going to watch the opposition, you're going to support Saints.
  13. Not going to happen, we don't play with wingers.
  14. What would you consider an impressive achievement for MP given his significantly greater resources? CAn someone quote and he's got me on ignore.
  15. Quite, people do do that and if they see it a different way to the popular view then it's considered trolling and wanting the club to fail. I was very critical of the club during last summers transfer window, i didn't feel that we addressed the positions that needed strengthening as much as we should have and time has proven me right, with only three of the six players signed last summer featuring in our first XI this season and arguably only one of them considered a certain starter. However this season the club have got it bang on and made 3 quality signings in the positions we needed them. I also critiised MP a bit and said at the start of the season that the jury was still out on him, i've been proven wrong on that and we can now see exactly how and where MP has improved us. Happy to hold my hands up to that one, People often confuse criticism with wanting faliure when actually it's quite the opposite.
  16. For once you are correct Matthew.
  17. What a shame there isn't a tellnicola@saintsfc.co.uk address. It'd be perfect for all the mboard football finance experts to ask serious questions.
  18. I don't think its a striker that is the missing piece, we've two good proven goalscorers in the squad. The missing piece is what Ramirez was meant to be, that creative player who can do something a little different. We don't create many clear cut chances. We are superb defensively, have an excellent keeper, two good strikers but IMO we are that creative attacking midfielder away from being a real force. The problem is there aren't many around who are affordable for us.
  19. I thought there was a global anti saints agenda In the media?
  20. Turkish

    Osvaldo

Surely all that matters is how many shots he has?
  21. Of course some peoples cirmcumstance, like i'd imagine yours are, whereby you're a Saints fan that has moved to another country so it means going to games is very rare so i appreciate that. My own circumstances have changed recently which mean that after years of going to 95% of home games a a fair few aways i wont be able to attend anywhere near as much as a i used to. I'm more refering to the type of person that choses to support a club for no real reason and claims to be a fan. Like the bloke i've mentioned before that i met on holiday once who was a Norwich fan but decided he needed a premier league club to support so chose Chelsea, picking a team, buying a shirt and watching them on telly when they are on doesn't make you a fan.
  22. i wouldn't say it makes you a supporter, Loads of people buy football shirts. Do the thousands of Barcelona shirts you see around England these days mean that all these people are Barcelona fans?
  23. It depends on what your definition of a supporter is. Anyone can buy a shirt or sit on the sofa or in the pub watching a game, anyway can check the score of a game on their SKy sports app on their Iphone and then brag about how their team has won or dislay faux dispair about losing a game. It's easy to claim to follow a team when they are doing well in the premier league, that doesn't make you a supporter, it makes you a consumer. Supporters are people that actually do something for the club, that go to games, back and support the team in good time and bad and dont disapear like 10,000 so called Saints fans did in 2005 when we were relegated.
