If I was a magazine it would be NUTS

Bore off you weirdo.

You'd be the table with one leg shorter than the other three that rocks and no one wants to go near. If i was a in a music band it would be MADness.

This. It's this kind of wacky, mad behaviour that sets me apart from your average mongboarder. If i was a small pub snack to go alongside a pint of lager i'd be NUTS. FACT.

Teams know what to expect. For example centre halves that we play against know that we dont haven't had a striker that can play on the shoulder and bend or time theirs runs in behind the defence. They know we cant really break at pace on the counter attack. They know that we'll try and pass through them. I think we're a bit too predictable, it was great earlier in the season when it was new and working and it's great when you get an early goal or when you're trying to close a game out. I'm not saying we should start playing long ball but mix it up a bit more rather than doing the same thing everytime. And you know what, sometimes a driven cross into the area low and hard can cause panic in the defence and lead to all sorts of mistakes or defelections same with a long ball, not a humped aimless ball but a well targeted one with players making runs attacking it.

TBH i think it's you that isn't understanding the tactic. It's all well and good doing that when a team has to open up, we were fortunate early in the season that we scored a lot of early goals, hence we went onto steam roller teams. We were also a surprise packet so teams didn't expect us to pass it as well as we did. When a team sits back and holds it's shape it's not easy to pass through them no matter how good they are. Caridff, Bristol City and Leciester all held a shape and didn't let us pass it round them. It's at times like this we need to be more direct and sharper, both in movement of the ball and of players. How many times do we over play it, take a touch too many or one pass to many rather than having a shot or cross? It's all very well playing posession football but only good if there's an end product and a bit of penetration.

Interesting to see Forest up there. Look at them now, just shows how much a downturn in form can effect a team

Dickson is a good player and victim of Niges favouritism. He played well when called on last season and is better than Harding. For some reason Niges loves Harding and Dickson can't get near the squad regardless of the form Harding is in.

I'm mad and crazy, I did lots of metals things when I was young. Still do in fact. You just don't know what I'm going to say or do next. I'm the sort of bloke that can't walk past a pair of glasses without trying them on and looking round at everyone.

That would depend on the circumstances and the character of the players involved, some respond to a public slating.
-
I agree with this. Sometimes and with some players they need a good kick up the arse and to be told they haven't been good enough. Positivity also has to be tempered with realism and discpline. and ocasionally giving a player a good bollo*king if they're not performing.

Just who exactly is calling for Adkins to go? Except a few dins who text solent.

Realistic Expectations for the rst of the season...
Turkish replied to Born In The 80s's topic in The Saints
Hmm, considering we've only won three away games since the middle of August and two of those were against Coventry and we are yet to beat a team in the top half on their own patch, forgive me for getting too excited about our away form. -

If we were playing them at home i'd agree. But our away form is patchy at best. I just cant see us going to places like Hull on a february evening and winning. Blackpool are on fire at the moment and Leeds will have new manager sydrome by the time we play them. I geniunely cant see us getting more than 3 or 4 points from those games. -

Unless we halt the slide, starting this weekend, i think we'll struggle to make the play offs. We still have to go to West Ham, Blackpool, Hull, Middlesborough and Leeds. Can anyone realistically see us picking up more than 2-3 points from those games given our current form. I can easily see that being 5 defeats and momentum handed to our promotion rivals. Got a few tricky home games ahead as well. Reading, Derby, Burnley, Skates, Ipswich who seem to be improving. -
Utter rubbish. I give credit where it's due. God knows how we are second, 11 points from out last 11 is relegation form. The manager and players don't deserve credit at the moment do they? With the exception of Lambert who has played consistently well since the end of November? Has Nige won a game with his great tactics or turned a game with a half time rocket? Who deserves credit for playing badly?

I don't know why, he's very dull and has an odd outlook to say the least. This is the poster who thinks we can make the champions league in 50k stadium using the reasoning that they said man would never walk on the moon, remember? Got to love this place; anyone who doesn't toe the party line of everything is wonderful is a WUM or a a wrist slitter. Meanwhile the self titled intellegent posters ignore our relegation form, the claims of our chairman that we are going to win the league and skip to games just grateful that our form 4 months ago was good.
-
It's more than that mate. 3 wins in 15, that's almost half the season and three months of football. Don't worry though we've got the ex commercial manager at Man City "on the bus", new ticket barcode scanners coming in, still second, a fantastic chairman doing a wonderful job, played well for 45 minutes again Cardiff, the club is going places, in Adkins we trust etc
-
We are aiming high. We're aiming for the champions league I understand. Therefore this bit is the easy bit, surely?
-
Us fans might not have but our chairman did. And now we are where we are should be just be grateful that we've done better sofar than we hoped or subscribe to the mantra "in Adkins/Cortese we trust" afterall they said we are going for promotion. Anything less will be faliure, yes?
-
What a bunch of hysterical tarts. Apart from the odd loon texting Solent who has said nige should get the boot? Our form over the last 15 games is relegation form, if any of you are happy with that you are mental. I keep hearing a stamping of feet and "but we're still second" yes we are for now, mainly due to the faliure or our rivals to capitalise on our dreadful form. I keep hearing how good we are, we're still second etc but HALF the seasons results say we aren't as good as some like to believe.
-
Ah the training centre. You mean the one whic we've have planning permission to build for about 18 months yet no brick has been laid yet, a master stroke from the wonder chairman.
-
I keep hearing what a great job he is doing and we are the new Barcelona. Yet on the pitch it doesn't seem to be going according to plan now does it.
-
The usual kop out. Question the wonder chairman you must be a skate. And I was given infractions for calling someone a mong. Mods take note, we wouldn't want their being any double standards would we.
-
Let's hope you're right. a tricky game followed by a tough one next Tuesday. Fail to win one or both of them and fans won't be putting their fingers in their ears and screaming "we're still still second" to anyone that dares question anything anyone at SFC does or doesn't say we are brilliant every match.
