So you've made up your mind what you were going to do then. Any point starting this pointless, attention seeking thread then?

Notnowcato making a sh*t contribution as usual. Am i? Where is this??

I'm doing a better job now and earning more money but that is because i knuckled down when i came back into the industry. Going back i used to move round companies all the time thinking i'd do better somewhere else but the problem was that i'd be motivated for 3 months then fall into the same trap again of thinking the company was sh*t, the job was sh*t and i'd be much better off somewhere else or doing something else. It definitely all about attitude and (trying) to enjoy what you do.

Sorry mate, you did say. Looks good to me. I know what you mean, we get a few MMA and Kick Boxing guys coming along to Krav, strolling in thinking they are the dogs boll*cks and some of them are surprised at what it is like. THey teach that to win a fight you've got 15 seconds and need to get 4 good blows which is why it teaches to attack the most vunerable areas. It so much more explosive than what the other guys do.
-
looking back it was my attitude, bored, not motivated, lazy etc and always thinking i'd be happier doing something else. It's definitely down to attitude and appreciation that the grass is rarely greener.
-
And the other thing is what is to say you'll enjoy you're new career? A few years back i did hod carrying and brick laying for a while. Thinking it was going to be easy and i could become a self employed brickie earning a fortune. It was great in the summer, got a nice tan, keeps you fit and active but It's absolute sh*t in the winter being on a building site earning pretty average money in the freezing cold and wet, getting filthy and to be anywhere near competent takes a good 3-4 years, during which you'll be on sh*t money and make loads of mistakes, which is risky if it's your own business. I thought i'd be a lot happy than doing a sales job, i wasn't, so i went back to what i was doing, the job i felt so unfullfilled in before. only having some time out meant i had to start back a level or so down to where i was and on less money than i was before, was out of date with all the technology and lost all my old contacts. I love it now though, this is my career, this is what i do and i'm actually pretty good at it. It's not what you do but your attitude to it.

Wierd, i thought it was just about blokes who like kicking the sh*t out of each other. Follow your dream, you can achieve what you want etc etc. IS the reasoning of pushy unrealistic parents and self obsessed, arrogant teenagers.
-
Some of you wanting to do something more fulfilling should take a couple of weeks out and go and help build an orphanage in Rwanda. Then tell us if you still feel disastisfied with your cushy desk job and want to "follow your dream" like a cocky 16 year old.
-
A junior position? Didn't you tell them about your experience with verbal and were immediately offer the CEO role?
-
Following your dreams is bol*ocks, masterbation and the reasoning of a 16 year old X factor contestant. We'd all like a bigger house a better job a newer house. The media has let us believe we are a nation of potential rock stars, movie stars and sports heroes, all we have to do is follow our dream. Then one day you wake up a realise you've got the same hum drum existence as 90% of the rest of the country. Nothing wrong with ambition but the secret of being happy is appreciating what you have, not constantly chasing what you don't.

Sorry to hear you think you've got a sh*t job you find dull. Maybe you should all be a bit more grateful you actually have a job athe moment and a fairly decent standard of living, a lot don't and would happily swap places with you. So rather than a woe is me attitude about what you wish you had be grateful for what you do have, not everyone is so lucky.

Are you calling me a co*k?

Funnily enough there were a few birds there tonight making their debuts. The two regulars plus two newbies. Sadly the fittest one came along with her boyfriend. Was also told there is going to be another Southampton class starting on a Monday or Tuesday, which is ideal for me.

If I was a magazine it would be NUTS

Bore off you weirdo.
-
You'd be the table with one leg shorter than the other three that rocks and no one wants to go near. If i was a in a music band it would be MADness.
-
This. It's this kind of wacky, mad behaviour that sets me apart from your average mongboarder. If i was a small pub snack to go alongside a pint of lager i'd be NUTS. FACT.

Teams know what to expect. For example centre halves that we play against know that we dont haven't had a striker that can play on the shoulder and bend or time theirs runs in behind the defence. They know we cant really break at pace on the counter attack. They know that we'll try and pass through them. I think we're a bit too predictable, it was great earlier in the season when it was new and working and it's great when you get an early goal or when you're trying to close a game out. I'm not saying we should start playing long ball but mix it up a bit more rather than doing the same thing everytime. And you know what, sometimes a driven cross into the area low and hard can cause panic in the defence and lead to all sorts of mistakes or defelections same with a long ball, not a humped aimless ball but a well targeted one with players making runs attacking it.
-
TBH i think it's you that isn't understanding the tactic. It's all well and good doing that when a team has to open up, we were fortunate early in the season that we scored a lot of early goals, hence we went onto steam roller teams. We were also a surprise packet so teams didn't expect us to pass it as well as we did. When a team sits back and holds it's shape it's not easy to pass through them no matter how good they are. Caridff, Bristol City and Leciester all held a shape and didn't let us pass it round them. It's at times like this we need to be more direct and sharper, both in movement of the ball and of players. How many times do we over play it, take a touch too many or one pass to many rather than having a shot or cross? It's all very well playing posession football but only good if there's an end product and a bit of penetration.

Interesting to see Forest up there. Look at them now, just shows how much a downturn in form can effect a team
-
Dickson is a good player and victim of Niges favouritism. He played well when called on last season and is better than Harding. For some reason Niges loves Harding and Dickson can't get near the squad regardless of the form Harding is in.

I'm mad and crazy, I did lots of metals things when I was young. Still do in fact. You just don't know what I'm going to say or do next. I'm the sort of bloke that can't walk past a pair of glasses without trying them on and looking round at everyone.

That would depend on the circumstances and the character of the players involved, some respond to a public slating.
