Unfortunately for most lads of this age the car you'd recomend aint gonna be the car they want. Things like Fiestas, Polos are good first cars. ANything low engine size, below 1.4 i'd recomend. Just have a look at the car groups, obviously the lower the group the the insurance. Think you're going to stuggle to get insurance below £1k though.
