  1. We clearly aren't selling the area to them enough, Maybe we could take them out on the solent on Corteses sunseeker and show them reruns of Howards Way, they'll be sure to sign then.
  2. Seeing a badly dressed fat man offends me. Especially if he is wearing a shirt designed to be worn by an athlete, not someone who seems to have got lost on their way to a darts match.
  3. *stamps feet* But But But we are the new Barcelona. We'll be playing in the champions league soon with a team full of academy graduates. We've got the next Beckham and Scholes coming through. Man United have proven it can be done, why cant we do it? Everyone knows all you need is a good academy to make the champions league and all the players will stay forever ignoring more money and bigger clubs to fullfill their dream of playing in the champions league with their mates at Southampton. We'll be able to attract top internationals now because they'll buy into Corteses vision. They'll all want to join because we are near the sea and the new forest, West Quay is great for their wives to shop in and Highfield school is one of the best in Hampshire for their kids to attend. I really dont who why anyone would question where the internationals are going to come from.
  4. We should probably sign a couple of San Marino and Litchenstein internationals, that is all we'll need along with our academy players.
  5. Not my word WC. We've been told on here in the past that all that is required to be a top 4 club is a good academy and a good manager. We dont need to spend £100s of millions doing it, that is all we need to do. Man United have done it, they won the champions league with the home grown Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and Nevilles. Why cant we?
  6. Why? THey look great on middle aged blokes, especially ones that are at least two stone overweight, it shows of their beer gut nicely. It's also a staple fashion item to be worn over a hooded top.
  7. Of course the irony being that so many were quick to slag off West Ham fans for being arrogant only a couple of weeks ago for talking about being in the premier league. In anycase, we've already been told on here in the past we dont need to spend big, all you need is a good academy, we can rely on that apprantly.
  8. I love the way our internet experts know who we can afford and what our wage bill and cap is.
  9. What an utterly pointless thread. If we get promoted which international players could we sign. FFS. Do people really have nothing better to do than think about this?
  10. Including Jos H we spent near on £7m this summer, hardly modest.
  11. Lets hope Burrows has the decency to at least explain and retract his comments as he seems to have p*ssed quite a few people off with this, me included. We all know how much he hates people being offended dont we. I fear not though.
  12. This cant be true. Hypo said Cortese said we had too much money.
  13. What else would you expect? we are the new Barcelona.
  14. Like he did when the police *****ed up in Feb 2009 letting them out at the same time? How was Bradford a police failing? How was Ibrox? This is blatently a PR exercise to scare people into supporting his bubble. It is extremely bad taste to mention 150 people plus dying in disasters as a way of justifying a decision made by local police.
  15. Why is there any need to mention them? What have any of them got to do with getting fans to and from a game safely? All these things happened inside a stadium. Unless he is linking them to football violence then why is there any need to bring them up? Its nothing to do with the bubble. And it is in very bad taste that he would use these disasters to justify the decision. Regardless of if he ment to link them to football violence or not.
  16. Hillsborough = Police primarily to blame bad ticketing and overcrowding. Bradford - A fire that could of happened anywhere in wooden stands that where the norm in football grounds. Heysel - Allsorts to blame Ibrox - Fans leaving en masse and crush from stairwell which again i cant seen related to 'trouble'. I really cannot see the justification in mentioning any of those disasters. Unless your are doing so for PR scare tactics.
  17. he comes across as a man who loves the limelight, i wouldn't be at all surprised if this was deliberately said to shock.
  18. Here is the quote "We all too quickly forget the events of Hillsborough, Bradford and Stairway 13 and too readily deny the link between football violence and tragedy, as seen at Heysel." He is clearly linking the two and using them to justify his decsion. Which is pretty shameful.
  19. He's still using tragedies like these to justify his decisions. It's pretty vile taste to be honest.
  20. Just read that for the first time. pretty vile taste that someone would use this sort of thing to justify a contreversial decision. Not surprising though sadly.
  21. I for one, am glad you aren't going.
  22. You're not wrong mate. The Yoof of today couldn't live with the Junior Saints firm c88-93.
  23. Gordon Hobson? I always knew you couldn't spot a decent player. You probably think Harding is better than Fox as well.
