  1. not a vintage performance by any means but decent. Wednesday were poor and never looked like scoring, the only question was would we. Once we did the result was never in doubt and we played some decent stuff. Another comfortable in unspectacular win and three points in tuesday mean automatic promotion is a real possibility, well done lads. Barnard, hammond and Fonte were very very good. A word on Jonathan "jonno quick" Forte, got a feeling this lad will be a Saints legend.
  2. I took my Father in law today. He is a Yorkshire man, a Leeds fan but likes Saints because of me. He's been to SMS 3 times before when Leeds have played down here, today he sat with me inte Kingsland North and back in the boozer after the game he said unprompted "what a great set of fans you have got, they sing their heads off" Got to agree you lot were good today, i'm quite cynical of our fan base, think there is a lack of real terrace culture but you were good today, fair play.
  3. This is a ridiculous decision. Why do season ticket holders need 2 tickets? What about those fans who can only get to away games and aren't season ticket holders? What about those fans that aren't season ticket holders that go to every home game and most away games? I see we have a woman running the ticket office now i'd expect some more insane decisions on ticketing in the future. Women + business = Problems Women + football = problems Women + business + football = recipe for disaster.
  4. i went down yesterday to get 4 tickets and it's sold out. They have ordered another 1k tickets and are expecting them next week. You can still fill out a form with your card details on and they'll send them out when they arrive. There were quite a frew others down there at the time doing the same thing so if you are planning on going get down there asap.
  5. F*cking stupid 2 per season ticket holder. Someone who hasn't been to a game all season could get a ticket over a non season ticket holder who has been to loads. Stupid decision.
  6. This is the final straw for me, i really have had a gutful of SFC. I have been disgusted with the goings on at this club ever since the Liebhers and Cortese rolled up. I really dont know who they think we are and long for the glory days of Lowe, Wilde and Hone. The things they have failed to improve and introduced are shocking. We still have a dodgy PA system and queues so long for beer and food at half time it forces me to miss 30 minutes of every game. Our automated car park entrance system is a disgrace, only Cortese would introduce something which patronisingly wishes you to "have a nice day" as you leave the car park. What with us failing to spend as much as Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool combined in the transfer window to make sure promotion was a certainy and now to cap it all this! Why are our sponsors not Microsoft, Coke or NASA FFS? Who are AAP3? This is a 3 year deal FFS, we could be in the premier league with the least know sponsors in top flight. What really worries me is the top players will look at us and our sponsors and think we are small time, they wont want to join a club where the sponsors aren't as big as Carlsberg or Fly Emirates FFS. Thanks again Cortese, you've embarassed us in the transfer market, you've patronised us with you parking system now you are throwing away any chance of being a big club again with this short sighted an small time sponsorship deal. I am OUTRAGED and just about to compose a strongly worded email to the club telling them exactly what i think of them.
  7. Spot on post mate. You are right some people are more interested in threads creating crap songs which no one will sing or guessing who our new sponsor, our new kit, the standard of the pies and PA system. I started going to football in the mid eighties as a kid with my brother and old man and remember seeing all the stuff on the telly or the odd occasion it happening at Saints games when i was there so love to hear first hand stories from people back then. Give me a thread reminsising about Pompey away 84, or other away days with interesting and funny accounts from people that were there over a "New Song for Alex Chamberlain" thread every day of the week.
  8. 3 very good teams at this level went up as shown by their performance this season in the Championship. 3 poor teams came down, Peterborough have only really impressed the last 10 games or so, up until then they have been looser at the back than Katie Price. IMO Leed, Norwich and Millwall were better than them and would beat them. Out of the rest only Brighton and Orient are any better, promotion or play off challegers Swindon and Bristol Rovers (they were up there up until the last 10 games or so) have gone into a massive decline and the rest are on a par or slightly worse. Do you honestly think ourselves and Huddersfield are better sides than last season? So overall the league is weaker. I think some of you are kidding yourselves that this league is full of great teams playing fantastic football. The fact that Bournemouth have lost their 3 best players and manager and are still second whilst credit to them emphasises this. The only team that has played to their full potential this season are unsurprisingly running away with the league.
  9. Or how bad do you have to be not too. The 3 best sides from last season gone who are all top half NPC sides are gone, replaced significantly poorer sides. Peterborough, despite losing one of their best strikers in January and being sh*t for most of the season apart from the last 10 games or so are 3rd. Bournemouth, who have lost their manager and 3 of their best players were second until saturday and still in with a shout. Saints have underperformed for much of the season, in fact the only team playing anywhere near their potential are running away with the league. Lets not kid ourselves that this is a strong league full of great teams playing brilliant football, it's a poor league with a handful of half decent sides most of which are or have been underperforming.
  10. For anyone that thinks they aren't they have won 7 and drawn one of their last eight, tonight look nailed on to make it 8 wins from 9, scored 23 so far and conceded just 3. Phemonemal form.
  11. Because if they take the lead with 20 minutes to go you are talking about a totally different last 20 minutes than if the score if 1-1 going into it. The whole complexion of the game changes. I really dont understand why this is so difficult to understand.
  12. It never ceases to amaze me the sheer lack of football intellegence and logic when people post things like this. I swear some think that football is only played in each teams penalty area with no tactics, match dynamics or any other factor involved or effecting the outcomes. Had the penalty shout been in the 93rd minutes with us already 3-1 up then the score would have been 3-2 to us, however it was in the 70th or so minutes had they scored it they would have lead 2-1 and it would have been a totally different game, with us chasing it. There is every chance it could have finished 3-1 to them.
  13. bless 'em, makes me feel slightly guilty. A bit like stamping on a puppy with a broken leg.
  14. i think you need to check the rules mate, a player is not off side if the ball comes off a defending player, defelection, intercepted backpass or whatever. It was a goal. nothing wrong with it.
  15. tomorrow i'm going to give you and the rest of your shandy crew a slap.
  16. "Scummers, fawsands ov um!!!!!!!"
  17. Because i think if they dont go up this season they will do a Swindon, probably lose their best players to other L1 or NPC sides and struggle or at best finish midtable. They have massively overachieved this season and unfortunately the nature of the modern game is small clubs dont do well for a sustained period of time. If we are both still in this league next season i'd think we'd still be challenging for promotion whereas they wont be. The only reason they are on our radar this season is because they have overachieved, if they were struggling do you think they'd have built the game up so much? So no, not arrogant, realistic.
  18. But where do oppositon fans form their views these days? Its on other teams forums, you know like we do, posts on here from Bournemouth, Sheff Wednesday, brighton forums etc in the past and everyone on here slagging them off. If i went onto a league one clubs forum and saw them saying that a current premier league player would join them ahead of the Scottish champions and play champions league football, or that they are the most attractive side to join outside of the premier league i'd think they were arrogant c*nts, wouldn't you? BTW where is Tartan Owl? He's gone a bit quiet lately!
  19. No, it reaks of someone trying to stir up Bournemouth fans ahead of their biggest home game for decades. dont forget not only is this a "derby" but lose and 2nd place is as good as gone for them. We will be level on points with two games in hand. Its not just a local derby, its a promotion 6 pointer. The bloke is only doing his job as a local journalist FFS.
  20. it's called an inferiority complex, funnily enough it effects a lot of people 20 miles east of here as well.
  21. Nothing, there is plenty that do that anyway. Just means they wont have to miss 1/4 of the game by selling concourse tickets, they can watch the whole gam down there.
  22. Not at all, would their be dispear if we were in the top flight and lost at Man United or Chelsea? Of course not because we expect to win all the time in this league and dont in the Premier league. If you've never got that impression then you obviously weren't on here pre season, this is apparantly the season with no excuses, the season where failiure to achieve promotion is faliure and where some even said the play offs weren't acceptable. Some claimed we can sign anyone we want, just throw enough money at them, others said we are the most attractive club for any side not playing the champions league, still more people said that a player would rather join us than Champions league Rangers. Lambert is better than Torres, Saints would beat England, i could go on. Actually some of those comments are arrogant, they are just idiotic.
  23. I dont understand why everyone is getting worked up. All he has done is write a not inaccurate article, attempting to stoking up the "rivalry". All you lot getting angry about it are just doing excatly what was intended. If their cute little club and town want to put down the beach mats and zimmer frames and stand in the street calling us "scummers" let them. Bournemouth are on our radar for one season and one season only. Just remember, it's them doing all the talking, them claiming they dont fear us, them being spiteful. Let them get on with it.
  24. Really?! Why the dispear then everytime we fail to win? Who at the start of the season exepected automatic promotion? In fact many people on here said only the top 2 was acceptable, is that not arrogant? There is nothing wrong with being arrogant when you are good and when you deliver, but when you dont you end up looking like a c*nt.
