That cracked me up too. Got a lot of time for Haye, seems like a decent lad, funny and witty with a bit of a swagger which i like when someone is good at what they do. My Millwall mate used to see him regularly around Bermondsey until a few years ago when he earnt his decent money and said he was always a top bloke. Hope he smashes Klitchko.

Lest we forget we signed Scott Marshall & Perry Groves from them, it could be argued they are a feeder club for us.

i dont mind the 84 kit, got the red and blue one although not the new air florida one, mine is the older version, like the cup final 76 one too. Some of the foreign ones are decent as well, like the old Napoli, Roma, Juve, AC & Inter Millan ones. Although not a fan of football shirts full stop generally.

A proper link to a player in the foreign press - Innocent Emeghara
Turkish replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Brilliant, a link to a player we have all never heard of saying he doesn't want to leave his current club. Any reason why you felt this was newsworthy? Probably the only relevant part of that is that he is on holiday, as our most of our squad. -
but, but, but, but..What about Corteses vision? Our potential? our catchment area? us being on the up? Theo Walcott not being as good as Messi because he didn't stay with Saints? us playing in the champions league in 2 years with a decent manager and a team of players earning £20,000 a week which all came through the academy and have ignored advances from every other club in the world to stay with us? what about us being the English Barcelona??? there are no reasons for him to leave and every reason for him to stay.......

What amazes me about the game is that someone like Murray can have £16m of "winnings" without ever actually winning anything. The tennis equivilent of the Emirates trophy does not count. As for women getting equal money, of they want it they should play best of 5 as well. Womens tennis is awful, they shouldn't even show it on the telly, and as for mixed doubles, what's the point?

No, dont forget we were told only recently that we have "too much money"..... Could it be there is a spy in the camp? That someone is using our world class scouting network to pick out the best players available then tipping Leciester off as to our targets so they can trump our bids and ours get rejected before we can even start negotiatiing with players? That is the sole reason i can think os as to why any player would knock back this fantastic football club with it's huge fan base in favour of small fry like Leicester and Ipwich. Find the spy and smoke the bugger out FFS.

I remember going to games hoping we'd lose because surely then he'd be sacked. You know it's bad when it comes to that, yet every crap performance and result he still stayed somehow. The lowest point for me was losing 0-1 at home in front of about 9,000 fans and the sit in afterwards. No way would any clubs board ignore fan protests these for as long as they did then.

SPot on, i dont want to see us sign 7 or 8 players. THe core of the side is decent, in Fonte, Lallana and AOC (if he stays) we have arguably the three best players in their position in the division. I also think MS and Guly will be effective in the championship. I'd like to see us add two or three quality players now and then a further one in January. Evolution rather than revolution. Good teams are built gradually and overtime by adding quality, not ripping it up each summer and starting again.

I remember seeing him in a cafe in Leeds once when he was playing for Huddersfield, very good looking, well dressed chap as well as a nice guy and great player. In contrast i give you David Lee. One of the worst and scruffiest players to ever wear the stripes. What was going on with that hair cut? Bald bast*rd on top, Micheal Bolton at the back. Lasted about 20 games then loaned out somewhere equally as poor as where he came from.

I really dont know what people are expecting both in terms of signings and league finish. Surely this season should be considered a season for stability, establish ourselves in this division with a respectable finish of midtable and building a side for a push for play offs/automatic at a push the season after. Anything more is a massive bonus, anything less is a bit of a faliure. Anyone expecting more than that is in for serious disapointment.

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good
Turkish replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
No, that was Chris Nicholl, Adams was signed at the same time as Barry Horne iirc. -
Do you like Friends and find Micheal Mcintyre funny?
-
It wasn't so much his play that annoyed me, but the way he walked off the pitch when substituted, kind of strutted off full of attitude. Always felt a bit sorry for him as a player, must be tough leading the line on your own in a sh*t team run by clueless jokers.

I nearly skirted over this without a second thought but f*ck me, we finally agree on something!! I always knew we had the pontential to be good mates. I've just found you and added you on facebook and wondered if you wanted to start hanging out together. You could bring your guitar round and we could strum along to Kasbian tunes with gay abandon and i'll sign up to your club and we an go ghost hunting together, no trying to trap me in dingy rooms and try your luck though you naughty boy!! Now where do i sign up for it?

I've been thinking about this today and i agree. With Romsey, Winchester and Eastleigh near, Cortese investing, the new kit, season ticket installment plans returning, no fans boycott this time round, being on the up, no Rupert Lowe, Chelsea now getting 40,000 after getting 10,000 in 1984, Wolves expanding, West Ham moving to a new ground, Sunderland getting good crowds despite being being smaller city than us, Liverpool only being 4 times bigger than Southampton and having 3 clubs in the area all these factors coupled with them saying man would never climb everest, lead me to think you are not mental but that there is every chance we could get 45,000 every week if we were in the premier league.
-
Torres has lost it, give me Villa everday of the week.
-
I'd agree with you on your assessment there bessie. Dont forget Connolly as well, if he can stay fit would be a good squad player. We definitely need a bit of pace up front and feel we missed a trick with Tyson.

Careful pal, only one post left. What a wierdo, using up all your posts on me. I'd be flattered if it wasn't so odd.

Obsessive? Sounds like you you wierdo, commenting on pretty much every post i make. Get over it.

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good
Turkish replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
i dont buy the Pearson was the new Ferguson which some on here do, but he inherited an awful team who were in a massive decline at a club in termoil off the pitch. I dont believe he was the miracle worker some do but under the circumstances i think he did a decent job and he certainly addressed the flaws in the team at centre half, we were much more difficult to beat under him. -

How do you know? How do you know there wasn't better? I dont either for a fact of course, but do you seriously believe there wasn't a good championship level centre half available on a free or low transfer fee who would want sub £10k a week? I'm not talking about a world beater, just a decent pro. Of course we brought in Christian Daily in late September when Burley had sobered up enough to realise what most fans knew, that Makin was not a centre half and Bennett belonged at Wycombe where he ended up. -
Lets just hope we get one of them FFS.

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good
Turkish replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Of course the team was weakened by the loss of Bale, Jones etc. That season midtable was more realistic, but it was blindingly obvious through the previous season and the summer we need a big strong centre half. The money was there because we spent £1m on Saganowski and Safri, and then later £1m on Andrew Davies and £14k a week contract to Euell, et Burley failed to address it, something Pearson did immediately by signing Lucketti and Chris Perry, same budget.... -

Yet he signed Safri & Saganowski for almost £1m between them and Jason Euell on £14k a week. You cant tell me there wan't a free agent centre half available that would want half that.....
