  1. That was a terrible result, look at the effect it had one the team, if only we'd won 2-0.
  2. Just to turn this on it's head, by saying that win against a midtable side would convince you that promotion is do-able, at the moment are you saying that promotion is not do-able?
  3. Just like this week, 4 points from two games is a decent return. I'd be happy with 4 this week as well, delighted with 6 and disapointed with less. Some expect us to win every game, if we dont beat Colchester does it end our promotion hopes? No, but it makes it a little tougher, if we beat them does it mean we will go up? No, but it'll make a bit easier. People need to look at our form over a period of time, rather than if we win saturday i think we'll go up. We have only lost once in the league in 2011, despite us apparantly not playing well and all the despair from the usual suspects in January that all of our midfield was injured or leaving. Makes you wonder if the management do actually know what they are doing afterall....
  4. Dont be a c*ck, administration and 10 point deduction was, in football terms anyway, a disaster. Not being promoted whilst massively disapointing would not be a disaster. People need to get over this "if xxx scenario happens the Liebherrs will walk away". It's nonsense, do you think any decent business man after buying a business for £13m will just go "f*ck this, they didn't do as well as we'd hoped, i'm out" This isn't Dragons Den you know, i dont believe in the product so i'm not going to invest in it. THey own the club, do you think they'll just write off the money they paid out and put the closed signs up in the window? They willl have to sell the club, if they do then a League One club, punching below it's weight, in a premier league stadium, fan base most NPC clubs would be jealous of and no debt at all would surely make us an attractive proposition to anyone. In any case, i thought you'd be glad to see the back of them, given your constant moaning about out transfer activity during the windows, surely you'd prefer someone to come in who just throws money away signing player after player?
  5. You've got to remember that those stats include the Wilkins era when we were managerless, clueless and didn't win a game. The results in his last lay off are more of an accurate reflection on his impact. Of course we are a better team with him but i disgree that we are "Lallana picks up a knock away from a fooked up season".

We used to, i remember queuing up to get in the Milton as soon as the turnstiles opened, 1.30 i think it was, the singing would start about 40 minutes before kick off.
  9. Do you have a problem with reading? I said "which team isn't going to be better with the best player in their division in it?" Something i also said on the various discussions we have had regarding him. Hardly hypocrisy. By the way what happened yesterday? We hit the post twice, how can this be? Surely Lallana could have waved his magic wand and diverted the ball into the net or why didn't his mere presence on the pitch make Chamberlain and Gullys aim that 5% better to make the ball go three inches right and inside the post instead of hit it?
  10. You obviously weren't there.
  11. You can see they massively lack confidence and have no cutting edge up front. At times they knocked it about well. I dont think they'll finish midtable, they'll struggle to stay up. We did start well but after the goal we were very poor, dont let the scoreline or the last 20 minutes decieve you, it's easy to play well with a 2 goal cushion against a team on a bad run and no confidence.
  12. I really dont know what game you were watching then if you think we played well. At 1-1 did you think we were playing well? We were awful, we didn't raise our game as soon as they equalised. In fact they could have scored another and were well on top until our second goal. We kept giving the ball away, no movement, poor passing created nothing going forward. Adkins was going mental at the players, my seat was right behind the dug out. Granted, for the last 20 minutes or so we were very good, if that is because of Barnard and Schniderlin coming on i dont know, but it's easy to knock the ball around comfortably with a 2 goal cushion. Dont be fooled by the scoreline which i think a lot are, a better side, or even one with more confidence than Swindon would have gone on and won that game after their equaliser or at least got a point. I am happy with the win, but i think people need to stop being fooled by the scoreline, we beat a very average side who are going to struggle to stay up this season, this wasn't a performance like Exeter and Hudderfield where we dominated the game for 90% of it. Play like that against a better side and we will be punished.
  13. I'm not sure which game some of you were watching but it doesn't sound like the one i was. We started well, Chamberlain unlucky not to score when he hit the post, but after the goal we were awful. Failed to put two passes together and a better side than Swindon would have punished us, two or three times the final pass let them down when attacking and they clearly lacked confidence. Their equalizer was on the cards for a while and they were well on top until we scored the second. After the third goal we were well on top and it was only then that we played some decent football and could have scored a couple more, but make no mistake, for 70 minutes we were poor and 4-1, whilst a good win, did not reflect the game which against a better side thn Swindon we would have lost. And another thing, If Barnard doesn't start on tuesday Adkins is mental. GUlly was totally innifective, again, and Barnard looked great when he came on and caused them all sorts of problems.

  16. Jamie! Where have you been? I've missed you!
  17. Glad i didn't disapoint. It's called stating the bleeding obvious. Which team isn't going to be better with the best player in their division in it? Ye they have made a whole story about this. They do it every day with some boring stat or another about something completely uninteresting, like yesterdays article about which team has most games left against other teams in the top half of the league. THe fact that there are only 8 points between 8th and 18th and in 3 games time the top and bottom halves could look totally different seem to be ignored.
  18. the echo bore the f*ck out of me with their daily stats bo*locks. making sh*t articles out of nothing stories to fill up space.
  19. It's difficult to know what result would please him the most. Above he says a big win is good thing, then he says it could be detrimental as we didn't play well after winning 6-0 at Oldham, so winning well could be a bad thing. A narrow win wouldn't be good enough as we should be blowing teams like this away and a draw or a defeat, well, i shudder to think.

I wouldn't mind betting you'd get at least that many complaints at SMS FFS. As i said above the best way to do it would be to get the everyone who wants to sing in one place behind the goal in the Chapel and turn in it into a Kop. One of the best atmospheres i have seen at SMS was the MK Semi final when we had 95% of the Northam, it looked and sounded brilliant. If all the noise was coming from one place it would sound louder and spead to other areas. It's no conicidence where the grounds that have the best atmospheres have a stand like this.

  22. HOw do you think they will set up? A team who haven't won for ten games going into on of their tougest fixtures of the season aren't going to come and play passing attacking football are they. They'll park the bus, now for the obvious gag, lets hope it's Nigels bus they park and he is driving and moves it out of the way.

It could work and could be good but i wouldn't mind betting people in the Northam would moan, slag them off and not join in with them being vilified on here as childish knobs etc, we all know a lot of Saints fans seem to have a superiorty complex. I am off to Rome in September and will be going to Lazio or Roma depending on who is at home that weekend. Either way from what i've on telly the atmoshpere they create looks amazing.

If you look at the Ultras in Italy, France, Turkey and some of the eastern European contries their ends look fantastic with everyone stood up singing and big flags everywhere and flares. They take over and end of the ground as their own and are pretty much left to get on with it. For this to happen at SMS you would need everyone from the Notham , Kingsland & Itchen North in the chapel end and create that as our own end and make it like a Kop rather than having the singing diluted around the groud as it is now with than for some reason people thinking they need to be near the away fans. With policing in England at football today though get any sort of atmosphere going is quickly stamped upon by the authorities. We have seen people thrown out and given bans for things like standing up, swearing, or waving flags. Until the authorities lighten up a bit and allow people to relax and enjoy themselves at football rather than being desperate to eject and ban anyone that doesn't toe the line and behave like they are in sunday service at the local church.
