From what i've heard the Puncheon situaton was different because he fell out a few times, sulked, refused to travel with the team to a game, train etc, which was why he was banished to that squad to teach him a lesson and because he was seen as a negative influence. Butterfield has been more professional than that and continued to come in everyday, support the team etc.
