What local reliable press?
-
Let’s hope those deal sheets are ready!
-
I thought exactly the same 🤣
-
Yes on loan. If Chelsea do not want to sell him only wanting him here to develop for a year but we’ve been actively doing our best to turn his head then it’s unlikely they will go down the same route with us again. It’s really quite simple.
-
I’m the unlikely event that would happen we would make a complaint and that club would officially end their interest in the player
-
We may not be sanctioned but it would put Chelsea and any other clubs off dealing with us in this way in the future.
-
You sure? That injury stopped being fashionable about 10 years ago, it was the go to injury just after everyone stopped getting shin splints.

Get off the fence aintclever, either side will do!! -
£20-£25m should not be big money for us though. Most other premier league clubs have bought players for above this. It was only a few years ago we were paying that for Ings, Carillo Vestergaard. So £25m for a player like Broja shouldn’t be out of our reach. We’ve become so accustomed to this £15m price cap that anything above that feels like big money when in reality it’s a pretty standard premier league fee these days.

No one is deflecting criticism of the bloated berk. Simply pointing out your hero isn’t exactly beyond reproach -
So now they’ve changed the rules so clubs need 4 covid tests to get a game postponed. Good they’ve finally done it, but about frigging time. No doubt we’ll lose out due to this in the coming weeks.

I watched a bit of Ivory Coast v Egypt, two supposed “super powers” with a fair few premier league players. Absolutely bloody awful. And to think they were moaning that the competition isn’t taken seriously in Europe

Wonder what he’d do if he heard someone being openly racist in his presence….. -
I enjoyed the one where they were following Peter Odemwingie in his 4x4 trying and failing to get to QPRs ground before THE WINDOW SLAMMED SHUT. IIRC they wouldnt let him in as WBA hadn't accepted a bid yet and he had to go back to the Hawthorns with his tail between his legs
-
How can you not be excited by "THE WINDOW SLAMMING SHUT" reporters live outside stadiums with half hourly updates on a loan deal being completed, Jim White in the studio telling us all how exciting it all is, it's a tremendous spectacle.

Hammas are his friends, Martin McGuiness was a great family man, (must have heard that when he invited two IRA terrorists for tea after Brighton) Guess it must all be a the Daily Mail saying so though. 🙄 -
But their offer is supposedly £8m, so i guess it depends on what sort of deal Chelsea want, cant see us getting into, or winning, a price war with them.

I just listened to a very interesting podcast with Dan Carter, All Blacks legend, made a very good point that 25 years ago if anyone in Rugby went to see a pyschiatrist everyone would think there was something wrong with them, these days if you dont they think there is something wrong with them. He also directly attributes the all black failure in 2007 v success in 2011 down to their mentality, they believed if they trained more they'd win the world cup easily when it was their mentality of freezing when the going got tough, for 2011 they brought in a psychologist who absolutely transformed the teams mindset. I know its on a slightly different tangent to the theme but shows how attitudes have changed over the years and how much of a difference the right mentality can make to performance.
-
Yep, they're getting desperate, or at least the media are to link them with everyone. Although Broja might see them as a good long term bet regardless of what happens this season.

Report: Newcastle bid £33m for ‘brutish’ talent with just 10 Prem starts (hitc.com) Uh oh....
-
I just had a flashback to Les being "relaxed" about the Alderwierld situation, wonder if we'll threaten to sue Chelsea when he's unveiled at Newcastle.

Signing imminent give his track record

Remember we did a similar deal with them for Bertrand. One year loan but we ended up completing the deal permanently in the January window, i guess the remaining terms of the loan deal will be tied up in overall deal. Either way i hope we haven't wasted time bidding for him if Chelsea have no intention of selling and/or Broja has no intention of joining. You'd think that this is an encouraging sign on one or both of those accounts.
