Do you not think Redmond might be motivated if we gave him an attacking midfield leader type role?
-
I thought a lot of people on here champion not spending money on players as we dont want to block the pathway for the youngsters

The problem is labour has an identity crisis. It always used to represent the working classes And be the peoples party. Growing up in the 80s that’s always how it was, the tories were the rich, labour were for us council estate mob. Now it’s full of middle class university educated Woke freaks who want to be be seen to be representing BLM, LGBTs, virtue signallers who all think brexit is horrendous because that’s what they’re told to think. Until they go back to their roots they’ll never be credible.

Like it wasn’t obvious mr 4 eyes shit neck.

LOL We won’t be bringing in 8 players
-
Last time was ridiculous though. Rather than give it a go at getting back whilst we had the parachute payments we spent £100k of fuller and a load of over the hill free transfers despite selling crouch, Phillips for £10m combined and Walcott going in the January window. When you run a football club by a spreadsheet it rarely goes well. The clubs that’s come back up quickly don’t flog everything they can.
-
It’s painful because as a club we just exist. For a lot of our fans just being in the premier league is the be all and end all. For me that’s pointless. I’d happily swap a couple of European campaigns and cup finals for a few relegations and promotions. Few years in the premier league then go down, come back up again after being a big club the championship for a few years, then repeat. There is very little pleasure in starting every season with the sole ambition to still be in the same league at the end of it.

Tremendous defensive record, must be that settled keeper and defence....
-
Our worst run since 88/89 under Nichol?
-
Jesus wept. They’ve got a £40m centre back who Would get into most others teams in europe As fourth choice. Yet they don’t really rotate their keeper
-
I never said it had anything to do with tonight’s result. I’m really not sure why you’re saying it is. Simple Point is look back through history and in general teams who are successful with best defensive records pick the same keeper and centre backs every week. Of course there will anomalies to this like a team who can afford a £40m centre back as fourth choice.
-
Well people questioned Ron Greenwoods management at that time due to his rotation of them, so I guess you’ve kind of proven me right 👏👏👏
-
You’re twisting what I’m saying. I’m not for one minute saying we’d have won had McCarthy played
-
Yeh England smashed it during that era 🙄
-
Must just be coincidence that when we’ve had our best periods we’ve played with the same goalkeeper and centre backs week after week after week
-
We’ve been trying
-
Isn’t it now as bad as it was when Pellegrino got sacked?
-
That’s the problem we’ve got 3 average keepers earning £200k + a week between them.
-
City are probably the exception because they are the only team in Europe with a second eleven as good as their first choice. They don’t rotate their keeper every week though and also look at how they performed without Kompany in his prime. Look back through history the best teams always had a keeper and two centre backs who only didn’t get picked if they were injured or suspended
-
It’s a fact. The best teams have a settled defence and keeper
-
Doesn’t make SKDs point incorrect though
-
He’s talking about the defensive unit as a whole. Not his fault you didn’t under the point. He’s right, the changing of keeper is odd, unless it’s to give them both a chance to stake a claim for first choice next season. The best teams have a settle keeper and back four, which is the point being made
-
Yep. The chances Adams and Tella had 2 of those 3 are in the net if they fall to Ings. Two soft goals conceded as well. We looked a good side, some good performances, quality moves, just lacking a bit of quality with final pass and finishing
