  1. Here's an idea, how about they open it up to fans who don't live a stones throw of St Marys but have been to more games than the qualifying criteria? You know, like fans who live 300 miles away and cant make it to St Marys every weekend but still go away. How is someone who has been 3 homes games more deserving than someone who has been to 7 aways? Club clearly don't give a sh*t about away supporters.
  2. Here's an idea. How about they open it up to fans who have been to 6 or 7 games an are members but don't like in a stones throw
  3. Unfortunately you are right. If he's a great success it'll be more luck than due to our self lauded great planning. The whole things has been a farce, the club knew for months Fonte wanted to leave, i read somewhere that once he did our top targets price went up by £5m. Well whose fault it that? Other clubs knew we were desperate and were trying to get a bit more cash out of us and who could blame them. They had us over a barrel particularly as only a few days later we lost our only decent centre half to a long term injury. Then because we try to do things on the cheap we're left scrambling around after the window shuts trying to sign players who haven't played for a year. The whole thing has been an absolute shambles and not a business in control. I have a lot of respect for les Reed for what he's done for the club since he's been here but the last year or so it's seems like he's lost his way, two poor transfer Windows, a poor choice of manager and now clearly not in control or so great at planning as he tells everyone he is.
  4. Wait for it. "Martin is player we've tracked for a long time, he was someone we looked it before Claude was here. He is a quality international player and we had the opportunity to sign him. Players of this quality don't often become available so we've had to work incredibly hard to bring him to the club. With martin on board with have centre back options as good as anyone in the premier league and he is the a tremendous addition to the quality we already have at the club"
  5. I'm in the same boat as you mate, went week in week out at the Dell, SMS, the crap times on the way down to league one, I remember going to away games In the 90s when we'd have a couple of hundred fans there and be glad just to see a shot on target. Had a season ticket for years. 4 years ago I moved up north for family reasons and now a home game is a 10 hour, 600 mile round trip, with a young family not something I can do very often, especially as work takes me away from home regularly during the week. I still go away though and still a member, would have qualified for the top level of membership applications if they'd counted all games but as they only count homes I'm miles away. I didn't even qualify via northern saints as haven't always used them for tickets, booking them myself. Luckily for me a mate has managed to sort me out a ticket in club Wembley so I will be going but that's due to him calling in a few favours. I do feel let down by the club that they haven't given a second thought to fans that don't live in an SO postcode. It's to like they even gave northern saints a slightly bigger allocation, it was just the small amount they usually get. I've no problem with season ticket holders getting first dips but outside of that its not been a fair way of allocating tickets.
  6. Why would saintsweb stuff appear in the media? It's a forum full of helmets who don't know what they are talking about (with a handful of exceptions)
  7. I see Brexit has left us short of courgettes and lettuces FFS
  8. Fortunately for me I've managed to secure tickets in club Wembley away from all the riff raff. Imagine my delight when I saw on the list of things banned were replica shirts, badges, foam hands, hats and face paints. Just normal people not desperately trying to prove how crazy they are, that they're not as boring as they look. I'll leave the superfan mongfest to the wallies in the cheap seats and sneer at them from a position of superiority like I always do. Still doesn't remove the fact that the club have shown they don't care about fans that go to away games. #awayfansmatter
  9. Completely agree, I don't buy all the nonsense about his wage demands are too high. Lets not be naïve, clubs and agents talk all the time, Saints will know exactly what wage demands a player will want before they even approach the clubs they are playing for. It's not like they do all the hard work and then when they're sitting round the table thrashing out the deal the player then says "I want £110k a week" saints then reply "sorry we can only go to £60k a week, adios" We've known Fonte wanted out for six months, we have all these claims that we know who we want replace out going players long before they leave, we've always got stacks of players lined up etc, will this has been proven to be utter bo*llocks. The reality is that because we didn't have anyone lined up we were over a barrel and you cant blame agents for trying to squeeze a few extra quid out if they cant, that's their jobs. The reality was the summer window and the January one have been terrible. I like the sound of Gabbiandi but once Fonte decided to go then our absolute priority should have been an experienced defender and the failure to land one even on loan is shambolic.
  10. How about offering it to some fans who go to lots of away games but it isn't feasible to be a season ticket holder, like ones who live miles away and went through all the bad times as well as the good. The ones who the club in discriminating against by only counting attendance at home games. These fans put more miles and spend more than a season ticket holder who never goes away. #awayfansmatter
  11. Benvenuto a st Mary's Di mister Gabbiadini calderone Di bantz.
  12. He stated one of his reasons for joining was seeing the chapel Kop in full flow sent shivers down his spine, he said it was like a more passionate curva nord in Naples, calling Southampton the Naples of the north.
  13. There will be at least 2 saints fans in the club Wembley section I agree with you, had plenty of games but only one of them was at home so won't get one through the club. It's completely ridiculous that away games don't matter. It's not like they gave decent amounts of tickets to supporters groups either, northern saints just got their standard allocation for a match. Although club Wembley might be full of corporates the following are on the banned list Replica shirts Face paints Hats (no jester hats) Anything with a club emblem Foam hands So in many ways it sounds like heaven.
  14. I watch ALOT if Italian football, in fact napoli are my Italian team and I can tell you this guy is the perfect saints signing. He's get everything we look for in a player, plus £10m fee, runs around a lot, has got good hair, easily adaptable to fit one of our generic songs what with him coming from Italy and therefore no doubt f*cking hating Pompey! He's inconsistent enough that he'll have games where we can ironically cheer him, but good enough that some days we'll label him world class. one talent he does have is decent shooting from distance so our fans who hilariously shout "shoot" when a players gets the ball 45 yards from goal will be very excited by this one. Go get him Les!
  15. I've got quite a few where I work in North Yorkshire and they all said we deserved the win and we're the better team, unusually gracious in defeat. The day after the game I had a meeting with a client in Newcastle who commented on how impressive the atmosphere was in our end and how great our fans looked and sounded. It was a decent effort form us and far fewer freak shows than we usually have at away games. Hat c*nt was there and even he was a bit less of a bell end than normal. Long may it continue!
  16. Haven't you told them about your nickname on here?
  17. That's sh*t. Fair enough season ticket holders get first dibs but why are they prioritising home games for members? Plenty of fans like me who cant get to home games (it's a 600 mile round trip for me) but go to plenty of aways.
  18. There wont be any "cant be arsed" or family commitments, unable to get time off work, surprise great aunt birthdays, too far to go on a sunday, cant make it due to the roadworks, don't want to watch boring claudes boring team etc for this one. They'll all be out, even the historian will be there with bells on despite the competition being the greatest threat to our season. Personally I think everyone that could be arsed last night should be guaranteed a ticket, but they wont be.
  19. Well everyone is it??? The micky mouse cup many weren't arsed about a few years back as we were on our unstoppable march to take our rightful place in the champions league. Whats the view now?
  20. And don't forget the atmosphere created by those brilliant Liverpool fans, another great cup night at Anfield. Then the scoring player, probably Lallana will talk with affection about his old club but he's a Liverpool player now and had a job to do and how pleased he is to be in the final.
  21. I'd say more heroic failure. Van Dijk fails a last fitness test and we battle gamely for 90 minutes then lose in extra time with us having a big decision go against us, with us all left ruing our luck and claiming we'd have won if Van Dijk had been fit.
  22. Gardos will be like have a new signing.
  23. We should Spend the whole game ripping into our new signing on his home debut who has come to replace him. Lots of ironic cheering when he wins a header, shouts of "FFS *insert player name*" anytime he does something that isn't brilliant. Meanwhile cheering fontes every touch, a few 'he's one of our own' chants and a standing ovation when he leaves the pitch is what we usually do when someone comes back isn't it?
  24. Possibly. Just look what he did with Thierry Henry. Managed to coach him into being a very average winger who got his big move to Juventus where he struggled before Wenger turned him into a striker.
  25. Nothing to see here. Clearly this is someone we've scouted for ages and profiled at length as we do with all our signings. We know exactly who we are bring in to replace outgoing players well before they leave so I'm sure Sakho would have been a target even if he was in Liverpools first team, the fact he's fallen out with Klopp and been banned for doping is just a coincidence.
