  1. What bit about two clubs had a bid in with one club for one of their players and that player chose one club over the other are you struggling with pal?
  2. If your boyfriend/husband f*cks off with bother women would you thank him for all the effort he had put into your relationship, hope he is happy with his new piece and you can feel this way as you knew that he was always going to leave you once a more attractive woman showed a bit of interest in him?
  3. Hmm, I'm not so sure. I remember reading a forum once of a league one club that claimed that Had only ever finished in the top 4 of the top flight once in their history. Yet many, many of their fans were indignant that they were on an unstoppable march to the champions league. That their fan base catchment area covered everything south of the line from Liverpool, through Birmingham to London. That they needed a 50,000 stadium to fit all their fans in that were going to watch their team of brilliant academy graduates who would never leave the club sweeping all before them as they destroyed every club between here and Babylon with their brand of Soccerball.
  4. When villa finished 6th 3 years in a row they lost Milner, young, downing, Barry, Friedel as well as other squad players like Curtis Davies, zag knight that could do jobs. Everton have lost Lescott, Arteta, Rodwell, Fellaini in recent seasons, Swansea Bony, Allen, Sinclair, Davies, Vorm, But let's ignore that and pretend it only happens to us.

Possible scenario. Spurs want to sign Suarez from Madrid. So levy IS in Madrid and is trying to do a deal, but not for Alderwiereld, but for Suarez. Both sides have been using his presence in Madrid to put pressure onto saints to screw as much money out of us as they can. levy helps out Madrid by letting everyone in the media think he wants Alderwiereld as well, in return he gets a smooth transaction for his man, Madrid use the spurs 'interest' to drive a higher price with Saints. levy gets his man, Madrid get more cash from us, its a winner for both of them.

You don't get this in football manager do you pal.
  10. First off its Brett, secondly I think he actually said don't expect any big money/marquee signings this summer which given our last marque signing cost us £2m a game I can live with.
  11. Hearh for worst feeling For worst goal Leon bests OG in the play ofd second leg at derby.
  12. Surely your statement begs the question if we are so brilliant why do so many of our players jump at the chance to join them? better than Saints in that we have never, ever finished above them. So despite by your own admission that they are bigger, richer more successful and have been for every single year of the 130 years we've been in existence you're making total sense as usual Les.

Calling MLG and Redslo to the fourm to tells us how realistic it really is.
  14. If the figures are right and osvaldo has cost us £25m then the amount of money wasted by the peoples chairman must be getting near on £100m. A similar figure for Ramirez, plus the other not so expensive failures like Mayuka and Forren, the over spending to the tune of £15-£20m on the training ground and the off shore loans, legal costs as well as his own wage and expenses which put him up there with the best paid chairmen in the county. Add in the lack of income he was generating then the picture isn't pretty. I remember the days when people used to insist he was a great businessman, let's hear the case for that now.
  15. Strange signing and an expensive mistake. when you factor in his wages and transfer fee each game must have cost us about £2m. Who is to blame is another matter. The default view is that Pochentino wanted him, however it was clear when he came here he wanted to be the main man and play up front as the lone striker. When you look at his apperances that rarely happened, often our style or formation was changed to accomodate him and Lambert, If Pochetino had signed him then you'd expect him to back his man and give him a run in the side in his best postion. Les Reed has actively distanced himself from this shambles so with the fact that Osvaldo was a nail in his coffin then you can only look as far as Cortese. This is what happens when a man with no football knowledge tries playing a real life game of football manager. Yet another expensive mistake from our much lauded former CEO.
  16. Can you also name drop and credit all the twitter user accounts you've nicked info off over the years and passed off as your own. Thanks in advance.
  17. Another thread derailed by the trolls. Our reputation is at stake here, we don't want to become a laughing stock with fans dragging our club same through the gutter with their trimly appearance or even worse, attempts at wacky behaviour. Its no wonder this place is going down the pan.
  18. We haven't had a clothes thread for a while, not since our promotion to the premier league so with Europe on the horizon I think its time the most stylist among us imparted some advice so the rest of you don't embarrass us with your lack of style and poor grooming. Remember everyone, you club and city are now representing ourselves across Europe, there is a very real chance we could be rubbing shoulders with some very well dressed fans, so its time to raise our game. Remember even if we have to go to small Eastern Europe City or country you don't have to dress like you're from there! We obviously don't want fancy dress, no clown suits, road cone hats etc and We don't want to see any shirts over hoodies and in the early stages in hotter climates no three quarter length shorts or nasty Lonsdale style velco strapped trainers. My wardrobe is Pretty much sorted for the qualifiers, I'm presuming wherever we go its going or be warm so got myself a couple of moncler polo shirts, which I'll team with some chino shorts and a pair of superga trainers. So what will you be wearing? If any of you need any advice do not hesitate to ask.
  19. Adios Morgan. One of the most overrated players we've ever had. In the championship was arguably third choice behind Hammond and Cork, In league one Couldn't get in the team ahead of Wotton and Chaplow. Doesnt score anywhere near enough, rarely passes forward always sideways and backwards. No coincidence that he looks better once we signed Wanyama. Will spend his time on the bench watching an over the hill Carrick but at least his wallet will be thicker. We've mugged Man United again, £54m for an overrated stroppy frog who only passes sideways and a fat full back who can't cross
  20. I remember the good old day on this forum when we had dreams and ambition. when rather than discussing which players were going to be leaving we would discuss how this was never going to happen because the lads all here playing for saints would never want to leave. The days when the likes of Wes Ender and Franks cousin would type and type and type and type and type that saints player would all turn down big clubs and bigger salaries to stay as saints, to be part of something special and to fulfil they boyhood dreams of playing champions league football for saints in our 50,000 stadium play with their mates from the youth teams packed to the rafters with fans all paying a tenner each to see it. Anyone that pointed out that this was unlikely to happen was met with a barrage of keyboard thumping and accusations of trolling from the self titled intelligent and enlighten posters. We seem to be accepting that players are going to leave, when for years we had paragraph after paragraph, capital letter and exclamation mark as to why this was never going to happen and why we shouldn't accept it, because it's not acceptable. There seems to be an air of resignation, even amongst the self titled enlightened/intelligent posters that players will be leaving, but we shouldn't be accepting it, so why are we?
  21. JUst because your c*nt of a mate threw a paddy and decided he would go on strike to force his move through and this forum is full of whining whinging banshees, dont judge us all like that. I've been with this club through thin, thin and even thiner and a very small amount of thick, like most of the lads i go with i'll support those that wear the shirt and want to be here and the moment they dont i'm not interested. Give me a league one club with players that want to be here over a premier leauge club full of badge kissing helmets. So as a "neutural" why dont you fd*ck off and stop coming back here to gloat, f*ck off to Kop talk and talk about how your boyfriend cried when fans put it on him in league one as to why he wasnt putting a shift in. Tell them about his missus getting it up the arse from a Crewe player while he cired in front of the mirror after shaping his beard. because no one that us a proper fan of the club cares about what you or your knob haired, beared clam of a mate think of us.
  22. You are deluded then. £20m would be an amazing deal for him one year into a 5 year contract. £12.5m for a right back with a year left on his deal isn't bad by any means. Is he worth £10m more than Bertrand? I'm not disappointed with the price im disappointed he's gone to Liverpool, although whatever the mugs on here might says it's still a step up for him but he could have gone to a genuine top 4 club.
  23. Yes you're probably right the owner could afford to, however she's currently bailing the club out after the mess 'Corteses vision' left us in. Paying out of her pocket for a training ground worth £25m which cost £40m as well as clearing high interest offshore loans which Cortese and his vision took out, not to mention trying to shift high earning expensive players off the wage bill who have contributed FA and only came for the money anyway, but hey at least a couple of marquee signings satisfied his ego, not to mention how he cosied up to a couple of reporters who managed to make saints fans the first club in the country singing the name of the CEO and believing that if it wasn't for him we were nothing. So you see the foundations you speak of laid down Cortese were built were on sand, a basis of spend as much as you can, make as little as you can, tell everyone what they want to hear and make them believe its all about you. Yes the first part or the plan was very well executed, but at the top level he got found out and he didn't believe in his vision because he didn't have the conviction in it to see it through.
  24. A sick signing? Why would we sign someone who is ill? What is wrong with him?
