Fraser Forster Joins on 4 Year Deal - Official
Saint Charlie replied to Wrensup's topic in The Saints
Great signing. Shame he can't be no 1 because our third choice keeper who won't even play is the current owner. -
Need 2 x CB and arguably 2 x Striker if we say Gallagher is nowhere near ready and Mayuka complete ****e.
-
What kind of midfielder is Taider?
-
Hopefully get a winger and striker in this week!
-
Yoshida was poor in most games he played last year, was crap at the World Cup and against Bournemouth and Brighton looked easy to run in behind. A good 4th CB but not a first choice player hopefully once our business is done.

9 goals in League One?
-
Good to not have gained any injuries. Clearly need more in wide areas and up front to add competition. Most of the team for Anfield is fairly obvious but is Isgrove really good enough to start in the PL? Far less of a threat than say, Puncheon, so certainly an area we need investment in, as have gone backwards versus even the first season in the PL there.

He also has zero competition.

Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez
Saint Charlie replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
He will go next summer I think. Clyne's contract situation also interesting, would be great to persuade him to sign another one, but as with Jay, if you were their agents you wouldn't advise them to sign. -
Would be a slightly odd move for Rojo to be honest. Personally don't see it happening but happy to be suprised. Hope we get 2 CBs.

Excellent yes, but the kicking was mentioned by many who praised him. Surely better than Boruc though - his kicking is the worst Ive seen from a pro keeper. -
Can see Cork going. We wouldnt have signed Tadier if not to play faif often and JWP and Reed also need game time. Cork is the kind of player that tends to become more appreciated as the season goes on, and is probably better in games than training. But if we get a good offer and he gets a chance to start regularly then I could see him going for it. If we wanted to offer him another contract then we have had plenty of time to do so...

Only negative is that the Celtic fans think his kicking is **** and thats the main area Boruc is poor. -
Ramirez undoubtedly has lots of talent but not sure where he fits in the system. Would be best in one of the central midfield three but doesnt defend well enough. He was quality there vs Bmth but they barely pressured the ball. Out wide he isnt suited and in any case he would want to play on the right, cutting in on his left foot, but Tadic is there. Can only see him being mostly a sub again, but hope Im wrong as enjoy watching him. Plus he does create a lot of chances. Just seems to have lost that spark he had at the start. Bet he is excellent at his next club, the formation and league just isnt quite suited to him.

He won't want to lose his Poland spot so woulddn't be hugely suprised if he wanted to move on. -

Good age and pedigree. Our issue last season was backup more than no 1 position so I hope Boruc stays or there is limited benefit and we will need another keeper too. Davis nor Gazza are good enough to play any PL matches. -
So we may want both?
-
No, but we very possibly will.
-
Maybe he is isnt someone RK overly rates? MP paid 12m to bring in Wanyama afterall.
-
Exactly. Worth remembering Jos has earned two years of PL wages whilst putting in Championship performances. I wouldnt say he has done too badly considering nothing about his career suggests anything other than he is extremely lucky to be able to say he played in the Premier League.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
Saint Charlie replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
I am sadly, right. It shouldnt be that way, but it is. Nothing will change his mind now, and it would be so embarassing for him to u-turn, he will push it all the way until there is no nothing option but for us to sell and reinvest in someone who wants to be at the club. -

He is 30. I would say its a great deal for him. -
Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached

He will go. If he has gone on strike since last week he isn't suddenly going to turn up on Monday buzzing for the season to start. Good on Saints for sticking to their guns, but it usually ends with an acceptable offer being made, and the player leaving having ruined his relationship with the club. No reason this won't happen again. Schneiderlin is obviously sure he has at least one very good option (Spurs) and will be happy to sit it out until the end of August in order to get his way. If anything, it lessens our bargaining power because Spurs know eventually we will have to sell him. Player power at its worst.
