JWP got booked, Wanyama did a foul that was exactly the same and he didnt. Lack of consistency is the main issue with refs.

The feeling of expecting to win reminds me a bit of Wigan at home last year. All PL games are tough and we will have to play well to win.

Be interesting to see if Osvaldo starts. Suspect bench.

SKY Sports just announced Sinclair gone to WBA

Not sure we want a winger really. MP said Osvaldo coming in made it harder for Punch to play so surely the case for any other winger unless they are a huge upgrade. -
He also said its a long season with three competitions...Im sure Osvaldo will start instead of Lambert sometimes. We have to remember he is 31 and plays a physically challenging style of game. If he wants to extend his PL career beyond 33 he will apreciate a rest every now and again.

Hooiveld is too clumsy one v one and lets players run in behind so often. Always makes an error leading directly to one good chance for the opposition...every game.

As soon as Crook reported it in the Mirror I realised it wasn't true. He really is clueless.

Not convinced we have ever been in for Sinclair this summer.

Puncheon to Palace - Official (Season Loan)

Sad to see your demise as a SW poster. Always used to look out for your posts but you have regressed. I would take a break from it all, get a sense of perspective back - you are just embarrasing yourself at the moment. -

You have become a parody of yourself pal. Sad to see. -
Interesting to know, although our Scouts watch loads of players - good to see we cast the net wide.

Not sure of anyone else has read "The Nowhere Men" an excellent book on the misunderstood world of scouting but there are a few mentions of Shaw in there. A Liverpool scout was tracking him age 14-16 and recommended him to them loads of times. All the top clubs would have been watching even back then. Excellent book, Arsenal scout mentions that whilst everyone was raving about Shaw, he feels Chambers will be just as good (think this was written in 2012). Also mentions that basically the whole Prem was watching Gazzaniga at Gillingham and he was rated extremely highly by the Scouts. Well worth a read.

Shaw worth over £20m already...

Is anyone else having trouble viewing the photo? Might just be on Tapatalk.

One problem: article written by a known shyster who literally knows less about Saints than most on here.

We haven't signed anyone in his position either, although he started falling out of favour end of last season. Could certainly use another wide player if he goes. -

Interesting if true. Would surely either be to get someone else in, or to trim wages a little. Always thought we didnt see him as a long term bet even after he signed a new deal, that just meant he couldnt leave for free. Palace is his home club, he would do well there. -
Adam Lallana on Talksport within the next hour. (3-4pm)

AKA...as a frontline striker. Which presumably is where he will play for us. -

So he has taken the spot in the dressing room that was vacated by Frazer Richardson. Not a bad swap to be fair.

I think I would agree, especially away from home. Which brings me onto the Osvaldo position. In a World Cup year, for a player at the top limits of who we could attract can we really see him being played out wide? If the offer was to play second fiddle to Lambert and play wide or withdrawn then I doubt he would be here.
-
Interesting how many people: 1.) Are picking Osvaldo but not upfront. Surely he will play up top rather than being shoehorned in out wide? 2.) Are picking Lambert as a no 10 style player. I know he drops deep as part of his game but could he actually play from that position all the time, or would his lack of mobility be found out, but attacking wise and also in the pressing game?

I would say none of the front players are guaranteed to start, and that includes Lambert.
