I would rather have Wanyama and Osvaldo! We have played 3 games and have 4 points. People need to chill!
-
Usually both teams use all three in the vast majority of games you will see.
-
Lallana was very good today I thought and certainly was harsh when he was replaced.
-
Pretty sure he will start after the Intl break. He did miss a lot of pre season.

Cork bigger voice in dressing room than we thought?
Saint Charlie replied to Roger's topic in The Saints
No. Any other bizarre threads you want to start tonight Roger? -
Norwich were certainly not better than us. End of the day they had the days star man in Redmond but a draw IMO neither side could have complained at. We did lack that final ball to create a clear chance, but they equally were stiffled by our CBs. Awful from Lambert today and on this seasons performances he shouldnt be near Hodgson's thinking.
-
I think he would be worth a place on the bench but MP is the man whose opinion counts. Was at the game and we didnt lose because Puncheon wasnt playing.
-
The Puncheon thing is pretty irrelevant. Even if he was still here he wouldnt have made the bench because MP doesnt rate him. So not like he would have made the difference today.

Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
Saint Charlie replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
From what Poch has said I would be suprised if anyone does come in. Seen it loads before where the Manager says he is monitoring whats going on and it basically means we have done our business. -

So....anything going to happen then? -
One positive for me today was Lovren: looked absolutely superb I thought and the central defence looked good to me. Main issue for me today was that the full backs offered nothing going forward and we looked slow and ponderous in attack. For me, Jay needs to start on the left.

Not really any links to Saints at the moment, would be a surprise to add.

I guess a lot depends on what our plans for his contract are. His is up at the end of next season and if we don't offer a new one or he doesn't want to sign then his value will start to decrease soon. If, and its a big if, we weren't likely to offer him another one, then we might consider selling at a good price, although its unlikely because we would surely need to replace him. However, perhaps we feel JWP could mature into being effective in that deeper role.

Ward-Prowse snubs party lifestyle as he eyes World Cup place
Saint Charlie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Within the excellent book 'The Nowhere Men' about professional football scouting (well worth a read), a Liverpool scout commented at our Cup game vs Stevenage last season that JWP reminded him of Frank Lampard in the way he always had his head up when receiving the ball and in his clever tactical play. He said that at that point JWP was the best young player he had seen that season and he would have clearly fit into Liverpool's midfield formation under Rodgers. -
Not surprised there is interest but we would be mad to sell as would need a replacement lined up. Would say he is worth at least 5-6m as well.

Moses wanted on loan by Liverpool. Source: BBC. If we were interested I doubt we will get him.

Are Jason Dodd and Martin Hunter on borrowed time?
Saint Charlie replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
Surely the job of the 18's and 21's is to provide good players for the first team? Doing a good job of that. -
WBA are probably more desparate for signings than we are, plus Lukaku move last year worked well allround.
-
Lots suggesting to drop J Rod but I wouldn't. He is the only attacker we have with any pace and who actually looks to run in behind. All the others are good players but play in front of defences.
-
Cheers pal, just saved me 25 notes!
-
Great to have so many options. Hopefully we will find the right setup.
-
So we might add, might not. We don't 'need' to which is a great position to be in compared to other teams. Regardless of whether we add or not this is the best window we have ever had.
-
MP presser just after 9 so we might get more of an idea if he thinks anyone else will be joining. Wouldn't be suprised if not.
-
Not sure we will bring anyone else in, and it wouldn't bother me.

As posted on match thread: Ramirez seems to be composed in front of goal for a midfielder (finish tonight, QPR and WH home last season) and also is capable of some excellent assists. Instead of focusing on what he doesn't do well why don't we look at the positives because once he finds a little more consistency we have a cracking player on our hands.
