If Chamberlain went for £15m after a L1 season then IMO Shaw's market value is way in excess of 20m, no need for us to sell too. Pretty sure Nic will be putting a lot of offers in the bin.

Possibly, but Crouch was our best player second half of that season and did more than any other player to keep us up. Not saying he is any kind of club legend, but certainly doesn't warrant abuse.

This season has been a poor one for Barry personally, began his wumming with a decent start but has faded badly. Woeful. There are only two decent wums left now IMO: Glasgow and MLG.

Laudrup today saying Swansea will sign 5-7 if they keep their squad and then more if they lose anyone. Could easily see us getting 5 or 6 in total. If we are as ambitious as we say then we will need to spend to get up the league. If other teams also spend 30m then you would net out. We will need to outspend a lot of teams to push up 5 places at least. Plus of course sign the right players. We spend 30m last summer and will spend more this. Perhaps not 50m but with wages combined we will spend big IMO.

Easy to look at a couple of negatives. Without Crouch's goals we wouldnt have even had a chance of staying up.

Quite possible he won't play. Owen will start or come on for at least 30mims and Crouch and Walters are both ahead of Jones anyway.

Clearly the reaction will be good, no reason for it not to be. In light of this weeks events it will probably be the most pro Cortese its ever been - which of course was his plan (and fair enough after what he has done for us).

Hope Pochettino stays (and sure he will) but if not we should promote Fran Alonso the Technical support coach. He knows the players and style but isn't a part of MP's official staff and has roots in this country.

If they do stay, I guess there will be some sort of announcement. That would be well received by the fans, and there would be even more of a feel good factor about the club than there was before this came out. Not much real substance in it. AVB said this morning Shaw is a wonderful young player but that doesnt automatically mean we (Spurs) are interested in him. Would imagine nearly all the top sides are and we need to sort the Cortese stuff pretty quick.
