With tweets being displayed on the advertising boards during matches are we starting to see the aggressive PR philosophy preached by Julius being applied in the corridors of power at SMS?

Could easily see offers coming in for Schneiderlin, Cork, Lambert etc. Im sure Cortese will tell them where to go. His comments when MP took over were interesting re building a team who want to stay at the club long term. We have spent a bit of cash but as soon as you let your best players go then in reality you have to spend more to keep getting better (plus using the money you got from the sale to replace the quality you lost).

No. You are wrong. The front sweeper plays in front of the defence and defends the whole way across the pitch, protecting the defenders. Schneiderlin can't do this role because he doesn't ever tackle.

Do we think MO PO will get the best out of Gaston ?

Come on, Ramirez has largely been very good at home and not so good away. He is 22 and adjusting to a new football style, he will be fine. We will see the best of him next season. -
Better PR since the arrival of Julius Duncan too.

...the right blend of youth and experience
Saint Charlie replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Good post Davie. I think we have a great mix now. Best thing is the young players mostly have a lot of experience. Players like Clyne, Cork, Morgan, AL have played over 600 league games between them. -
Cork could maybe come on to replace him but he never scores and passes sideways so probs not an option TBH. We should probably look to recruit a proper front sweeper in the summer. Will be difficult though as nearly all teams in the world are looking for the same position.

Team for Newcastle (Derry 2012 ™) ------------------------Gazza------------------------- Clyne------------Yoshida-----------Hooiveld---------Shaw >>>>>>>>>>>>> -----------------Lallana--------Ramirez--------------- Rodriguez---------------Lambert------------------Mayuka Scheniderlin can't tackle and only passes sideways. Richardson as front sweeper to defend everything all across the pitch.

Saint Charlie replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
Why? Its possible to find better players than Davis and Puncheon who will be willing to press. Look at Barca as an example. Pressing is great but to be a much better team you need players with as much ability as possible in the final third to take advantage when you win the ball back. Those attacking mid positions are probably the most vital so Im sure we will look to add options there. -

Chelsea often play with Mata, Oscar and Hazard all together. If we bring in better players it would enhance Ramirez IMO. Ultimately for where NC wants to go players like S Davis and Puncheon won't be good enough but they are fine for now. -
Obviously we don't feel he would have benefitted.

MNF - super analysis if Citeh demolition on now
Saint Charlie replied to adrian lord's topic in The Saints
Actually Moyes said you could either try to play out of the pressured area of the pitch or switch the play quickly. He actually said (as a negative tactic) that City were reduced at times to hopefully punting forwards as that was the only option (and one that the pressing team would like to see Im sure). -
Its interesting that we seem to have given up on transforming Jack Stephens into a CB from RB and are now trying to convert him to a central midfielder. He has a lot of ability so hope he fulfils his potential.
-
I wouldn't. He is unproven at this level and not as strong as Puncheon, nor does he use his body as well. Puncheon has played consistently well for near 6 months on the Prem and has 6 goals from midfield so far.
-
Perhaps Forren will play for the U21s tonight at Wolves?
-
Would be criminal not to keep him after everything we have worked through. He has quality on the ball and works hard, other players seem to like him. If we dont keep him then 7 or 8 Prem teams would be keen on taking him.
-
So nothing new. Seems like loads of people dislike NC but nobody ever substantiates why. Strange that. In fact, I dont think I have ever heard a story about anything Cortese has ever done that is that 'nasty' which made me think we would be better off without him (we wouldn't).

Talking of one club men, there was a Spurs fan on 606 last night who said he hoped Bale would follow Gerrard and Carragher and be a one club man at Spurs. The presenter Alan Green didnt correct him...

Can't listen now, what did he say re Cortese?
