He is g*sh. Which is why Spurs are keen to get shot and he doesn't even feature in Europa games. Their cast offs will get us nowhere.

Ramirez is going anyway and has had enough chances over his four year contract. Nobody doubts he is a talented player but multiple managers have failed to fit him into a PL starting XI on a regular basis. No point going on and on about him Adrian - he is on his way out.
-
We are definitely capable of beating them but after nearly half the season we haven't beaten anyone above 13th in the league. Spurs are overall better than our level. 2-3 points would be a good return from the next 2 games IMO.
-
He was on our radar too according to Di Marzio in the summer. Looks an excellent player.
-
Yeah City's Academy sides are very good. I think in their U13s or 14s they put nearly double figures past United this season. Iheanacho is starting for them tonight and he has as many leagues goals this season as Shano.
-
Exactly. Thats what I was getting at. We can do better than Championship strikers with one goal streak to their name.
-
Obviously not some world class striker. But we can surely pay enough to get someone better than the likes of Blackman?
-
Over the 4 years of his contract he will be the most costly player on our books after Ramirez. Would you not expect more than an impact player for that sort of dough? For us that is a lot of money.

Its an online football forum FFS!
-
No worries, give it a go. I would rather read your opinions about the team rather than threads moaning about the state of a Forum you don't even start threads on! [emoji1]
-
Because you feel only your opinion is valid. Which kind of defeats the point of a Forum... If you try to become less emotional about the opinions of others then you will enjoy it more.
-
Also to the OP: aside from build up and post match threads the last Saints related thread you started was in 2013. No reason you can't show the way forward and start a good one that people can contribute to...
-
Its a football forum FFS. Its exagerrated, irrational, emotional debate about a football team. People take things said about the club or players etc way too much to heart. Everyone on here wants Saints to be the best they can, and if things aren't ideal like at the moment are bound to have opinions and frustrations about it. If everyone agreed and reacted rationally to everything then the game would be dull, most of the football media wouldn't exist and this forum would have barely any users. Must be said continual "apologists" are on the same level as continual "bedwetters" too.
-
Agree with those but ultimately the better team with better players in better form will win in the majority of cases so you cannot really separate Cup & League form completely. No coincidence our poor form in the Europa round we lost in was at the same time as a poor league start. Ditto the Liverpool loss being in amongst some poor league form.
-
He sounds brilliant on the radio! Haha.
-
Surely though if our form in the league is poor it makes Cup form more likely to also be poor? Don't see how the two can be so clearly separated. Its not like any team suddenly changes their whole mindset into being a "cup team" which is why generally the best teams win most of them.
-
Don't agree with the OP but some people on here really seem to get agitated when people have a different viewpoint to them. Quite funny really. You don't agree so you want their user ID to be revoked. Kind of defeats the point of a forum.
-
Not a fan of freedom of speech then?
-
Can't argue with that. But many will.
-
Thanks. Amazing how so many on this thread seem to disagree then, don't you think?

Apart from Blackman (and most on that list) just wouldn't give Pelle any serious competition which is the whole point of bringing someone in. We are an established PL side and can pay good salaries. We can attract better than a midtable Championship striker with just one decent half season to his name.
-
Jay Rod is considered a wide forward i.e Tadic/Mane competition. The reason we need a striker is because Koeman doesn't consider Long to be providing adequate competition for Pelle hence why he only plays when Pelle is suspended or not fit to play (like yesterday). If it meant having more money to spend on a better striker than Long is dispensable. In any case Jay Rod will be back training just after the window opens anyway.

Look at who people suggest as signings on here. Its either same names as in the press: Austin, Afobe, March etc or ludicrous fantasy like RVP on loan etc. The easy option is to throw out those same old names when the reality is the Club will be watching a vast number of strikers and we have probably heard of leas than 20% of them. Nobody mentioned Sadio Mane. Few were probably aware of Pelle and Tadic until we were linked with Koeman. So if I say lets sell Long for £8m and sign Austin for £8m its largely pointless because we might have no interest in Austin - only the Club know that and who they are considering. For what we paid for Long it is entirely possible to sign better quality.
