Hi I am looking to buy an apartment to have as a holiday home for the family and the north-western area of Italy really apeals to me. The history and culture, not far from the coast and the mountains. The Ligurian district or around there. Looking to find somewhere in a village or smaller town, not on the coast but within a 30 minute drive or so. Anyone out there with some usefull tips and suggestions. Anywhere for good value or hidden gems or even places to avoid. Any help would be appreciated.

This....would look amazing if we all followed this fashion statement. Great pre-match atmos in the pubs as well. Super Cool.

The away shirt looks good when you see it being paraded by the players. I then saw it at the Saints shop in town...not impressed! Dont like the oversized "bib" bit down the front. I suppose it depends upon if you have a well-trained upper body or not. So thats 95% of us ruled out. Will not be buying either of these kits.

Having lived in Sweden for a few years, which is expensive but not norwegian, but still the price of a drink is not cheap. We all travel down to the Border shops on the german coast and stock up with as much beers as the car an carry, wine by the boxload, and a good selection of spirits. This gets us through the year comfortably. As Herr Norwegian also said, before hitting town its sensible to have a get together at someone house early in the evening, get well tanked up, then the cost of an evening might only be around a hundred quid. This is just for an evening doing the pubs. Add in a nightclub and its easily a weeks wage down the ****er. All in the name of fun.

OhBugger. I just read in the papper that this is all changing for the coming season. Oh****MeUpTheDirtBoxIam****ed. This is one story that keeps getting worse for every year. Two years ago they showed every match live on saturdays, on their sat channels. and with english (mostly scottish though) commentators. And now this. One live match on tv and one on Viaplay. Well thats Saints ruled out. Week in week out with Looserpool and Arsenal and Spuds. looks like i'm also gonna be spending saturdays searching for arabic feeds.

all the PL matches are shown in scandonavia. Some live on the sports channels. ALL the others on their web. Legally. At a cost though. But worth it. Means i get to see every Saints match.

I understand kids tuning in (look at the clover dog!) but why why why would anyone over the age of eleven ever watch. Unless they are complete mongs that is. And the grown-ups in the crowd. Arggh. Loads of fat Sharons booing the wannabies. Truelly ****eTV!

How do you follow the Saints when you're not in Southampton
svetigpung replied to aussiesaint20's topic in The Saints
Been in Sweden for twenty years now. In the good old days i used to follow the important games on Ceefax.....how depressing. Nowdays , Viasat (swedish Sky) show every game live here, either on tv or its website....bit better than those dark days. Inbetween them it was Saints Player. I think this was more painfull and less clarity than northern Dave and the ever-crashing Saints Player. -
What was fan violence like in the 80s at the dell?
svetigpung replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
I was 10-15 years old and went to plenty of matches at the Dell in the 70's. Never got caught up in any trouble, but then again i didn't go looking for it. But as others have said , if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, then you could get a proper welcome. Did Liverpool away (Keegans return). Jees the whole city was a frightening dump. Gangs of scallies in their front gardens outside Anfield all giving it some. Pretty glad we two lines of the OB to walk between. BUT a fantastic atmosphere inside the ground...truely electric. Dont get close to that nowdays. I do remember the walking to the ground and being really worried that you could get jumped or bottled at any time. Never did though. And back then on the Archers you had to watch out for all sorts of missles being lobbed over the fence. Anything could fly around you. Anyone remember the famous picture in the pappers of a (some teams) fan with a dart through his nose. A present from the ManUre section. The whole match day was an experience. Now i take my two youngens to StMarys and away and feel pretty safe. But i still don't go looking for it. Would never have considered that back then tho. -
i am flying over for this game. not had too much luck this season. so my expectations arent that high. would love for us to go out with all guns blazing. Gonna have a cracking day anyhow. can see Puncheon , Guly , Ward-Prouse all deservidly getting a game. Not exactly a weaker option. dont think it would be an easy game for Forren to debut. I mean Stoke Hoof Wrestle FC. COYS

a lap of honour for the team without all the plebs getting in the way (no i dont mean Fox) would be great. though it could be funny to an empty ground as soooo many leave in the last ten minutes just to get a good calm walk and a nice drive home.

Fancy Dress is for mongs........well thats 20,000 up for it straight away then.
-
Didn't they win at The Emirates last year? Could happen....would make for a cracking last weekend
-
I thought he sounded like a young Mick Jagger... Nice to hear him talk so passionately about the team that he genuinely supported as a kid. You wont hear that from many modern day players. Swapsies with Fox anyone?

well that was exciting big WOOT

Hahahaha proper saints style defending there.....very comical

Interesting reading...i've always been carefull with the news from the west. For years we were brought up with reports of how false the eastern block were with their truths. Believe me , the west could do its fair share of spinning. Anyway , the conspiricy theory here should focus not on what happened, as it obviously did, but more on WHO perpetrated the bombings. The suspects fit the bill that the US wants. Make damn sure they get convicted. If they cant defend themselves afterwards then its easier to continue the lie. One dead , one with a hole in the back of the head. Sorted. Keep an open mind. Dont believe the "truth".

Was there last month Enjoyed walking around different areas and finding some decent bars , all selling some impressive local brews. Times Sq a big tourist rip off. Quick in , Quick out. Brooklyn and bridge walk back a must. Having a kick about on the footy pitch opposite the Manhatten skyline. Highline walk was nice in the sunshiiiine Rangers at Madison Sq Garden You will enjoy!

I met Branfoot once on the pre-season tour. A truelly miserable unpolite git.

i must admit while watching it on tv my first impression was that Lallana had knocked it in with his hand. No doubt thats what the lino thought had happen also. And after all the replays on MOTD there was no good angle showing exactly what occured but the photos do seem to show the goalie just dropped it. I am all for linos helping out , as they normally dont help the ref even when its right in front of them. However here he was miles from the action. Pillock!

theres a difference between blondes and albinos you know David. The deal with Forren....my swedish mate spoke to his norwegian wog (wife or girlfriend) at the QPR match and she said then that he will NOT play first team football this season. As someone mentioned earlier. As long as both sides are in agreement then its a sound decision. This is one for the coming tricky second season, where to be honest, i reckon Jos will only have a back up role.
