  2. Thank God we are not a fans owned club, I would hate to have one of the resident manic depressives on the board.
  3. Chelsea have been taking players from the Southampton and Portsmouth areas since the sixties to my knowledge and probably before that.
  4. You are probably right, young, good work rate, learning the game fast since he has only just started in 11 a side. Rayo had an off day Sunday, but as an aside the fans were great, they kept singing the whole game. (Best fans in the world TM) Hope we are not after one of their centre halves, one was worse than Lomas. The other one scored an own goal then chipped the goalie from 40 yards for an immediate equaliser!
  5. My lad an I took in three matches in Barcelona and Madrid last weekend. We spent plenty of time chatting to fans of Rayo Vallecano, Athletico Madrid, Espanyol, and Barcelona. All rated Pochettino as a coach, and the Rayo fans were saying that he was there a few weeks ago.
  6. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/feb/18/portsmouth-fans-keith-harris-offer Back to "100% of nothing is nothing" then
  7. PST will keep it going longer with more laughs so PST for me, although after all these years I should really get on with some work
  8. - That if Turkish makes one post there will always be another one from him straight underneath it. - Often a double post by Turkish is followed by one from Hypocondriac - if you have both on ignore the forum is a much better place
  9. O'Driscoll is reported as saying he should have done his due diligence on the new owners at Forest. He said if he had he would not have joined. I would expect Adkins would have been aware of that comment.
  10. Surprised they missed this loan player loophole... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21402835 And the taxman loses another court battle... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21411506
  11. Blimey, Big Sam writes on their forum?
  12. Saints player!
  13. Newcastle sell pub league standard players for £35m
  14. If that is the case then it says a lot about the standing in the game of a man who is often rolled out in the media as an authority on football finance and a self professed football take over expert.
  15. Well for a bloke who has no background in football he has done well then! I like the players he has signed and he has got them playing well. Well don Don, keep up the good work.
  16. Look on the bright side, at least we get in the lead. We must be doing something right! Think how big the meltdown would be on here if we had not got in the lead in any of those matches......
  17. To be fair to the Grauniad they take the mick out of 'Arry at every opportunity. Don't like the politics of the paper but the sports section is very good.
  18. The transition to 11 a side will now be via 9 a side with limited off side ( subbuteo style).
  19. When will those updated details appear! It is becoming increasingly unlikely that the PST will become the major shareholder as the prospectus hoped, what with the extra contributions from the HNWs being turned into equity. I wonder how they will explain that?
  20. One of my 28 yo girls has left, the other has come home, my 22 yo son is still home so I have left home instead! To clarify that, I am a widower so I have not left the wife and the kids! To answer the OP, make the most of it. Children can bring you great joy, one of the hardest things is to get the balance right between work and life, just remember you never get that time back*. I found one of the best times was when they were aged 3 to 5. After they go to school they have a part of their life you know little about, that is the start of letting go. The teenage years can be interesting, do not panic if you seem to lose communication during that period, they will come back! As for the asterisk. As a Grandad you do get some of that time back and sweet revenge when their offspring do the same things to them that they did to you. Hearing one of my daughters say " was I really like that? Sorry Dad! is lovely. Grandchildren are worth the wait, spoil them and give them back, all the best bits of parenting, none of the downsides. Enjoy, offspring are what keeps life going!
  21. Our style is not dissimilar to Swansea's. Having seen a couple of their games earlier in the season, I suspect he would fit better now than he did when he was here before.
  22. So, point 2. Loans from HNWs converted into equity. So unless they have a different class of shares that makes the PST very much a minority shareholder. So much for fans owned club!
  23. Kebe got into a bit of trouble just before Christmas for slagging off the new owner in the local press. Kebe was complaining about the lack of cash being spent on transfers in the summer, and the indication, at the time, that no money would be spent in January.
  24. I have an idiot who sits behind me who slags Guly off just for being Guly. Wrong on so many levels. I enjoy watching him play, he has many positive aspects to his game, loads of skill, covers a lot of ground, quick thinking. Guly has contributed much more this season than a lot of squad members, he has proved he can play at this level. He may or may not be around next season but we are better for having had him play for us.
  25. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/24/manchester-city-deloitte-top-earners List of top 20 earners in Europe. Newcastle are number 20
