Brave heart salmond announces his vision for Scotland
positivepete replied to Viking Warrior's topic in The Lounge
All very well talking about the oil, The Shetland Isles probably own more than Scotland. Watch for their move for independence from Scotland if the vote is succesful. Salmond can hardly refuse can he! -
Sean is far too classy for that lot

The agent of Erik Lamela. Well he has been a big hit at Spurs!

Cortese no longer a signatory for MALI
positivepete replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Looks like he stood in for Katharina for a two year term, and she has now taken the role back. No drama here. -

Back in town! Not on Facebook, are you all still meeting at the Pig n Whistle? -
Saw Danny Ings play loads in the Tyro League, it never crossed my mind that he would reach the heights he has. Well done to him, and no stars for me!

We will not buy squad players. If we sign any players they will be first eleven players.

They also admitted to being "done" by MP "as he can clearly speak English". They took it in good spirit.

Maybe, that will save me a few quid to not be able to watch highlights on my iPad!

Steve Parish was on the radio yesterday talking about the situation at Crystal Palace. He admitted they had got it wrong and they now needed to follow the model of Swansea and Southampton by setting a style for the club, getting a recruitment team in place to find the right players, and then hiring a coach to work with the players they have already got.

Billy, get a club for your son that doesn't make him a centre half at nine years old. Players should be rotated at that age. Keep up the great blogs

Thanks MLG. It is standard business practice to measure sales or margins on a rolling 12 months or moving average total. It has the advantage of making trends far easier to track especially in sales where particular months have traditionally higher or lower sales. I had been keeping the same record for Saints this year to see how we were doing against my prediction of 55 points this season. At this rate I will be well out!

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-0 Fulham
positivepete replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It is good to see a keeper catch the ball and deal with crosses with such authority, mind you he will have a tougher test against Stoke. If he does as well in those types of games we will certainly keep marching on. -
All this England talk. Another reminder of the early eighties. Steve Moran anyone? Why did he not go to the World Cup in Spain? One thing to note though, we play a clear team system that relies on all eleven players playing their part. England do not, so there is a chance that our players may not look as good playing for England as they do for us. Having said that, Clyne and Lallana deserve the chance to find out.

I was saying the same. The team are simply that, a team. And to think that not player in our side has a premiership appearance for any other club, this is the team that Nicola built. -
The first ten games always throw up some surprise results, as do the last eight. The middle twenty is where the teams that show consistency make their mark and the league takes shape. Great to see the football that Arsenal are playing, but the article posted last week regarding the corresponding fixtures makes interesting reading and puts the start Arsenal have made into perspective. We are definitely the most improved side! http://www.soccersouls.com/2013/10/southampton-top-the-table-while-manchester-united-chelsea-are-at-the-bottom-corresponding-fixtures-table/?

Sad to hear. A true gent. Even up to a few years ago he was still refereeing and was probably the referee that the kids had the most respect for. Put countless hours of his time into making the Tyro league work. RIP Brian.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/oct/08/english-coach-anthony-hudson-bahrain An interesting bit in this article about time spent with Bielsa, who is the architect of the style Pochettino sets out to emulate.
