  1. The reason why the fans were upset at Gaston's sending off is that he had run 50 yards and Long had been trying to foul him all the way, there were three contacts where the ref called have blown for a foul. Whilst no excuse for the retaliation if the ref had blown earlier it would not have happened. On a number of occasions today the ref waved play on but on no occasion did he go back to the player who had committed the foul to talk to them or book them.
  2. There is a lot of talk about the Conference. What you say is what you get!
  3. Neil Benson from Sparsholt had a spell coaching at the Saints academy a few years ago. Ran Salisbury Youth after that. Sparsholt have also had links with Arsenal and Chelsea in the recent past. Neil also has a 23 year old son released by Saints in the past.
  4. The league have not put a foot wrong yet. The club has shown the ability to self destruct at every stage of the process over the past couple of years without intervention from the FL. This has enabled the FL to ensure that they cannot be blamed for the demise. It will be a minimum of minus ten points next season.
  5. I would just like to add my congratulations to the plucky few from down the road
  6. Top in the interceptions on Saturday, seems to have taken the new style on board.
  7. Davis MoM for me as well. And Carroll is no better than a pub bully. Should have been of for his elbow on Jos, who had him in his pocket all day. I feel sorry for West Ham supporters watching that drivel every week, the sooner Allerdyce and Pullis are out of football the better for me. I am sure they are the only two who would want Carroll next season.
  8. I predict a ten point deduction for the admin, a further 12 points for other offences, all applied this season, but only 10 points carried forward to next season.
  9. Blimey, you have arrived early for Phil's stag do
  10. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/09/high-court-case-portsmouth-fc-fratton-park David Conn is reporting the PDT has raised £1.4m
  11. And to think that after ten games no newly promoted club had got so few points and survived!
  12. Liverpool win, Chelsea win, Wigan win. QPR are then down with the Royals. The pressure is then on Stoke and Sunderland who are both in wretched form.
  13. Only caught bits on the radio today, but Martin Keown was summarising and was extremely complimentary about our play. When asked about Shaw he said that he saw him when he was 15 and it took him 30 seconds to decide he would become a premiership player.
  14. The ref was very quick to wave play on, he never considered it for a moment
  15. Spot on. Some right idiots have turned up near me this season. Tyro managers I call them, (with apologies to those few decent ones) all up and at 'em types. My nipper comes home from a night out constantly complaining about other Saints fans. We have a large proportion of fans who would rather see the tactics of Stoke and West Ham under Allerdyce than the football we have played for the last few years.
  16. I seem to remember a similar tone on here prior to QPR at home, 5-0, in your face 'arry etc. just saying
  17. A realistic target could be 55 points next season. City achieved 55 points in 2007/08. Our neighbours got 57 that year. Look where we all are now.
  18. To clarify, I meant had he played against San Marino, my implication being that he will never be a performer against top international sides, only against average or poor international sides. Do you really think he can perform at the highest level?
  19. According to 442 we won 32 out of 52 all over the pitch, but Torres won only 4 of 17. Worth downloading the 442 stats app
  20. Definitely the Telegraph reporter who reported on a great save by Boruc in the second half!
  21. Carroll is a pub footballer, no better than that. He might have performed agaist St Marino but he will never win out against quality international players. That fact however, does not mean that Rickie will ever get an England cap.
  22. Probably a record for paying customers now we do not give away freebies
  23. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/18/watford-former-owner-banned-three-years Not that long ago when he was in the running for PFC was it? Was he also a target for a MH blog? They do attract them. I am sure Luton feel cheated, as we would do if extra points are not deducted from the Cheats FC. Will Luton take action against the FL? Could be interesting
  24. Agree, Sunderland should be concerned. They looked like they had turned the corner with their run around the time they beat us, but they have slipped dangerously in the past Couple of months. We could be six points ahead of them after the next four rounds of matches. Wigan are the jokers here, they have enough games against the teams around them to make it very interesting.
  25. Missed the game today, had loads of texts telling me what a good game I missed. Just discussing with a WBA fan how all the teams we both beat have their worst games of the season. Well done boys COYS
