  1. Because left footers are better than right footers, simple.
  2. Simple, he has shown enough for anyone who knows about football* that he will be a top class footballer. (* which admittedly excludes a fair number on here)
  3. Me too, very simple process. The linked tickets all showed up, no problems at all.
  4. Plenty of targets for Pompey. Not sure if Titus could handle the big match atmosphere at Fratton Park though! Angus Macdonald is a local lad, so might be a good move for him.
  5. Gazzaniga had the best points to games ratio of the three keepers last season.
  6. All this Spanish and Portugese talk is just a cover. The forward we are buying is Leo Baptistao from Rayo Vallecano. A former team mate of Neymar.
  7. http://www.theamericanmag.com/article.php?article=3798 The publicity machine is on the move. They are trying to change the meaning of "doing a Portsmouth", and bigging up the ownership structure as a "hybrid" along the lines of the German model.
  8. Mostly right. The key point wrong is point one. We no longer have the structure of a manager, we have adopted the continental approach where the club decides the style hires the players and the coach is hired to coach those players. He will have some input, but he will not decide the playing style or hiring strategy. We pick a coach who fits our strategy now.
  9. When Lallana adds finishing to his overall game, he will silence all his critics and be very difficult to keep out of the national side. Whilst I sympathise with the sentiments of the OP from a supporters point of view, you have to hope that players want to play at the highest level they can or at least have the pride to want to play for their country where that is not the highest level! OldNick you must be of a generation that grew up wanting nothing more than to score the winning goal in the FA Cup final and to want to play for your country.
  10. Thanks for the memories Ron. R.I.P.
  11. Thought it was Admiral with those three stripes at the bottom!
  12. Tyro manager alert! "On the small side", "gets stuck in"
  13. FA cup as the stepping stone into Europe. Win the Europa Cup then by that time the winners of that qualify for the CL the following season.
  14. Nzonzi wants to leave Stoke. Not surprised he was far too good for them. Not sure about his "agent" influence though http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/stoke-city/10077100/Stoke-City-midfielder-Steven-Nzonzi-submits-transfer-request.html He would be a good addition to our midfield group
  15. As above, losing a child is not the way things are supposed to work. God Bless
  16. Good first season back, 55+ points and top 8 finish next season
  17. Either way, well done to Wigan. Great result, personally I hope they stay up, rather see them than some of the other dross sides like West Ham or Stoke.
  18. Johnson set up the Sunderland goal in the home fixture. Too good a player to write off.

  20. This! Who are you saintalton, a tyro league rep? That Messi chap will never make it as a footballer, no height.........
  21. Tackling? When did you last watch a game? Tackling as a means of winning back the ball in the modern game has been replaced by a high tempo pressing game, as high up the pitch and as quickly as possible. How many tackles have Barcelona made over the past three seasons? Lots of interceptions but few tackles. That is why Morgan and Jack Cork will be highly sought after this summer, both are very good at this.
  22. It is quite clear Eric, the Spurs coaches read this board and were convinced he was crap
  23. Salisbury through, Eastleigh in extra time. Would be a good play off final, and promotion to just one league behind them lot down the road
  24. Slight snag in that plan is that City do not have enough home grown players, that is why they had to sign Richard Wright
  25. Perhaps we can be a small team like Dortmund who have never outspent, Liverpool, Everton, or Spurs!
