At home actually, we won the reply away.

I see Liverpool are playing a full strength team. They have the same schedule as us. Winning is a good habit and not half as tiring as losing
-
The couple of Fulham fans I know will be disappointed. They had accepted they were going down but were seeing improvement and looking forward to bringing on their younger players and getting rid of the older over paid players. They have very good records at U18 and U21, but Hodgson and Jol did not give the younger players a chance. They do have all our ex academy staff up there, so they are doing something right!

I have been saying 55 points since the start of the season, but I am going the other way, I think we will finish on 57 points.
-
Using the corresponding fixtures method we are plus 13 points at the moment, on course for 54 points.
-
Perfect summing up. On to the next game please
-
Most league positions are pretty meaningless in mid table, and this season the same is true in the bottom half. Points are the best judge of progress for a team in our stage of development, and we are 11 points ahead of where we were after the corresponding fixtures last season, so putting us on course for 52 points, 54 if we win today.

FA Cup 5th round draw thread (Sunderland Away)
positivepete replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
Justice done, Brown off for the third time this season misses the cup match. -
Signed. Wish you well. Look forward to playing you again in the future

Hodgson sees a lot of Saints matches these days, (two this week) so the players have their chances to impress. As said above, Saints play a team game in a particular style, Hodgson will be looking to see how the players would fit into the style he wants to England to play, not how well they play in the style we play. Adam is a must on current form, there is a good chance for Rickie, the rest will depend on the above, but I would not write JRod off, he could well be a Hodgson type player.

Without mentioning Saints, but worth a read. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/feb/01/david-james-academy-football-data-analysis-systems

Better not play him at West Ham then http://www.openplay.co.uk/blog/premiership-football-pitch-sizes-2013-2014/

I too sat amongst the Fulham fans. They were bullish at having survived intact during the first half, which I agree we looked a bit flat. But the decision to replace VW who was clearly not yet match sharp, with Cork, combined with Fulham pushing forward looking to win, allowed us to exploit gaps between the lines in the second half. When we scored the first, both the Fulham team and the Fulham crowd went flat, and by the time we scored the second they started leaving in ones and twos which turned to a flood when the third went in. Spent the evening in the eight bells with a group of Finns who came over for the game, one was a Saints fan since the early nineties. Great day out. Btw, didn't we have a few posters who were bemoaning that we could only score from set pieces after the first few games. The five goals we have scored this week from open play were a joy to watch.

Judging by the interview with MP on Tuesday it would be a fair guess that the one in one out referred to the Osvaldo situation. I doubt if the club did not try to bring in a replacement, but there was no need to be held to ransom. The answer to your second point is that Guly will score a hat trick and we will beat Citeeh 3-2

Longer ago than that. Steve Foster was at Saints as a kid before becoming a hero down the road, Steve Mills came up to us from Gosport, Bobby Stokes etc. the only significant one the other way was Darren Anderton.

Barely any tickets left according to their site. I have now sorted nor though
-
I will also take one if available
-
They have to pay up before the World Cup
-
As long as our fans don't take the attitude of some Arsenal fans I heard Tuesday night complaining that they should always beat pond life like Southampton.
-
Holtby by signed in time to play tomorrow, the new striker did not.
-
Nzonzi is a class player, far too good for Stoke
-
A good move for him, it really cant be fun being a footballer who only trains and never plays, they do not have that long a career. Glad to see the others being released and moved on for the same reason.
-
Did well, should the Jim Steele song be revived for him?

http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/720714/MatchReport Not often that a team has a higher pass completion than Arsenal in a head to head.
