  1. Nice reports, especially like the references in the Telegraph article to the songs............. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/championship/9233370/Southampton-4-Coventry-City-0-match-report.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/apr/28/southampton-coventry-city-championship?intcmp=239
  2. Must say some the Coventry youngsters were pretty good today, may be a few for our development squad should they go pop. The right back, centre half, (Cranie also played well today) and the striker that came on all had good games.
  3. Thanks Pugwash, well said, on this day I will even be magnanimous to some of those idiot fans we have!
  4. Stood by my seat on the half way line in the Kingsland today watching the fans running on the pitch. Off to join the other Brisbane Saints tomorrow, not sure when my next game will be, but what a memory if that is my last for a while. Thanks SFC
  5. Back home now, doing my bit by celebrating with a pint or two of HSB, the only decent thing to come out from that area
  6. apologies, delete as appropriate.............
  7. Read this thread http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B000KKNQBK
  8. I want to vote for Guly. Seriously! A really good player who gets undeserved abuse from the ignorant section of our fan base. He has played an important role this season with assists and goals. In the mean time I will vote for Jos, he has also made a great impact this season.
  9. Well done the Roar! Be with you all next week, better get the plans in for the Euros (that start on my Birthday!)
  10. On a more reasoned note, the secret footballer column this week is interesting. It sums up the difference between Reading and West Ham, and without mentioning us by name indicates why we have also been successful this season. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/apr/20/promotion-team-fight-every-inch
  11. They deserve promotion for their late run, outstanding set of results, beat all the other top teams on the way
  12. Reading clear one off the line........
  13. Le Fondre just missed a sitter
  14. If you have a Vodafone UK sim, the " Vodafone passport" now covers Australia, so (just) 75p a call, make or receive to / from the UK. If you make a call it deducts your free minutes as normal. I would guess that it only works if you are connected to a Vodafone Aus network, which does not always happen. You can also get international dialling cards with access numbers for cheap calls from mobiles.
  15. Well, we have form. Didn't we "fix" the match against Spuds in order to gain promotion some years ago
  16. I will be in Brisbane until July, maybe longer. Drop me a pm, all you have to do is accept Guly is one of best players and I am sure I can put you up for a few days! A good group of Saints fans in Brisbane.
  17. Messi generally plays on the right, though in recent games has been playing in the centre
  18. Just the performance we needed, but to be fair Palace faded after the first goal and disappeared after the second one. Deono and Jack were not on top in the first half when their number 8 was playing well, but he is a big lad and ran out of puff chasing our constant switching of the play. Happy to take Nathan Clyne off their hands he has looked good in both games this season. Great day out, just the tonic after Saturday.
  19. There is going to a concourse upgrade close season, perhaps it all part of the plan!
  20. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-ham/9189529/West-Hams-Ravel-Morrison-eager-for-chance-to-prove-he-has-cleaned-up-his-act-since-leaving-Manchester-United.html Arsenal rumour surfaces in the telegraph today
  21. Back in Brisbane in May, staying through to the end of July this trip. Look forward to catching up
  22. I believe Derby County have been using Groupon to shift tickets this season, though to be fair their base support is somewhat more than those down the road.
  23. It is fair to say that the FL are hoping that the situation will sort itself out (i.e. relegation) without further intervention this season to avoid the charge that the FL has made selling the club more difficult. The situation changes at the end of the season however, and if the NewNewCo try to apply for the golden share without honouring the previous CVA, or having a new one in place which recognises the old one, I am pretty certain that the FL will not grant the share, they recognise that then the integrity of the competition is really thrown into doubt, and the other clubs will not allow it.
  24. West ham have given up hope of catching us, their only hope of avoiding the play offs now is if we beat Reading, even then they still have a lot to do.
