i've got one of each staff + 2 assistant coaches, i got spanked 5-0 away yesterday have bought 2-3 17-18 year olds who appear to be pants but will replace my older yet more pants players over the coming weeks, i find putting in nominal bids at stupid o'clock seem to do the trick (i think i got that tip off this thread) im thinking instead i should have just not done anything and saved up the money for a passable or solid coach (which ever ones near 300k to buy) but at least the youth academy allows me to mess around with the game more, what did you do in your first season? and have you got any 30yo's to get rid of, i need some exp for no dolla

Vulcan 607 by Rowland White is a great book i read it earlier this year and it was a bit of an eye opener with the effort that went on to get the bombs on target! im ashamed to say i've just finished "up pompey" by Chuck Culpepper an american sports journalist who decided to "become a fan" and follow a prem team for a year, it's a good read with him getting a grasp on fandom in comparison to corporate america, the chapter about the Torquay Game he goes to alone is probably going to sum up our next season! (it's not all about the sk8tes, he goes to a lot of other matches too) Aside from that i've just started Iain M Banks - The Use Of Weapons it's great but im wondering what next, some good football book i think, maybe strach's autobiography or "outcasts united" by Warren St John

to be fair one of ince's plus points is that he can do a rare thing, coach mediocre players and get the best out of them, thats why he's done so well in lower leagues and so badly in the prem.

not a loss imo, we've got patterson and white alone who could fill the position. if we play further up the field than we did last season we will easily have more than one player who will bag 20goals in L1.
