Poll? >> Would you rather start on -25 in League One or on 0 in League Two?
gonzo replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
This is all so bloody depressing. -
But which directors? I thought they all disappeared when SLH plc was put into administration?
-
PL and getting paid a decent wage on time, or L1 and not getting paid a much lower wage on time? Hmmmmmmm......... Be honest, which would you go for?
-
We've got until friday, I thought?
-
Absolutely not. He only had a good start with Leeds because he was given an obscene amount of money to spend. They went into freefall as soon as the money dried up.
-
Not when he plays for a league one club in severe danger of being wound up. If we were still CCC and solvent, it would be at least double, but we're not really in a position to haggle when the staff haven't been paid.

Just clicked further on the Steve Ballmer link within the blog. Unfortunately, it looks like it isn't the genuine article. His blog, titled 'The secret diaries of Steve Ballmer', has the url http://fakesteveballmer.blogspot.com. Our record with big-bods in Microsoft is not so good!

I personally know the guy who writes that blog, and he isn't Jewish. If that's what you mean by it! EDIT: Oops, just re-read your post. Ignore me!

I remain sceptical of Pinnacle. However, I will be delighted if everything printed in the echo turned out to be utter bollards.
-
If true, then fantastic. The reports from the Echo have filled me and many others with dread, thinking that we've all been taken on a ride by Pinnacle. Frankly, I'll still be sceptical until the deal is done, but I'll be delighted to see the Echo proved wrong.
-
Unfortunately, I would say that the FL is unlikely to make a full public statement on this, although it would be very interesting to hear. That said, I would not be at all surprised if the FL are playing hardball over the deduction. They did it with Leeds, Rotherham, Bournemouth and Luton.
-
He had a decent rep before the debacle at Spuds, if my memory serves me correctly? Let's be honest, we'll have had worse. All I care about is still having a club to support next season.
-
But there are heavy suggestions that Pinnacle's real issue is that they don't have enough money to do the deal, and the FL thing is just a smokescreen to save face.

It's on the Echo website now that Fialka has threatened to pull out after the local rag's noseying about his affairs. To me this says two things: - He hasn't got thick enough skin to get involved the emotive business of owning a professional football club. - He probably is just a chancer/conman (delete as appropriate) simply after his five minutes of fame. I desperately want to be proved wrong, especially as Fry has essentially said that there is only seven days to save the club. But it's looking like Pinnacle's dallying when they never had the clout to do the business may actually be the fatal blow to the club we all love.

I seem to be in the minority, but I have found myself agreeing with a lot of the things GM has posted over the last couple of evenings. And his 'message from Tony Lynam' did make me chuckle a bit.

Share your favourite match/memory/moment from your time as a Saints fan, as a tonic to all the s***e going round at the moment. Mine has to be Franny's testimonial (I wasn't born when we won the cup or when Keegan signed, unfortunately!). A fantastic night, great atmosphere, fantastic goal from Franny, and I nearly ****ed myself laughing when Beasant ran the length of the pitch with the ball stuffed up his shirt so he could go up and score. And MLT's point-blank save from Shearer when he had a go in goal. That was a great evening!

Somebody who:- - Loves Saints - Has huge amounts of cash, but little sense.
-
Why would he when the papers have pretty much exposed their bid to be a sham. I'd be delighted to see the Echo, and Guided Missile, proved wrong. But I severely doubt that will happen.
-
Personally, I think you may have hit the nail on the head. Sadly, it looks like it may be one of the nails in SFC's coffin.
-
Now confirmed dead.
-
There simply are not enough threads about the prospective takeover/new owners!

lol, I see we've all got a good sense of irony here! -
None of the reports I've seen have said that he's dead. But he is apparently in a serious condition after suffering a heart attack.
