FFS, can we stop the whinging? They've said all along it's not about reckless spending, but steady and sensible progress. It could well be that Alan Pardew hasn't seen any players that he feel will go for an acceptable price. He did say that he'd be scouring the free transfer market to begin with. The other thing to factor in is that we're a third tier team starting ten points behind every other in the division. Therefore, to a number of players, we will not be seen as an attractive bet, regardless of club facilities etc. I think patience is the key word for us here.

Yep, boobies are good! (.Y.)
-
I reckon we should get him. HCDAJFU in league one IMHO. *runs and hides*

I thought that 'Vindaloo' was Allen's song? Three Lions was Baddiel and Skinner with the Lightning Seeds. Unless my memory serves me incorrectly?
-
What word is that?

I was sat just in front of the directors box and thought Claus looked like a right scruffy bugger. Could've made an effort!

Alan Pardew is a fantastic appointment for us, in my view. Good track record, and gets his teams fit and playing good football.
-
It doesn't look good at all for him. I wish him a full recovery, nobody should have to suffer with cancer.
-
I don't think it will be Darren Ferguson. Why would he drop a division to a club starting on minus ten? I fully expect whoever ends up being our manager to currently be a free agent. Strachan, Coppell, Boothroyd or Cotterill would all be fantastic appointments IMHO.

No Beckham wasn't ever at West Ham. He may be an Essex lad, but he was in Manure's yoof academy.

Are you seriously telling me that Tony Adams is the favourite? :smt078
-
I didn't actually. How come?

Bournemouth for all the bile from their fans with our admin and relegation - preferably in the JPT final. The skates for the aforementioned reasons. Roy Keane for 2005 - thrashing Ipswich 7-0 at Portman Road followed by his swift sacking would be good!
-
Never thought about it that deeply, but you could well be right! It has to be said though, there is still one all-important decision to be made/announced, one that will have a massive impact on where we go from there - that of who will be our first team manager. I do hope you are right though, Phil. We are definitely due a run of good luck!

In response to the thread title. I, like many others, couldn't give a rat's arse what Harris thinks. You had your chance Harris. You failed. Now be a grown up about it and stop complaing. Ta very muchly.

Finally, a video which shows once and for all that Stokes was NOT offside! Was clearly played onside by the manc defender nearest the camera. Shut up you manc whingers!
-
No chance. In our position, we can't afford to take that kind of gamble.
-
It's no surprise really. He's only been at Port Vale for five minutes.
-
Of course there's something fishy, it's Portsmouth!
-
Agreed, Tony Adams will not be our manager. It doesn't add up on many levels.
-
Tony Adams will NOT come here. Here is the guy who was trying to talk himself into the Celtic job. He's waiting for another crack at the big time. So don't panic.

It also said it won't be anybody too high-profile, which rules out Keegan.
