  1. Adams will not be manager. The deluded moron will be holding out for a Premier League job.
  2. Not on the website yet, but in today's Echo it says that WGS is not on the shortlist. No names mentioned as to who is, but will be people with lower league experience. Expect an appointment next week.
  3. I would be very surprised if Tony Adams, or Micky Adams were given the job. Tony Adams - Our new owner clearly means business. He hasn't made successful companies and billions for himself through these by being stupid, or hiring the wrong people. He will be smart enough to look at Tony Adams' previous managerial roles and will see he was a complete failure in both. Micky Adams - We've just paid off Mark Wotte's contract. Yes, Markus Liebherr is minted, but I doubt he'll want to pay compensation to Port Vale just to get Adams. I think it would have to be someone truly special to pay compensation, and I don't think Micky Adams fits that bill, as much as I like him. Plus, I doubt he would have the nerve to walk out on Port Vale so soon after joining them, not for a league one team anyway. I honestly think our next manager will be somebody who is currently a free agent. So Coppell is realistic in that sense, although he said he was looking to take a break from football to recharge his batteries, so I don't think he'd come either. That said, I wouldn't be disappointed with Steve Coppell at all, he's a decent manager. And not forgetting there has been apparently so much money placed on Gordon Strachan that the bookies have stopped taking bets. This says one of two things:- - There are lots of Saints fans out there with more money than sense, letting their hearts rule their heads. - Somebody knows something. And bearing in mind, WGS has apparently been sighted on SFC premises, I think there is a distinct possibility we could all be in for a happy time when the manager is announced.
  4. It was in The Sun today about Strachan returning, so who knows?
  5. This is the guy so deluded, he was telling the press he was being lined up as Celtic manager. The fact this was so quickly and emphatically laughed off by Celtic says all you need to know about the man.
  6. Tony Adams would be a disaster. He proved at Wycombe and the skates he was not cut out for the manager's job anywhere.
  7. I just booked over the phone. Took a couple of minutes to get through.
  8. Seconded. It must have been hell with all the uncertainty going on, but he just kept ploughing on. An utter professional to the end. Best of luck Mark. You've done your future prospects no harm at all with how you've handled yourself these last few months.
  9. I have to say that this has saddened me. Personally, I thought Wotte had handled himself in an incredibly dignified and professional manner during this whole saga, and that he had earned his chance to show what he could do without the restrictions that had been imposed on him previously (not to mention taking over a team where dressing room morale was already shot to pieces). Still, we have a new owner and no doubt he will have his own ideas who he wants to take us forward. Still, thanks Mark Wotte. You've had an incredibly tough job these last few months, and I wish you well with whatever comes your way next.
  10. It could well be true. Otherwise he would have already signed on the line at the Hammers, surely? I hope it is true.
  11. Either that, or free advertising, depending on which way you look at it.
  12. I personally couldn't give a rat's arse what they think of us today!
  13. Yes, memberships are a good idea. However, whilst we're in a league where we're unlikely to sell out week-in week-out, they should be cut price, say a fiver a membership. So this would give you priority tickets for big games, say we reach the JPT final or the latter stages of the FA or League Cup. Plus, in the event we reach the PL again, people who have been members previously should get the memberships (now more expensive due to the fact we're more likely to sell out) at a reduced cost compared to new members. If that all makes sense.

With a CEO and COO already appointed, I doubt that Rupert Lowe will be back. Plus, I don't think he'll fancy working for a private company where he won't be calling the shots.
  15. Let's hope for a promotion and relegation this season and we can resume our rivalry next season. I do hope they get taken over, as I don't want to see them go under (just not somebody as wealthy as ours! ). What we've been through as supporters these last three months has been hell, and I wouldn't wish it on any other set of supporters, even Pompey's.
  16. We're in no position to argue with our new owner. If he wants to bring somebody in, then he will. Frankly, I'm just pleased our club has survived.
  17. Oi!! Nothing wrong with us muppets!
  18. I haven't had, but I was intending to buy one this season. So much for plans!
  19. Good riddance. Time wasting bell ends.
  20. I most definitely would if my job wasn't disappearing in November. Will definitely like to get to some games before then, though.
  21. I think we need continuity, and Wotte has been incredibly professional and dignified throughout this whole saga. A chance to prove himself in happier circumstances has been well earned, in my view.
  22. I believe the price he paid included writing off all debts, so if that is the case then SFC is completely debt-free. The Liebherr business empire has expanded without ever incurring any debt apparently, so I would be surprised if any debts were outstanding.
  23. Single owner = no PLC HTH
