He's just turned 20 in his 1st ever premier league season in a shit side and looks the best player in most of the games and you want to blame him. Do you think the bigger attraction despite being in the championship is that we afford the manager to re-build the side in his image with a potentially a lot of money to spend. Not too many clubs clean out majority of the squad and can start from scratch - reminds me when palace let everyone go on free's and rebuilt. Thats gotta be quite sexy for a manager, that alone i could see potter going for it and as others have said being in the championship holds no fears for him and god even Benetiz and Biesla managed there, am sure he can as well.

2 major issues that they didnt get right. Striker - they explained the reasons in the summer - we were going for world class and missed - i can accept that and I can also accept in Jan its not a buyers market so we were screwed just trying to get any striker in. Sometimes on this forum we just spout the narrative of the player rather than try and judge him on how he actually performs, no player is all bad. On Lyanco I actually like him and think he can be good in the championship - I think people believe we are more attractive to players than we actually are now we are relegated. I like his passion (he actually cares), actually loves defending but like every single CB we have he can do a regular brainfart. However one thing people seem to not mention to often in their critique is he is probably our most forward thinking central defender who also can do a job on right back. I can remember quite a few aggressive forward passes that have lead to goals by cutting out the midfield ping pong team and 1 sublime assist (|cant remember who against) when he played right back (maybe city to mara ?). Overall i would like him in the champs, maybe or maybe not a starter but would be a good man to call upon and seems like a good squad player at that level. Would surprise me if he is off in the summer though, like a lot of players it depends on the manager who comes in and if he likes him or not.

Couple of thoughts. Admire the call for more youngsters to get into the team, however putting youngsters into the team before they were ready was how we got here in the first place. We need to be careful and play them more as subs etc. Talking of youngsters I would like to Simeu given a shirt number in the squad. Played well over the last 2 seasons in loans to L2 and L1, seems like a leader as well, would have in the squad for sure and would be used to the big forward man type football we can sometimes expect.
