Transfer season is split into 2 waves, I think we are just about to hit the 2nd half. 1st half - Fantasy land - all players, agents and clubs put out ridiculous numbers and over estimate their value and only the very rich (a la PSG/Monaco/City/Madrid) pay them to close the deals. 2nd half- Reality - After fantasy land is over the people left on the shelf realise they aren't going to get picked up in the 1st wave and start to reassess the offers tabled as they realise that the demand wasn't as they originally perceived. I suspect we have put maybe 2 to 3 solid offers on the table and have said they expire end July whilst we go away and begin pre-season. Therefore as we go into the 2nd wave the targets and clubs are reviewing these offers and begin to negotiate with the clubs as the pendulum swings back to the clubs who put the offers in as people have a fear of missing out so look to close the deals, this is where NC would have the stronger hand.

They ****ed themselves laughing when our "bid" of 9 Million was suggested for Banega. 2. The rate Banega as the 3rd best midfielder in the La Liga behind Xavi & Iniesta when he is fit (i.e not running over himself) 3. As Dello suggests they are obsessed about someone buying Soldado for 25mil, although that seems steep for a 28yr old. 4. They need 14mil apparently to balance the books. 5. They calling Athletico Madrid, Pathetico hahah 6. They rate Gio Dos Santos !! Looking at some of the players that their club has produced part of me wishes we could pay them the 14 mill to lock in a partnership (a la Spurs/Madrid) but the 14mil gives us a 1st option clause for 5yrs or something for the players at their club and their debt gets wiped. Probably against regulations but some of the players that have played for them: Mata/Silva/Villa/Isco/Banega/Soldado/Rami/Mendiata/Claudio Lopez/Kiko Gonzalez/Aimar/Ayala

Reckon he won't move anywhere this or jan window, seems like he is set with Inter and his commercial deals so why bother moving with a world cup coming up unless you get paid $$.

I've seen spudders dropping rep points like a sun roof on the main board, even the worst posters have been getting them. I still am none the wiser what a "price pikey" is but I 100% agree Bearsy must be one based on the valid arguments demonstrated.

100%, players are the components and the team is the product, some components don't work the way it was envisaged and reduce the quality of the overall product, thats why transfers are a dark art. Hard to understand what end product we are striving to achieve (team strengths, weaknesses) if we get a world class striker, Banega and now Vic and Dejan the spine of the time would be potentially world class, a massive upgrade on last season.

As a perfect poster I am somewhat ill informed on how the banning process works, is it like a tomahawk on an iraqi bunker and 1 day you are ****ed or does it mock you and say you is banned or something in italics on your screen. Do you get told how long your ban is, has anyone argued against their ban and won ??

Whilst I've done a fair bit of living in Europe I now consider myself a southern hemisphere colonial expert after living in Aus/Singapore and now South Africa in a row.
