  1. Gotta respect our shithousery, makes a change
  2. The comment was really to try and give an explanation about the Parma job he had, as looking at Italian clubs as a whole it seems rare owners and coaches are aligned so he could of been pissing into the wind at Parma. Also I'm bored so just thinking of plausible alternatives and we have had a interest in him for a while. The fact that Wilcox knows him, apparently wanted him as well would suggest he's a ongoing option. Martin has the experience in the championship Maresca city DNA and relationship with Wilcox. Both have pluses and minuses. Either way I'm happy would hopefully like it sorted one way or another in the next week or so.
  3. Think it would help the DOF thinks like him as do the owners - seems like everyone would be aligned on the style of play etc I can convince myself we are waiting for the Champs league final to be over and then announce it on the monday.
  4. Interesting as i didnt see it back in Oct but we were originally linked with Maresca back in October when we sacked Ralph. I know all noises point to martin etc but what if the Maresca no was a placeholder until after the champions league final ? If City win the treble is there anything else he needs to learn from pep ? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11292527/Southampton-consider-Domenico-Tedesco-Manchester-City-assistant-manager-Enzo-Maresca.html
  5. Based on the fact that man city trusted wilcox for 10yrs and did not want him to go I have 100% faith he is the right man and most qualified one for the job to build something special here long term. I expect there will be some initial frustrations (growing pains) but with wilcox I expect to see more youngsters who are ready come into the team in over the course of the next 5yrs and a strategic plan for the club, how we play and what players are needed to do so. Also I liked something he said with his thinking which reminds me of what brendon mccullum has done with england shit show he inherited in the cricket. They both want their players to always be brave and try to win even if that means a risk of losing. Over the last few years we've been stuck in this no mans land purgatory of going out and being conservative to keep it tight and then losing, hence our use of playstoppers rather than playmakers. Found a podcast Wilcox was on 1.5yrs ago - gold dust podcast (on all platforms) Just listened to it and its very very interesting and worth 45mins of your time if you want to know more about the man, his mentality and what he will bring to our club. https://audioboom.com/posts/7949322-jason-wilcox-leading-learning-and-an-obsession-with-excellence The bitcon performance guy he is bringing with him gets a shout out as well, seems like a really top leader and self reflective and not an ego maniac, empowering his team, focusing on what he is passionate about etc etc
  6. I'd assumed his wages were pretend money like his goalkeeping skills
  7. Wow this post inspired me to check my own profile, I joined 8 months later and have 7367 posts. It's official I have a life 😄
  8. can't wait to see a lot of willy hanging out for the next year
  9. The only clause I care about is Santa Claus - I just want this to be over so we can get on with slagging him off before our 1st friendly.
  10. Surely this prem league v champ's league argument can be clarified by a lawyer and a football league/EPL person.
  11. Hahahahahahahahahahah that would be epic
  12. If we can all submit our reviews of our season and players and then get AI to link it all together as show notes with references to posters and then get it to use John Inman voice to read it out I'd listen to it.
  13. Think MLG if he was a next level troll he would reply to each of those points and pick out faults with what they said and why he isn't a bellend and they are
  14. The real tragedy is he was the exact sort of profile who Jones wanted but the manager the following week wanted a different type of forward. Not the players fault just incompetent decision making from the board.
  15. To be honest I think there could be a tonne more movement than usual this summer in a lot of leagues and the not usual clubs getting poached by the big boys. The Saudi league is currently trying to dismantle Real Madrid by offering benzema and modric a boatload of cash this week when real have probably spent most of their budget already on Bellingham, so they need to spend again. Juventus seem to be looking for affordable players, AC Milan are shopping around the loftus-cheek spend bracket. Would expect the Saudis have plans for players in other leagues as well including EPL for name players 32+ with hardly any contract left. I think really Saudi is the new China and will disrupt the transfer window massively this summer, remember Pelle getting something like 180k a week in China it was insane.
  16. Think game time mattered when he was moving to us basically a sideways move. Moving to Juventus tho that is a different level and I don't think any player can expect to play a lot. I know they have that young eng guy there and he got decent minutes last year, maybe he's off and they want a replacement?
  17. Yeah I think next season is the one where his potential goalscoring can turn into goalscoring - refine him as a better footballer away from the EPL
  18. Never stop MLG never stop, the world needs your pedantic energy 👍
  19. Lets hope someone thinks the same for tall Paul
  20. Hahahahhahahaha just saw this
  21. Juventus being linked with you and people think he should swear his undying loyalty to a team of 5 months who hardly played him then got relegated. If I was him I'd be down to tango in the championship as his wages will still be much better than he had in France but if someone was interested in the window whose a great opportunity and the club accept it then I'd defo give it a look. Think that's what he means it's out of his hands, if saints accept a bid then he'll look but I don't think he's going to agitate for a move tho.
  22. To be honest I'm will the club on this one. Be a hardass with Swansea now on Martin, mark their card we won't be push overs before we go back and buy some of their players.
  23. At least we won't have to go to Luton or Burnley this year
  24. I always get the feeling from when Kraft talks he says the same thing over and over again just in different ways. Dragon seem authentic and I like him. And Rasmus is Rasmus. Read a good article in the athletic this morning on feyenoords slot who had this quote which got me worried given all the above and Russell Process Martin. "Slot had a clear tactical vision but even he acknowledges that “if a coach only talks about the process, then nine out of 10 times, the results are bad"
