  1. Very good point.
  2. Where's that photocopier salesman when you need him? Or Fialka and Lynam?
  3. As daft as it sounds, it's also pretty logical. Name another striker that's been as prolific over the past couple of years and you're probably talking about someone who is A) not English and B) Has already been thought of. That said, if it's going to be between those two, you imagine it's Graham, simply because he's a Premier League player.
  4. No proof that he has the money. Simple as that. If he's that rich he surely buys out the club from Mitchell, who himself says he only wants the best for the club. The BBC actually asked the FA and Football League to conduct a fit and proper persons test and they refused saying they couldn't be bothered. That's a fact. They have since done the test, but saying you can't be bothered to conduct a serious investigation says a lot about the quality of the test and the amount of care that goes into it.
  5. Let me be very clear about this. Bournemouth is a small club with ideas well above their station. The majority of their fans are very odd. They will never be a big club. I would be surprised if this investment by Maxim Denim didn't turn out to be a flawed concept that ends them up in more trouble. I'm not the only one that thinks that.
  6. I think a few of you are getting a bit carried away with those photos. I say a bit, I mean completely carried away. That is the exact kind of thing that will come to bite us on the arse if we were to lose unexpectedly.
  7. The 'clean' version: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01cdnlb Go to 52:21
  8. Surprised no one has mentioned this yet! The joint owner of Bournemouth, Maxim Denim, brought his wife to the game today, and at half time with the team losing, she was taken to the tunnel and did the team talk! At full time Mitchell explained things and it has been suggested he was a bit worse for wear, but it got worse. Much worse. He appeared on 606 to talk to Mark Chapman about the scenario, he then swore THREE TIMES. He said the players were 'p*ssed off', he accused Mark Chapman of twisting his words and talking 'b*llcks' and finally, he said something along the lines of 'I don't want to say the club was f*cked'. This after a few months ago, he comes on the pitch to address the fans over the PA system and apparently challenging one of the club's fans to a fight. Never a dull moment for the bucket rattlers.
  9. The Dave Merrington seal of approval:
  10. Earlier this week I had a West Ham fan tell me that Rickie Lambert was fat and useless. Yeah. Okay mate, how are all those MANY strikers at West Ham doing by comparison? Dickhead. COYR
  11. This is great, was worried I'd be the only one!
  12. Any baseball fans on the forum, or am I the only one? I went to America with my secondary school in 2004 and we landed in Boston on the day the Red Sox beat the Yankees having been three down in the ALCS to win 4 - 3. We could see fireworks from the airport as we waited for our coach to leave! Whilst we were there the Red Sox won the World Series for the first time in 86 years, so I made an effort to keep up with their fortunes. Sadly, being in the UK and not a subscriber to any channels like ESPN that plan fell flat on its face, but I discovered MLB on Five just in time to watch the Red Sox clinch the '07 World Series - I consider myself to be a bit of a lucky charm! I'm going to make a (better) effort to follow the Red Sox this season, I see that Francona has left and Bobby Valentine has been brought in. Interesting times at Fenway, one would think. I have to confess I don't know everything about Baseball, but I think I've got the basics down. Maybe this is the season where I get my head round it all. So, any fans on here? If so, who do you follow and why?
  13. I take it if the whole 'search history' thing isn't enabled, you don't do anything?
  14. Remember the game. Don't remember the accidental use of James Brown. We just kept dropping deeper and deeper until inevitably one of their attacks had everyone in the box and Hutchison threw himself to the floor. I also remember that 2 - 0 defeat to Ipswich, there was just nothing remarkable about us that day at all. Tepid is probably a good word. But by far the most boring at St. Mary's that season was when we drew 0 - 0 with Derby. **** all happened, I almost applauded when the stretcher came on for a Derby player.
  15. I've had my eye on MLB Power Pros 2008, looks fun. The Bigs as you say is more an arcade-style game, not what I'm after. I've found a method of getting NTSC to work on PAL, it's quite long winded. Involves loading USB software to enable the USB port, downloading games to external hard drives to then plug in... Yada yada yada. I imagine I have indeed updated since 2008, and I'm not going to mod anything, so it sounds like my options are limited.
  16. Okay I'm confused. I know that we have 1571 here, and as far as I know, we never get a phone call to say we have a message. We have to pick up the phone, listen to the dial tone. If it's normal and continuous, no message. If it's the dial tone but in an on/off kind of way, we have a message and then have to dial 1571 to listen to the messages. It does not involve being called, waiting for me or whoever answers the phone to say something to activate the machine at the other end, who says 'Hello. This is a messaging service. You have one new message. Press 2 to listen to the message, which you will not be charged for, or press 9 to delete it'. If I do neither, it just dies. I've checked it out and it's been reported by people who have actually found out the numbers and reported them, whereas whoever calls me is withholding their number. Apparently it's a 'Press 9' scam, which leaves the line open and can charge you for it. I've also noticed when I've put the phone down, then picked it up again to check, the line is still open, until I put the phone down again for a few seconds to check again. Weird. If it happens tomorrow morning, which will be a third consecutive time, I'll call BT.
  17. Quite agree.
  18. ****ing hell. Mods, lock this please.
  19. For anyone struggling for goals in a League Two/Conference team at the start of the game... Fausto Rossini. £500 p/w and has 29 goals in 15 games for me so far.
  20. Yes, I know the article has, thank you very much, but it has not always said that recent behaviour at away games has been of concern. I suggest you read the original post with a bit more care next time. Do keep up.
  21. Someone on Twitter today, who supports West Ham it has to be said, reckons we won't finish in the top two or get promoted via the play-offs. One reason he cites is the fact we have 'fat forwards'. Sharp and Lambert have some of the best goals to games ratios in this division. West Ham really do associate themselves with retards don't they?
  22. New problem. I've had phone calls yesterday and this morning in which I'm told I have one new message, it won't cost me to listen to it (gee thanks), press 2 to listen, press 9 to delete. Anyone else had this? It's voice activated and I've read if you delete the message your line is opened up and you get charged by the minute. Apparently you can report the number to BT and they'll block them, but whenever I do 1471 I don't get a number to report.
  23. I remember it well. Binky bought it at the first hurdle.
  24. As much as I don't like the blue few, I couldn't give a toss what happens to them. Win every game, that's got to be our aim.
  25. Well to be quite honest, that wasn't the intention of the thread at all. All I wanted to know was if anyone knew what might have prompted the club to issue a statement like the one in the Derby programme. It appears no one knows, so I'd actually like to request the thread be locked, if a mod is listening.
