  1. I think Mee signed up permanently in January, as did Trippier.
  2. Ben Mee was very good for us yesterday wasn't he!
  3. This.
  4. Yes I've just read his collective thoughts, can't agree, and I'm a vocal critic of Guly on this forum. If anyone would like to dispute that or call me 'happy-clappy' then they are invited to go through my old posts and have a look. It's there in black and white. Dave Merrington was happy with the performance as well I understand, and whilst there are those who don't really like him, Dave is a very knowledgable man and if he says Guly played well then I'm inclined to agree with him. I've seen Guly at his absolute worst, where he's fluffed the easiest of touches, given the ball away, sulked when a defender has pushed him and trotted back from offside positions rather than run back. Couldn't have been anymore different today, his tackling caught my eye in particular. I'm not going to go as far as to say that he 'oozes class' as saintscottofthenortham did but blimey, he was a totally different character against Burnley and I applaud him for it.
  5. Agree those Pixar films are on the decline, but Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a great film!
  6. Tiff Needell has agreed with me on Twitter. Nuff said.
  7. I see him every now and then and have never heard him speak English, and he's always been alone. I imagine it must be quite tough for him, so I sympathise if that is the case. He hasn't helped himself on the pitch at times however. This is a very good point.
  8. I thought he was very good today. Seemed to be in the right place at the right time all through the game, put in some great tackles, calmed the play down at times when it risked getting scrappy, did a very good job. I've been a critic of his, and I stand by criticisms I made of him in previous games, but I am more than happy to credit him when and where it is due. I sincerely hope he follows up today's performance with one of a similar if not better standard away to West Ham next week. I hear however that some mong texted into Solent to say he wasn't much cop, and I've even heard that there was abuse aimed in his direction throughout the game. Not good.
  9. 'SMASH THEM'. What happened to 'tear them a new one'? Served us well for Barnsley and Ipswich.
  10. League debut then I was at a Franz Ferdinand gig on the night of the Yeovil Town game.
  11. I remember his debut. Burley played him on the left in a 1 - 1 draw with Preston, Kelvin's clanger gave North End a point. Lallana subbed at half time. Rasiak scored I think. End of summer 2006? Not that I remember it all that well or anything.
  12. I think it's also worth looking at what Hoddle has done since he was last in management. His academy thing was a complete flop, I think he was hounded out of his base in Jerez in the end. All those players he helped, where are they now?
  13. 66? As in... 1966? Oh my GOD.
  14. I've just spoken to Steve, he's just been to see a pediatrist about a toe injury!
  15. Nothing is certain in this division. Nothing. Which only makes me think wondering where we'll finish is pointless, but there's no harm in guessing I suppose. I can see West Ham blowing their current advantage quite easily. There have been some games this season where we've not played well but we've not been absolutely hammered on the scoreboard. West Ham HAVE had that, away to Ipswich. I can see that happening a fair few more times as they target the title and forgo playing it safe which sometimes you have to do, and let's be honest, with the amount of strikers they've got, they WILL forgo that. Birmingham are on a good run of form. No doubt about that at all, and they certainly seem threatening. They're peaking at the right time I suppose, but we know all about good runs of form and how they can suddenly end. It could well happen to them. I have to add as well, has it not occurred to anyone we may have overachieved in the first part of the season? It's dawning on me that we probably did. Whatever happens this season, going on how I thought we'd do at the start of the season, we will have surpassed my personal expectations.
  16. Yeah it's alright, not a huge fan of the style of the documentary but the story is quite well told.
  17. Some of the things I'm reading on Twitter defy belief. "nice one #SaintsFC. You useless *****s. Completely bottled it again." "Useless *****s". Unbelievable.
  18. Moneyball. Found a link to see it online, muchos good so far.
  19. Have there been checks on possible militant fathers and dreams of top four clubs?
  20. +1 I don't care what anyone says, Steam has to go.
  21. Lallana against Cardiff the other day anyone? Edge of the area, man just about to close him down, but far enough away to get a good shot in, he takes two touches, moves to the side, loses the ball. Confidence has been knocked, one would assume.
