  1. Would pretty much agree with that except think we will get 3 against Peterboro and 1 at Carlisle
  2. From the reports so far, I would guess a bit more like Viafara with touch so actually not like Viafara at all........... not one of my best posts this one!
  3. Sunny Brussels joins.
  4. So far so good and I was one of the ones who originally wanted a bigger name. Have not been to SMS yet to see in person a NA team but hope to rectify that soon. Reports from those in the stadium so far sound really encouraging. Hoping to be able to say I was wrong on this one and so far it seems I was (Hooray!)
  5. Not self-appointed Topcat. Appointed by Markus Liebherr who stated he would only take the club over if Nicola would run it. ML had worked with NC for years, knew his management style and also saw it during the time he was alive. Nicola runs the club as Markus wanted.
  6. Fully agree with this. I'm a bit disappointed, as I was one of the ones who hoped for a name, but can certainly see the case for Adkins. Will get my support as we move onwards.
  7. Exactly. They will need to get Maradona's translator and ...... ahem.......chemist sorted first.
  8. Foreign - Zola Wow - Maradona (you might not think it would be a good idea, but everyone of you would say "wow" or possibly something slightly more agricultural)...........of course not going to happen, but would be truely entertaining. Shearer
  9. Definitely not. That players on the pitch, half time team talk has to be one of the most cringeworthy, rush of blood, disrespectful ideas ever. Most players would instantly think "Thanks Phil for making me look like a c*ck" and seemed to have been done for his own ego and nothing more.
  10. Boo, does not work on the iPad.
  11. Agree in the main, though I would accept zola, mowbray, and shearer and would not slash my wrists with southgate or Coleman. All the others no thanks.
  12. Agree with your point about the middle ground. Who our next manager is will be a critical decision (if not already taken). I still have faith though it will be good news, all the current rumours are just that and as St. Mary's is a closed shop with nothing getting out, we genuinely will have no idea until its announced. Ultimately though results will still be key, no matter who he appoints (even Hart god forbid), if we win the league by a margin, the vast majority of Saints fans (from obsessive to part-time plastics) will be behind NC no matter what he does that is annoying. I understand some fans will be unhappy if the club loses some of its soul, or they deem its values lost, but they will be a serious minority. Football is a results game period. Win NC = Legend Lose NC = Rupes
  13. Shame about Matt Phillips if true, was touted as a possible for us and considered decent.
  14. Paul Hart would be a truely shocking decision. Pilchards on the other thread suggested maybe as a number 2 or youth coach.........which would actually be good.
  15. Lets say the new manager had been decided on a week ago (even signed), it may be possible they have already agreed some potential targets and NC is trying to secure those as we speak. Obviously it's only speculation but its not impossible to imagine a new manager revealed alongside two players he wants (or brings with him).........
  16. I know we are all focused on other things at the moment, but today is transfer deadline day, which probably deserves its own thread. Despite no known new manager, with the info shutdown at sms, its possible we've had one lined up for ages as well as a few last minute deals. Therefore I'll make a few predictions for today: In: Maradona (.....ok Zola) Vassel Out: Pulis (AC Milan)
  17. Has to be top 2 even with no additions. This team is good..........whats frustrating is I think AP would have delivered that, so NC had better have someone immense lined up. MON would be that, but unlikely, Zola is the more realistic and just about OK, but will he really achieve more than AP?
  18. Yup, also doubt it, Paul Fletcher is a well respected journo who has good contacts in the game and a decent nose as to whats going on. Highly likely he would knowingly spin something for any club and he's unlikely to be naive enough to be taken in by idle gossip.
  19. Totally agree, I'm still chuckling..........Long live Dalek! In fact i think each poster should choose an issue from their Saints supporting past which they never let go of and bring it up at any possible moment. i'll start: Not sure what Cortese is doing with this, but it does seem strange, he had better have someone good lined up. Personally I think this all started when Telfer played in the cup final rather than Fernandes, he would have made all the difference.
  20. Hahahahhaha............quite an amusing thread.....................Dalek, I was with you first time round and was one of the ones who thought he should have been reappointed in 2004 (and even agree Rupes was influenced by the vocal minority - and suspect we would still be in the Prem if he had joined), but jeez not now. World has moved on, Saints have moved on.............Dalek, it's time to let go, it really is!!!
  21. Dog you are nuts if you think we could get him. Won the Dutch league last year, which is a standard way above L1 and since went to the German champions. That is not a poor manager.
  22. In general, I've been a supporter of NC, but in this instance I think he's wrong. The timing is bizarre, which perhaps suggest a final falling out between AP & NC. AP was doing a decent job with the Saints, I liked our team and the way we were progressing and he should have been given until Nov to prove we would be in a top 2 position. Whomever comes in next needs to be a huge name for this decision to make sense. My gut feeling is that it will be a big O'Neill type announcement and if not, i will then really start to doubt NC.
  23. Just watching the clips on YouTube, anyone else think his movement is similar to viafara? Guessing guly has better ball control, but to me there is something of style likeness.
  24. RIP Markus. Thank you. Strange how it does feel like a death in the family.
  25. Must admit I was a bit surprised at that 17k+ for a league cup 1st round, in Aug, on a Tuesday night and 18quid a ticket. Great stuff, are the plastics back? Well done to all Saints fans who went and thanks Bournmouth.
